bandenchef's Countach

Hello folks,
since I had requests for my Diablo 'Roadster' rework form Yuriy's excellent LDVT I might post a question here.

I remember I HAD bandenchef's Countach on my HDD once, but I had converted it and had it running on HP2. Since my son, when he was younger still, accidently uninstalled the whole game instead of starting it all my recent work until then was gone :(

I have now downloaded it and I am reworking it AGAIN (for HS, of course) since Evgenys patch now easily allows highpoly cars to run properly even in Hot Pursuit mode =D

I am now asking the community for testing it -if you like to- since I also gave it real performance data by internet investigation (as I usually do with cars) as well as rescaling it down to its actual size in meters and starting to dismantle the car and arrange parts new to get a proper OC, ODL and other parts (windscreen etc.) and finally also producing an 'NJ Style' ODL license plate. Interested?
Up to now I only gave it some new dummies, rescaled it and reworked the carp.txt with actual performance data from a 1978 LP 400S (but not yet the AI acceleration tables - I'll do that later..)

Please contact me if you would like to test the car in its intermediate state.

@NJ: btw I haven't changed any normals up to now ^-^

Greetings
Frank

P.S. Quite a bit fascinated by that car since I once saw it in Saarbrücken (near my hometown at that time) when I was younger ..

I personally prefer the :PLATE dummies on civilian cars ;)

Also, I think this one has a mix of projected and calculated normals, doesn't it?

.. haven't found that entry in the specification tab of the LP400S? =D

Right, Mr. Perfect, but since this car has quite a nicely done plate texture I preferred the delivered ones ^-^
Furthermore I used *all* available dummies for lights and smoke ... not a single left ...
Btw... there doesn't also fit a single beer crate into that frontal trunk, so ... :P

Ok.. so if you folks want to test the more or less final version of it, here's the zipped new Car.fce, new Car00.tga, the reworked Carp.txt and additionally the Zmodeler file. Feel free to continue with your own improvements or debaucheries if you like to.

Still the AI acceleration data tabs aren't done, that takes some time, so please have mercy on me ..
While testing, don't forget this is rather an OLD or 'historic' car, more than 30 years old, even if it is class AA.
Its performance isn't comparable to nowadays' sports cars like the Diablo or Murcielago or whatever, even if the original Carp.txt that was used is based upon the default Diablo's (LDia) peformance data.

Simply make backup copy of the old Countach's Car.viv and replace the old files in NFSWizard by the new ones (...) and 'save as' Car.viv.

OMG .. Countach vs. German Volkspolizei ('VoPo') LADA 2101 on Bergstraße SE .. What's it gonna be, boy?

.. caught by a couple of '68 VW Bugs on Fangio's Alpenpaß v1.4 (my Germany Nighttrack), what a shame .. probably too much traffic in here ... that's why

Btw .. that's approximately the 'realistic' size of a Countach I saw once .. wasn't much higher than a nearby park bench or so .. :o

So here is an updated Carp.txt for that Countach still. The zip file contains the new Carp.txt with updated AI acceleration tabs, Carp_.txt is done with a bit uhm.. 'well-meaning' AI acceleration data (Diablo-like), Carp0.txt is the previous Carp.txt with the default 'LDia' AI acceleration data for those who might forget to backup the old one ..

It still can keep up with a grid of AA's as I found out in several test races, despite of the car's age ^-^ but for example the Diablo is still a bit quicker.
May not even contradict with the most of us?

Have fun with it ..

The Countach vs. DB7 Vantage and a Dodge Viper GTS (.. even in 'suitable' colours - by chance ..) on my 'Hometown' Night Track: Sergi's fantastic 'Dolphin Valley'.

Still, the Countach is a mid-engine sportscar, so it's probably superior on the handling-side to a lot of newer cars. Just that HS does not really allow for simulating that characteristic.

And I think we've already established that my theory on a car's beer-transporting-capabilities still needs refinement :D

Yes .. and not to forget, it was quite a bit lighter than modern highly-equipped sports cars .. it simply lacks all that modern technique stuff. It's my first AA car in HS I consider as fun to drive, too .. though a bit hard to get in there with my age still ..

.. got that 'back' and 'circulation' thing, you know ;) (cough..)

Uhmm .. just creating a z3D object with the measurements 30x30x40cm .. these are the measurements of an average beer crate ....recently testing if it fits into several cars to verify their 'speshifff..hic' transporting capabilities .. does an empty one also count ¿? ..hupps.
