Just need to know if Porsche Unleashed will work with windows XP, or is there a patch for it somewhere.
I have NFS HS also and (remarkably) it works  with XP without a patch, I installed HS and it worked, I couldn't believe it. On this new machine with a 19inch flat panel, the graphics look fantastic, I actually have fog now, my old crapway computer didn't have a very good graphics card.
Could someone e-mail me to let me know if I need a patch for Porsche Unleashed,  mbrowell5@charter.net,    Thanks

Yes, Porsche will work on XP... I should know, because I have it... as does almost everyone else on this forum...
Lead me not to temptation....I can find it on my own

i can't play NFS:5. I have had an ATI Radeon 9550 and i always played it in Win XP, but now i have an Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pro Atlantis with the same drivers as old graphic card, but when whren game is loading crash and go to the desjtop and appears an error :(
What can i do? I like a lot NFS.PU/2000 too.
I can run NFS 4 without problems

I just tried to install PU. I put the disk in and the menu came up, I clicked install, the computer thought about it a moment, then the menu disappeared and nothing ever came back up. I guess this new Dell that I have won't install it. Anyone got any ideas?

i'm not sure what is wrong with your guys computers but i think there's some problems with the compatibility in xp. i had a problem with it on sp1 but once sp2 came out. i installed it and it works fine... except with some gfx errors (i.e. deformed fonts) but maybe trying the "run in compatibility for windows 2000 or 98" something like that

The only problems that I know people had with NFS PU on modern computers was poor texture quality or poor displayed text in the menus etc. But I think that was more because of incompatibility with modern videocards and drivers, than because of XP.
The game refusing to even install is not something I remember reading before, and while that doesn't say everything, I kind of doubt it's Windows xp-related... are you sure the cd is in good condition?

I've got no problems at all except the Normandie track don't work in careere mode, otherwise it was easy to install and graphics are fine too, better in this pc then the old one I had PU on first.
I have an IBM with XP Pro SP2 and no fancy graphicscard just an Intelchipset with IntelExtrem software.
Hope it will work to install with other compabilty settings as monkey.wesley suggested
I had the same problem with another version of the game,in my case the US version did exactly as discribed, just refused installing
Back again but very limited time......

HiFi

nope, its not an os problem, but really depends on the type of driver you're running. i can run nfs5 fine on vista.

The game worked fine on my older pc, anyway, I am having fun playing NFS High Stakes with downloaded cars right now. This new Dell has a 19 inch flat panel and the graphics are great. I see things in this game that I never saw before, and the cars are much better looking now. It is like a whole new game.
                                Nice picture there HiFi!!!!!!

@Funmart6: the gfx are not determined by the type or size of the screen but rather the gfx card installed in your cpu. and usually graphics aren't as good on a flat panel... unless you meant an lcd monitor.

Yes, I know graphic quality is determined by the graphic card or driver, yes this is a LCD flat screen, whatever the reasons, High Stakes runs and looks much better on this new computer than it looked on my old machine.
