Out of lost cars, I found Friendly Software's site, and found LAZ 699R by NightRaven (the one who brought one of few iconic Lancer Evo X mods for MW) and UAZ Classic (aka "Bukhanka") by RoadTrain (the same person who made VAZ-2123 Lada Chevrolet Niva for MW). I suppose the latter of which is the original UAZ 4x4/Classic mod before qtqkqn retextured it (supported by the fact that qtqkqn's UAZ's geometry file was compiled in September 2007, and ATTRIBUTES.MWPS file still has mentions of the original mod). Unfortunately, both of these mods are now considered lost media as I was unable to find any reuploads of these vehicles and we're stuck with qtqkqn's retextured UAZ Classic.

Quote from: pete9516 on Jun 03, 2025,  3:58 PMJust because some random virus application flags a non-virus as a virus doesn't mean that the file is not downloadable. When the link is dead, then it's not downloadable anymore WHEN archive.org didn't save it

True, but it's still quite sad that AV software do mess all of this up when it comes to nfscars archiving. My rim pack is still downloadable, but NFSU1 cars I uploaded on NFSCars are no longer downloadable on archived copy of the site due to inclusion of NFSU-CfgInstaller. It's like AV softwares do hate nfsu360 (the person who made NFSU1 ModTools, which would be eventually replaced with NFS-CarToolkit for geometry and textures, and NFS-CfgEd for wheel positions, which would be replaced by Binary), thinking he was making viruses/trojans/whatever despite the fact that this is just a false positive and his tools bring no harm to your computer.
Since NFSU-CfgInstaller is all the same, this affects every NFSU1 mod featuring that file in the downloaded archives. NFSU2 mods that originally used an older version of NFSU2-CfgInstaller, like all of SPYKE's and RuubW's mods, will disappear from the internet and become lost media afterwards if not saved in time due to false positives found in that tool, which, of course, did eventually happen in 2016 when NFSCars showed us the final redesign, and sadly, almost none of most of old modders have returned (except for cobra0281, and even then, their old missing mods were not even reuploaded, not even by themselves), and most of the modders back then didn't bother uploading their mods to anywhere else than NFSCars (remember: if you want to keep your mod online, remember to upload it on anywhere else as well, since uploading only on a site that will eventually shut down will turn the mod into lost media (especially if you eventually go dormant as well), which, of course, did happen with Driving Passion (formerly GTRCars), taking every Porsche4ever/VictorSE's and Normo's mods with it (Porsche4ever/VictorSE's mods would be later reuploaded to his own blog, while Normo didn't even resurface)).

The problem is that all of my NFSU1 cars are no longer downloadable from nfscars archive anymore, because it contained NFS-CfgInstaller that is recognized by Anti-Virus Softwares as virus, but this is actually just a false positive.

A static archive of NFSCars has got you covered:
https://www.nfs-cars.com/need-for-speed-hot-pursuit-2/4/downloads/authors/cars/1/U/
The site above contains content released up to 2021 because it is based on an archived copy of NFSCars contents as of 2021, anything beyond that year is now lost forever as long as it's not uploaded to NFSMods or NFSAddons.

From what I know, the only way to get rid of these cars is to make a new save game.

