NFS HS Mixer (NFS4 Track & Car Manager) for Modern Patch

I noticed something when installing a car: if the car has car showcase slides (SL****##.QFS files), these are copied to the data\feart\vidwall folder instead of the data\showcase\art folder

Quote from: pete9516 on Nov 21, 2020,  5:53 AMHey guys! I have a problem.
When i add new tracks to the Mixer with their respective audio banks, the audio banks simply won't wok. That means when i drive for example a Redrock Ridge Replacement that is not on the position of Redrock Ridge you won't hear the track/area sounds you usually hear when driving Redrock Ridge. This is also happening when i drive Redrock Ridge itself on any other position than Redrock Ridge. Any suggestions what i might have done wrong?
Cheers
Damn. 5 years. Reading this, it gives me the feeling that i must have been a total noob in modding High Stakes. Though i started modding it in 2012 or so.

@AJ: Ah nice you posted this issue. I've totally forgot to post it here. It would be nice if the HS Mixer could also switch track ambient audio BNKs since we can nowadays modify any BNK file formats. But unfortunately i think High Stakes has a somewhat hardcoded detecten which track is currently played. That theoretically means that driving Redrock Ridge on Atlantica (including exchanged audio files) will not be the same as driving in the original "Redrock" track folder. Though i didn't test that yet

I noticed that too long ago. I manually put them in art folder. I'm not sure but in the past (I use the mixer for over 15 years I guess) it was working correct.

Maybe the portable modern patch update has killed the order

I'd say tough luck. Just install it manually like you used to. Don't be so stupid and let the mixer do everything. I installed cars manually myself as a 12-year-old child.

The thing is that you have a very good overview about your mods with the HS Mixer. And (in theory) you can export a specific set of cars into ZIP files and then reimport them to another game folder (modpack for example) and this only takes a few seconds if not a minute. Unfortunately, it would mix up the showcase slide files for the cars.

Tbh I never used this Mixer. I have a portable hdd where different game versions are grouped by year. And one big folder with tracks also grouped by year. But it's an interesting tool.
I said hello, tough guy.

I very much like the HS-Mixer, it always install the cars correct. And a mixercar is easy to manage.

@AgentMulder:

When I was 12y I unpacked my matchbox/majorette cars manually and started racing on the kitchen floor.

When I got my first computer and not much later a copy of nfs3 and 4 I installed addoncars manually....I wasn't stupid.

When Jim Diabolo released the EP pack/mixer I installed it myself and found out the advantages.

There's a 2nd big disadvantage: When you install a car with a readme like from AJ, the Mixer won't apply and go with the same folder structure. Instead, it takes every file it finds inside the archive and places it in the car's folder. Which is bad for such kinds of Readmes

My interest in cars in NFS4 is not that big. I only added the car functions back then because we needed something like that for the expansion pack. Interestingly, the code for the car functions is much better written than for the tracks. Simply because I added them much later.
The ZIP/RAR archives are unpacked without subfolders. Because there is no standard how they are structured. So the mixer finds all files and can move them.

Get T3ED, Stock & Expansion Pack from Magenta Cloud.

@JimDiabolo: Hey Jim, I noticed the Mixer available on this site is still the old one that uses the registry install. Are you able to upload the portable version please or perhaps update the MagentaCloud link?

Just need to download the NFS_HS_Mixer_Setup_(V1.3.0.461) which is the portable version

Hey Jim, you've uploaded a new version about a month ago. I'm wondering what are the changes?
