Introduce Yourselves!

Mike

We'll use this topic as a place for each of you to introduce yourselves.

I guess I'll start :)

My name is Mike (incase you couldn't tell) and I'm the owner of NFSGarage. I started the site back in 1999 when NFS High Stakes was released. I remember surfing around quite a few NFS3 sites  (Anyone else remember EdasX's Hacked Speed 3 site?) when I found out there were downloadable cars available. That inspired me to create a site of my own, which originally just had a few cars I found and liked and wanted to link to for my friends. Other people started visiting and I added cars as they were released. It took off better than I expected, and has turned into a pretty big site over the years, which I am thankful for.

Anyways, enough about NFSG history. That could be a whole different topic if anyone is interested.

I was born just outside Vancouver, Canada but I currently live in San Diego, and work as a Web Developer for a startup website, vMix.com. 'It's like YouTube, but better", is what I tell my friends. And you should tell yours too ;)

I'm a car-nut, and currently drive a 96 Camaro "RS". I put the RS in quotes, because it is far from the car that came off the assembly line. I've spent a lot of money in the past few years modifying it (including dropping in a 350 LT1), so it is somewhat of a sleeper. Although, if you happen to hear it when I'm driving by, it definitely doesn't sound like a sleeper. Pictures available on request if anyone wants to see them.

Hmm, what else. I am a huge hockey fan, and still play twice a week to keep my "Canadian-ness' in me.

That's about all I can think of. So let's hear about everyone else :)

trilegdog

Hi...trilegdog here.  I've been running the NFS series ever since Hot Pursuit 2.   Made it into the top 100 (based on ASAC) on a few of the tracks in HP2, number 30 ranking in Underground and number 3 Elite in UG2.  MW online is seriously lacking (imo) and I rarely run it online.  I spent a couple of years with a team, EAOutlaws, but have retired although I still visit frequently (eaoutlaws.com).

My fondest memory is of the 89 IROC-Z that I owned for 8 years.  Spent 3 years customizing the engine and did car shows for 2 years with it.  When I sold it, it had 13,320 miles on it.

Over the past few months I've rekindled an old hobby of computer graphics and have been creating images based mainly on Most Wanted.

I'm retired military, 22 years, and own a business.

peace.

(just realized, I made the first post on the new forum (other than Mike) !!!!!) :)

Glad you found the forums. I think you're one of the leaders in showroom submissions, and I appreciate it! I'll be overhauling that section soon so we'll know for sure :)

What kind of business do you own?

Business.......I don't want to promote on your site.  It's fun.  I holler at ya.

IROC... Black.  all stock body, factory stripe delete, stock rims w/vette sized 2555017's, 350 TPI small block, Edlebrock Tri-Y headers (coated in/out by HPC), tweaked with a few other goodies, and a lot (understatement) of hand-polished aluminum.  I really should have kept that one.  Miss it a lot. Maybe I can find some of the pics someday.

Your site has always been impressive and the forum addition is very cool.  Keep up the good work.

peace

Thanks, I appreciate it. Also appreciate you uploading all your stuff on the site and keeping the showroom nice and packed.

My buddies IROC is Red with the Black stripes. I've got some pictures somewhere with it parked in my garage when I borrowed it for a weekend. I'll dig em up and post them here soon

Car Freak

Hey, Car Freak here. My real name is Jonathan, I'm 14, and I was born and live in Singapore.

I'm a VERY serious car lover, but car lovers are pretty rare around here (at least in my school and relatives). My dad & mum drive a 2001 Mazda 323 4dr, and unfortunately (IMO), it is completely stock. I've been bugging my dad to at least get a new set of rims to make it look a bit different...

Anyways, I'm a BIG fan of Need For Speed, having owned NFS II, NFS III:HP, NFS High Stakes, NFS Underground & Underground 2, and NFS Most Wanted. I've also played NFS Porsche2000 and NFS HP2.

Last year, when Singapore was hosting the WCG, there was an inter-school competition for a lot of the secondary schools (or high school, as you know it). I managed to come in 2nd overall in Underground 2.

My hobbies are mainly anything to do with cars, playing PC games (mostly racing and FPSs) and I play hockey in school.

Since you guys are so interested in cars, let me introduce you to one of the forums I'm with:

Well that's all I can think of for now... NEXT!

PS. Mike can you send me pics of your Camaro? My email is speedy_1307@hotmail.com
Lead me not to temptation....I can find it on my own

shaken

hey guys,
my real name's adam and i live in Toronto, Canada. (nice to hear that your a hockey fan and keeping up your "Canadian-ness" Mike!!)
im 17 now but have been plaing NFS since i was around 9. I own NFS III,  NFS IV high stakes, MCO(R.I.P), HP2, and Underground, my favourites being NFS4 and MCO. i stopped buying them after underground because i really didn't like the direction EA was taking the series, but i still have faith EA can produce a good new NFS game...

my interests include cars (i finally got my licence about a month ago  ), PC gaming , guitar & music, skiing, golf....

Good to see you got some forums up, among much other new stuff, after all these years, its a big improvement.
NFSgarage has always been the best NFS site and its great to see you, Mike, having the dedication to keep on improving it.

RevveR

Hi all! My name is Hussam and I'm 12 years old. I live in Dubai where there are a hell lot of BMWs. But my dad's got a Handa Accord (still comfy), On NFSCars, I am known as GermanAuto93.

My favorite NFS Games include MW, HP2, PU and HS. HS's graphics may be crap, but its a legend in its time. I hate U and U2 as they have ricing and sedans too.

My other interests are cars, games, tv, computer and electronics.

I hope we will all enjoy talking in the forums and good luck to NFSG!

Not everything that counts is counted, and not everything that is counted counts.

The Stig

Hiya!

I'm from the Northeast U.S, and between the ages of 13 and 16.

I'm a total car nut, mainly I like modified sub-exotics (like BMW's, Audi's that sort of thing). My parents have a Saab 9-5, Chrysler Le Baron, and Chevy Tahoe. All stock with the exception of the rims on the Tahoe.

My display name comes from the show TopGear, of which I am a complete fan. Some of my other intrests include computers, video games, biking, skiing, and going out on the boat. Farthest from home I've ever been is Indianapolis, Indiana.

My list of owned NFS games is NFS II, High Stakes, Porsche Unleashed, Underground, Underground 2, Most Wanted and almost Hot Pursuit 2.
Saab: The stuff that dreams are made out of.

XJ220

Hi!

I'm from Glueckstadt, a small german city not too far away from Hamburg.

Like everybody here I've always been interested in cars (it's an NFS forum isn't it?) and since I got the demo of NFS2 and then bought the full version I'm a Need for Speeder :) Over time, this made me modify games, now I even build cars from scratch for NFS:HS.

Besides cars I like music very much. I don't play an instrument though, but try to listen to something I like whereever I am. My favorite band is like you can see on my avatar Ramms+ein. I generally like rock and metal, but also classics and trance.
