Off-Topic Discussion / Test Drive Unlimited

I tried the TDU beta on my PC, and it ran fine if a bit glitchy at moments.

That PC's specs:
Athlon 64 4000+/FX-53, 2.61ghz
1gb PC3200
Radeon X1600PRO 512mb(AGP).

I'm currently upgrading since that comp kinda, uh, blew up, so now I'll be able to run it much better!

And yeah, it's harder...that's because it's a simulation and NFS is arcade.  If you tried TDU with a wheel, you'd love it.

Racing & Other Sports / Sepang report
May 18, 2007, 5:59 AM
I assume you had earplugs?  At the US Grand Prix last year, I couldn't hear for a few hours after the first practice sessions...I wore earplugs the other two days :P

Which turn at Sepang were you sitting at? It appears to be Turn 4.

Since July of 2005, I drive a '91 Mercury Grand Marquis.

Most of you probably know that already.

Sin, weren't you once a mod on NFSCars?  Or were you just a friend of the mods?
You sure seemed to get away with a lot more than the rest of the members did.

My issue with NFSCars is inactive staff, and genuine lack of interest from all involved to elect better staff :D

Mike343 tends to promote whoever treats him like a god to staff, while the members who are fed up with it all yell at him, and therefore, in complaining that there IS a problem, remove themselves from the possible staff list.  Mike ignores problems until they're too big to go away, then bans anybody remotely involved, even if they're trying to solve the problem.  There are reasons why I stay away from NFSCars now and go here.  Many reasons.

EDITED FOR FEWER THINGS TO ANGER ZE MIKE343 :p

Hmmm....this power supply calculator thing says I need 604 watts...I think I'm a bit under?

I'm going to look into PSUs.  Does the esteemed RM have any opinions on good ones?

350 watts is enough.

If you live in 1998 with a Pentium II.
....should I take that as "upgrade you %&!*!$ %&!*$ %&%@&%*!"?  :p

But would it cause my issue? :ugh:  I don't want to just run out and throw money at the computer...

Well, I posted this on NFSCars and it's still going at me.

Computer randomly came up with the message "VPU Recover has reset your graphics adapter, Reboot your computer".

I reloaded Windows, and did not install ATi Catalyst.
Now, it randomly locks up.  When I reboot, it flashes a message at me:  "The device driver for ATi Radeon X600 may be causing errors in the system."

Well, and I have a thought....could it be a lack of enough power?  I'm running 4 hard drives, an Athlon FX-53, two video cards, and dual DVD burners off a 350 watt Antec...is that enough?

Thanks!
