I just noticed the Lancia Stratos from Butch had popup headlights which are visible in the dashview. It's the first and only time I've seen that working correctly in nfs4.

Always when I try to do that, the lightboxes are transparant.

I saw In the dash.fce the part is called: F_LDASH LIGHT.

I want to add this feature to Butch's Ghibli, Corvette dash.

Edit: Just found out his Toyota 2000gt also has this work correctly.

U guyz rock the dancefloor again, 20 years after. All I wanna say. I feel myself a young crazy bastard again heho. :)

The method is to multiply the mesh in the same part until the it lost its transparency. In the toyota.
The popup light is duplicated 5 or 6 time in the dashlight part.
It's an old crazy bastard method. ;)

Butch said: "multiply the mesh in the same part"

A bit off topic I'm afraid.

I opened the dash.fce and dash.tga of the Stratos in fcefinish and did this:

1: Searched for the place where the texture came from which colored the lightboxes.

2.Copied the texture from Stratos dash.tga to my .tga using paint.net

3. Selected these textures for my lightboxes.

The result "in game" was not satisfying. It was  better but still transparant.

Tried to multiply layers and made it darker but it was only slightly better.

Your 'old bastard trick' is yet a mystery to me.

In "old bastard trick" the main word is "old". I made these car two decades ago, so I re-install all of them last night and open the mesh in my modeler.
The popup light of the stratos is made with 18 polygones but the :F_LDASH light has 162 polygone so I placed 9 times the popup light mesh in this part. Today, I would multiply 10 times.

Car looks good in red, not in 'Crazy French Blue'. ;)
I think (just like on the Jota) the side walls of the tyres should be darker.

Did you plan to update the 'standard' P400 also?
I hope so.

That loooks great! Excellent work!

Thank you.

The colors comes from Zmodeler (chevrolet Camaro I think), they will be replace in a historical spirit. Three kind of colors are planned: Body/side skirt (silver#gold#black)/optional front and top spoiler (black#body).
I have to rework the rear. I will add some details (dampers) in the hole around the exaust and reduce the size of the rear light.
And of course the normal and polish will be tuned in FCE Finish.

My old P400 will be upgrade like the Jota with an accurate dashboard.

Have a nice week end.

You are able to get the normals so nice using FCEfinish? You have many 'old bastard’' tricks I suppose.

That 'two tone' color (just like the old P400 actually) will look great. I also noticed the taillights were rather big , good to see you're working on it.

Good luck with the project(s)
