Quote from: pete9516 on Mar 09, 2026,  8:39 AMDepending on which kind of texture (format) it is, it has to either be an 8 bit texture or 24bit or whatever. Just have a look at the texture you're replacing and make sure your new one gets the same format. Also make sure to use DXTbmp as it will crop the texture to depending rectangle sizes like 32x64 or 8x32 which is important for track textures. This tool is also capable of creating alpha channels on an 8 bit texture which is kind of a magical feature from this tool which is also very important when working with alpha channels

Ok thank you Pete, I will try DXTbmp and see if it works :)

Help/F.A.Q / NFS 4 texture bug.
Mar 09, 2026, 7:16 AM
So, everytime I replace a texture in an NFS IV track, it goes completely transparant in the game. If I import one of the original game textures there, it works perfectly fine. What is the reason for this?

P.S. I use Adobe Photoshop for texture editing

Quote from: Butch on Mar 04, 2026, 11:59 AMThis year's list is complete. Since people no longer read and write even less....

and about the unique and rare cars.

About the 33 stradale and the Xj13, they have already been created for other games, so I'm waiting to see if anyone will convert them.

Looks like a nice list, even the Mercedes C111 and Isdera Imperator are there!

Quote from: pete9516 on Feb 27, 2026,  1:38 AMHere's another good view of why new cars aren't good nomore: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qX6-LCe3vE
He mainly talks about the steering. What i preferably would moan about is the electronic gas pedals on some newer cars. They give a horrible feeling/response about controlling/managing the throttle

Damn, I want a Porsche 944 now =D
Such a cool ride, and also it's something that seems cheap enough to be obtainable

As for electronics in modern cars - I think you're right on that one.
Electric stuff just makes it feel completely different from mechanic stuff, and that's exactly the reason EVs arent so fun to drive

Quote from: Butch on Feb 26, 2026,  5:48 AMWhy have coupes and convertibles practically disappeared from current car production? At dealerships, there are only SUVs with bug-like front ends and supercars that all look alike and are out of reach. For games, SUVs are love killers, and supercars pass through gamemodel and end up converted into most wanted with vulgar colors... sadness.

Because coupes an cabrios ain't making much money nowadays - your average consumer would rather buy an oversized plastic SUV with tons of display and absolutely no practicality.

Which is kinda sad, really. Back in the day people actually had the ability to buy good, reliable cars like the Mercedes W123-124 and Toyotas of the time.

And now? Plastic SUVs with weakened Inline 3 engines that break down exactly five days after the warranty ends.

Does anyone know if it's possible to replace the ingame music in NFS III?