Help/F.A.Q / Re: addon cars are invisible
Feb 21, 2025, 3:50 PM
You cannot have that many cars actually, because DBModelParts limit has been reached and exceeded, and from that point on, the game will no longer allow you to add any more addon vehicles, as they will no longer be rendered after DBModelParts limit has been exceeded. The only way to resolve it is to remove some of the cars by either choosing to uninstall option of the car you want to uninstall or, if the car does not have uninstall option, remove them manually by removing their data from CarTypeInfos, Collisions, and DBModelParts from GlobalB using Binary and their nodes from pvehicle, ecar, and every performance nodes (brakes, chassis, engine, induction, tires, transmission; as long as no other car shares the same nodes) from Vlt using NFS-VltEd or Attribulator/OGVI.
You can also look deeper into vanilla cars' DBModelParts and remove any part that is not used by them. Vanilla racer cars don't have parts labelled DAMAGE_0, DAMAGE_1, and ATTACHMENTn in their models, and they don't have anything related to the KIT06 (the non-existing sixth bodykit), but they still have parts of it in form of Damage Scratches and Decals. You can also remove some bodykit slots not used by the car model itself:
  • Most cars (20) have 5 bodykits, so listing them all would be pretty much exhaustive, and I would suggest you to not remove any bodykits
  • 911TURBO, CORVETTE, CTS, GALLARDO, GTI, IS300, PUNTO, and VIPER all have 4 bodykits each, so you can remove every KIT05 part from DBModelParts
  • CARRERAGT, FORDGT, MURCIELAGO, and SLR all have 2 bodykits each, so you can remove every KIT03 to KIT05 parts
  • 911GT2, BMWM3GTR, BMWM3GTRE46, CAMARO, CORVETTEC6R, and SL65 all have no bodykit nor hood customization, so you can delete every KIT01 to KIT05 parts and every hood style except for KIT00_HOOD
Oh, and by the way, we already had a thread about it right here: https://www.nfsaddons.com/forums/index.php?topic=2714.0

The Roof Scoop marker should be assigned to KIT00_ROOF part. If the car model in question doesn't have one (i.e. roof model is merged with base model), you can just create a simple plane or cube inside the car model (more specifically in parts where that thing can't be seen, like under the wheel arches but placed on center on X (Left/Right) axis) and name it "KIT00_ROOF" (without quotation marks).
In the files I attached, you can see that my Audi S4's ROOF_SCOOP marker is attached to KIT00_ROOF part, and the roof scoop marker/mountpoint works as it should. :D

Hello.
Since your (old) account was hacked and made it post some suspicious links (as it is already said here when trying to log into your now hacked account, ban reason highlighted in bold), NFSAddons staff had to ban your account in case of safety. You might ask Mike or LRF to unban it.

Found an interesting site that reuploaded some of the old vehicles for NFSU2 (some links like the one of Scion tC redirect you to the wrong car):
http://www.modgaming.ru/nfs-underground-2/nfsu2-auto/
Caution: contains repackaged zip files without readme files and sometimes incorrect author names.

As far as I know, NFSAddons was NFSGarage long time ago, and is still living this day.

Quote from: ZENESYS_316 on Jul 25, 2024, 10:10 PMNFSCARS,and some more I can't remember...
For NFSCars, I don't know what caused it to shut it down, but since most mods were uploaded only on that site due to it was more popular over 10 years ago and are exclusive to NFSCars, the sudden closure of NFSCars made most mods to become lost media, because let's face it, some media becoming lost is something we don't really want. Some people like Ikfes and AJM3899 made their mods exclusive to NFSCars (for now and as far as I know). Hope NFSCars will come back some time later, but if it won't, well...
For other sites, I remember there were also NFSUnlimited dot net (not to be confused with NFS Unlimiter) and DrivingPassion (formerly GTRCars). The former site is barely if even active site since they weren't active for the most of the time, and of course, it had few mods, but many, if not all of the links are suffering from link rot, and the latter is where it had some exclusive mods like Normo's Evo X for NFS Underground 1, but during mid-2010s, it suddenly went down, and any mods exclusive to GTRCars/DrivingPassion are taken with the website itself (VictorSE/Porsche4ever's mods were reuploaded by the mod creator himself on his site after DrivingPassion's closure (yes, DP was a home of P4e's mods before P4e made his own blogspot site))

But wait, there's more I could find while searched archived versions of NFSCars site. The 575 GTC for NFSU1 is one of the lost cars I've overlooked, so it has been added to the list (and intentionally bumped the topic just to know that there were more lost cars I could find). No working link of it ever exists, sadly.

