General NFS / Re: Lost Most Wanted Car Mods
Apr 01, 2024, 3:26 AM
Not worth the bump, but I contacted LRF Modding first since he made a showroom screenshot with it and the mod was only a couple years old at the time it was taken down:
https://www.nfsaddons.com/showroom/nfsmw/6087/lrf-modding-2010-lotus-exige-cup-260.html

I'm always on the lookout for cars that fit the Black Box aesthetic and the general era that Most Wanted takes place. The model seems to originate from World, although it wasn't a launch car, so I'm not certain if one would need Ninja Ripper to grab the model or otherwise.

It seems whoever AlbinoBuffalo80 was had a major falling out with the rest of the community and pulled everything offline, including the Exige.

On a similar note, I'm also interested in Neon245's Mercedes SL55 AMG:

Just putting this post out there in case anyone has either of these cars lying around on a drive somewhere.

Hi Alex_97 I just got your files,Cars are these for nfs3 or 4hs?
Some of them were originally made for NFS3, others for NFS4, but they were converted to Re-Volt and Midtown Madness 2 and then the original files for NFS disappeared, meaning this is all we have now. They need to be converted back to NFS before they can be loaded up correctly again. I know there's a tutorial on converting NFS4 cars to Re-Volt, but not the other way around so I wouldn't have the slightest clue on what to do with them to get them back in the game they were originally made for. I just hope Heavyshell will know what to do with the files I put together.

Some of you may remember a site belonging to Christian Pittet at http://www.lespittet.com/

A few months ago, he remade his site entirely, deleting his NFS3 archive in the process.
Luckily back in 2013 I downloaded his whole collection in the very event that were to happen.
There's over 829 cars in the attached .rar, some are good, some are bad, and some are ugly. Keep in mind that the archive is from 1999 after all. There may or may not be some cars made by Ryuji Kainoh inside, but I don't recall seeing anything that I haven't already seen. I decided to upload the archive today in light of recent events.

Also, one thing that didn't occur to me immediately but really should have is that Ryuji Kainoh's cars aren't very, well, complete for lack of a better term. They seem to me as if they're basic conversions from NFS3 with the typical low-poly HS "driver" interior added to make it fit in with the rest of the default cars. They don't have upgrades or an interior. A little idea I conjured up in my head is to perhaps make alternate versions of RK's original cars that combine three cars into one file (for example: The Evo II and Evo III could be upgrades to the Evo I instead of being three separate cars), and to put in an interior, just to make them fit in better with EA's default cars. Only problem I got with that is the test interior I decided to put on his Veyron (McLaren F1 GTR) is blank for some reason, the model loads but the texture doesn't. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Regarding Pittet's archive, I decided to throw caution to the wind as it was only 800MB and am currently it to my MediaFire. I'll make a new thread for when it finishes in a couple hours' time.

And here's a link to Ryuji's MM2 and Revolt collection (minus the Torneo Type-R, didn't even know about that one and was disappointed when I found out that the download on NFSCars was corrupted) just to make sure we're all on the same page:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/pqatyqju5jjacmi/RK_-_Revolt_and_MM2.rar

And finally, just to clarify, what program edits .qfs files? I feel I could re-create some of the lost vidwalls from cars such as those that were converted to Re-Volt if I can find the same photo that Ryuji used back in the day.

So I decided to come here after seeing the thread on NFSCars though I was going to come here and state my intentions eventually.

Originally my plan was to quietly obtain Markus Dippold's CD and release the files publicly with help from this very community. As you all know the only way to get the "Downloads" on his site is through ordering a DVD. Unfortunately I have had to adjust my plans forward to jump on board this ongoing project as soon as possible, through no-one's fault intentionally. Let's just say great minds think alike.

Below is a link to a screenshot of Kainoh's Cima converted to MM2 that I found a couple weeks ago when I embarked on my own, separate mission in obtaining all of his available cars. Shouldn't be that hard to find though I can provide a link if necessary. You'll also find his Maxima, in addition to a couple other cars.

It seems Heavyshell's taking care of the restorative modelling which is good as I have practically zero experience in 3D modelling for games such as NFS, though I do wish to have as useful of a role as I can possibly muster as this is probably going to be the last ever search for previously undiscovered Kainoh content for NFS3/4.

And now, a little bit of unrelated news:

In July 2013, I decided to use DownThemAll on Christian Pittet's NFS3 site in the very event that his archive did vanish from the internet. Lo and behold, 2 years later, that very thing happened and now you can no longer publicly download his car collection from anywhere on the internet, and I'll be more than glad to help diffuse the relics of NFS3 history among the community. The only problem is, a grand majority of the files stored inside are without papers, so to speak, so if they were to be uploaded here they wouldn't be attributable to any author in particular. I already checked every car by the way a few weeks ago, there does not appear to a single Kainoh car in there, though you are all free to check.

EDIT: I should mention, as I did on the NFSCars thread through a different account, that the NFS3 section on the attached text file was deliberately left almost empty as I had intended to go through Markus' archive once it was in my hands which is why there are so few in comparison to the other sections.
