@ RevveR: I'm sure there are Americans who can do so correctly. If the examples were about students, it'd definitely not be funny, but a sign like this should be more professionally made before set up in public, IMO.

Yes, Americans fail at writing Chinese. Witnessed it first hand. During my visit to China last year, the signs were actually very well-written, so the bad English is only found in some areas of the country.
