i prefer automatic, i drive fast, and shift between 4th 5th adn 6th so much i would forget and blow out the transmissions, if the game was real enough you could do that when shifting improperly for too long and the manual would just take to much effort on my part. i drive an automatic in real life, adn then tried to drive my parents BMW, it was so hard, i can still barely get it to shift without jumping it..

Hardware, Software & Technology / Video Card Poll
Dec 12, 2006, 6:02 PM
but if you look into it, a high powered card is only high powered. with these two cards not only do i have twice the speed of a regular 1 gig video ram card (being that they use alternate frame rendering, or each card produces half an image) but also they have more pipelines to transfer the data faster wiht dual transfers it is faster than one mega card. As for a processor, even if i did not get dual video cards, i would still not have enough money, i made this computer with parts i got fomr the internet more or less, for under $1100 canadian, i have yet to see, nor anyone who knows of my computer and its power, a better computer for less money on the market. i will jsut have to wait untill next summer, when i start tog o toowkr again so i can finally finish upgrading.
i meant at the time ATI, i just read now that AMD is now the owner, whoops..

General NFS / What was your favorite part of the NFS series?
Dec 11, 2006, 11:19 AM
What I always find enjoyable in the nfs series is the amount of customization one can put into a car, especially with what some i see on this site work on, as custom vineles and body types. Sure there are games where you can alter the body a bit, and tune your engine. The engine tuning in nfs is like other games, but the almost complete body customization will always play a huge roll in my lvoe for there games.

General NFS / Best Starting Car
Dec 11, 2006, 11:14 AM
It really depends what you want out of the car. If you are looking for decent acceleration, good top speed, and decent handling you would want the Alfa Romeo Brera, the first of the exotic series. if you want something that is realyl strong at handeling, but the acceleration and top speed are not as good, the you would want the Mazda, the first in the tuner series. finally if you want something that is strong at accelerating, but not so good at handeling (aka very drifty, not always a bad thing) and decent top speed you would want the Chevrolet Camaro SS, the first in the Muscle series..

Help/F.A.Q / NFS Carbon Help Needed !!!!!!!!!
Dec 10, 2006, 6:02 PM
what I don't understand is why my need for speed carbon seems to have stutter adn very minor slowdown on the highest settigns fo everything, i'm running on twin 512 mb ati radion x1600 pci express crossfires, unfortunately I only have 1 gig of ddr2 ram, and about a 2.5 gig processor..
any ideas on that?
For more money, when you start the game only buy 3 cars, sometimes even two depending on what cars you like. if your finished try rival crew challenges they will give you 1k each win, to easily get one, i find that taking a car adn ramming a bunch of pedestrian cars of the road in the game will get one quickly for me..

General NFS / The best and the worse car ever eppeared in NFS
Dec 10, 2006, 5:34 PM
Renault Clio V6 is one of the worst looking, the starter camaro ss in carbon i find has terrible handling even for a muscle. I love the Lamborghini Murcielago for its higher speed control. It also seems that everyone loves muscle cars, i feel bad, but the only muscle I have ever liked is the 65, and 69 corvette singray in real life, in games not at all. I guess I just love exotics and tuners too much..

General NFS / NFS Carbon: The car that handles best n worst
Dec 10, 2006, 5:21 PM
i'd have to agree with doggy789, the Camaro SS is possibly the worst controlling car, not as in complerte and utter drifting like other muscle cars, but lack of drift control. No matter what I do, my drifts hit walls with that car, or the tires seem to grip at random times and throw me right into the other wall.
the best? the boss Kenji's car, the mazda rx-7, but those are from only the cars I have driven, I haven't had the chance to drive every single car, i think i still have another 4 tier 3 cars alone yet to unlock and about 8 to buy and drive..

Hardware, Software & Technology / Video Card Poll
Dec 10, 2006, 10:32 AM
I decided to go for the gold when i finally got around to apgrade my computer. So I decided to get an Asus A8R32-MVP deluxe crossfire ready edition, with dual ATI Radion AEX1600 pro 512 mb DDR2 cards for a 1 gig video memory. Unfortunately I had to lower my CPU to a AMD 64 socket 939 3500+ which is only about 2.5 ghz with 1 gig of DDR2 Ram, but I nwill be upgrading that to 4 gigs of ram soon, and a 4800+ dual core soon..
