Question about nfscars.net

TLDR: Hey everyone! I'm new to the NFSAddons community, so was hoping to get some info about the state of nfscars.net. Any help would be appreciated

Longer version:
I've found a lot of interesting tutorials & mods while browsing nfscars using the wayback machine, but sadly the site appears to be down for a few weeks now, and these are nowhere else to be found.

Is this "down" something that usually occurs, or is it permanent?

Even though I'm not new to the NFS modding scene, I've been away for a while, and now coming back, have switched my focus to NFS Underground 2.

A while ago I was talking about this with other members, and apparently it is due to troll attacks and because the admin of that page does not properly maintain the server. It could be that or something new, idk

What worries me about Nfscars.net is that the content that has been uploaded to it will be lost, all the cars, images, patches. Other members with more experience than me will know about this, such as LRF, YochiThMaster333, AJ_Lethal, to name a few. It is whether you can make a backup of that content that is only on nfscars.net.

I have the same concern, it would be such a shame to let the server go down permanently - years and years of collected creations and knowledge just lost for nothing. When I started modding NFS games, nfscars was my gateway into that world and knowledge so maybe I'm a bit too emotional about it haha

The "backup" I mentioned I've found was a partial scrape of the page (genius effort and method), but there's so much other valuable material there that's not available right now

Is there maybe a way to get in touch with the owner? I would be happy to help as much as I can to keep nfscars alive, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that intention!

I have no idea who the creators of nfscars.net are, and even more so we don't know if they want to continue with the website.

I think it is a matter of time before it closes completely, it has already happened with other pages, like nfs-mania.com and I see that the community is more concentrated here on nfsaddons.com and nfsmods.xyz

Hmmmm, im just try to open that legendary website in this week. But without a luck as still stuck at loading....i dunno if this is a kind of maintenance or too old to continue....

I'm glad to see the community here is active though, that says enough

But losing such an extensive library like nfscars is not something we should take for granted - if anyone relevant to the site sees this post, please get in touch, I would be happy to help keeping it alive and available!

Yes.. It would be pretty sad if that era would have come to an end... it was the biggest NFS site of all times and was the biggest archive of cars and tracks. It always belonged to my life though my whole teenage time till now. But to be honest: It was some kind of a dead horse for quite some time now. There was no actice community anymore... no active forum, no news, no repairing of the broken NFS4 track preview pictures... It was just a shaddow of what is NFSAddons nowadays and it is not that much of a loss except for this archive. And if you still don´t have all the cars and tracks you wanted... This may help you:

That pretty much sucks. The site was functional until quite recently but seems it is down since a few weeks. I was visiting it regularly since 2005 or 2006.
Also how I didn't find nfsaddons sooner, I don't know.