Help/F.A.Q / Re: Trouble with Unlimiter v4
Jul 04, 2023, 11:49 PM
Quote from: The Audi Guy on Jul 04, 2023,  9:57 PM
Hello, i have a problem installing Unlimiter v4 in NFS Most Wanted.
In the first step says this:
"Install the script; essential car parts, string and texture data for the new menu options using Binary: (Compatible with v2.8.3 and up)"

But when I try to install the scripts from the CarParts, Strings and Textures folders, I get the error:
"Enscript version was of invalid format, expected [VERSN1]

Does anyone know how to fix the problem?I'm trying to install it in a new nfs, without modloader.

I think you selected the wrong file that is located in "Binary" folder of Unlimiter v4, which also contains cleverly named dummy file called "Nothing to see here, move along", which means that you are not supposed to go there for Binary endscripts, as all of these endscripts in this folder are VERSN2 endscripts only. Like Aftermrket said, you're supposed to select "_NFSMW-Unlimiter-Part1-Binary.end", which is located outside "Binary" folder and is VERSN1 endscript. You know, people selecting the wrong endscript file might be not that uncommon thing, since I remember I saw some messages with people in Discord getting the same problem.

Bumped intentionally because I found the name of the author of lost '69 Charger mod (the one that replaces IS300). The author itself (maxXR) is still offline and so the car I mentioned (their other two cars, Freightliner and Kamaz, are still up on NFSCars)

In a very similar fashion as its predecessor and successor (Underground 1 and Most Wanted respectively), some Underground 2 mods will eventually go into obscurity, and most of them are offline, usually due to inclusion of NFS-CfgInstaller, which Antivirus Softwares claim it as virus (which is actually a false positive as this is harmless tool). Again, if the car has been found after being lost since those years, the text will be crossed out like this.
Because there are creators who are not willing to reupload most if not all of their countless cars (if they made many of them), I decided to split this into two categories: specific lost cars, and specific authors/creators whose most or all of their creations are lost.

Specific cars that are yet to be rehosted or lost completely:
Dodge Charger by maxXR: showcased by RASTAKITTEN of U4G. Currently, you can't find this specific version of the mod on NFSCars anymore. As far as I know, it replaces Lexus IS300 and had some kind of customization (including vinyls, with some bugged UV mapping). Until June 18, 2023, I never knew that the author was maxXR before visiting RASTA's video via Internet Archive's Wayback Machine (I linked the archived link to it yet you can't download anything yet). Not to mention about the fact that this one is the rarest '69 Charger for Underground 2, as for most of the time you will find RuubW's Charger instead.

Specific authors whose some, most, or all of their mods are offline and yet to be rehosted:
RuubW: the well known mod creator known for making various mods converted from later NFS games, ranging from Most Wanted to Undercover. Only few mods exist online, because they are meant to upload all of their mods to NFSCars only, and thanks to NFSCars site redesign, most of their mods are gone for the reason I explained earlier.
SPYKE: another well known mod creator, they are known for making cars converted from Forza (back when Riva's rips existed). Usually they are prone to crashing due to high texture resolution (before NFSU2 Unlimiter kicked in). All of their mods are gone for good from NFSCars. I don't remember where those cars are rehosted.
cobra0281: some or most of their cars are completely gone from NFSCars. Included for the sake of completeness.
kas_87: same thing as cobra0281 (still wish to get kas' Subaru Impreza 555 from DiRT 1 for NFSU2).

General NFS / Re: Lost Most Wanted Car Mods
May 10, 2022, 10:49 PM
Bumped, but as of today, all of Saikou/Ademo's cars are no longer available, as if you check the cars from there...:
https://www.nfscars.net/need-for-speed-most-wanted/7/downloads/list/cars/1/author/saikou/3064/
...none of them have green "Download" button. I wish I've could to download his Abflug Supra, yet I wish Saikou/Ademo never deleted download access to his mods.
