Though those carp's from Freak-DS' cars could need a big update

Ouch! That hurts! The intention of making the cars behaving as they do was to get the experience as close to the real cars as possible. The idea was to recreate a feeling of playing NFS5 and not such an arcadish driving game as NFS4. To get these old Porsches as tailhappy and hard to drive as they are was the result of very hard work of many days each. And every single part of the Carp.txt is as close to the real car as possible: Highspeed, acceleration, deceleration and steering behavior are absolutely correct on every car and caused soooo much work, that caused me to get tired of doing it what somehow was one reason for the end of TeamRSR. So: Sorry that you don´t like it

I think Pete9516  just didn't like the carp. Which is just an opinion (arguable indeed)

But this is a very nice SOTD, I don't care about Pete not liking the carp.....

And this is a very nice SOTD, who cares about Noise not caring about Pete not liking the carp.....

Well I do believe it hurts when you were involved in the making of this car, these pretty useless opinions show up.

I'm sorry you got that wrong, actually i was talking about the performance tabs from the carps which are definitely not very close to the real life cars, i'm totally fine though with the handling of Freak-DS' cars

You guys need to know that i am a performance nerd, since one can simulate the acceleration, gear ratios and top speed of a car in HS really well, i like them to be as realistic as possible and they're just not on Freak-DS' cars, that's it, the models are the best there ever are and ofcourse i like the handling of those cars as well, those are very characteristic for Freak-DS' cars

Well... Since I am the person who is responsible for most of the performance files of FreakDS´cars I can tell You that I always did my very best to get all the data as correct as possible. I tested every car on at least 3 different but pretty flat tracks as GT1, GT2 and Fangios "Deadly Outback" to get the highspeed in every gear and the acceleration table always right for 0-100kmh, 0-160kmh, 400m and 1000m. That was quite hard as you have to make some compromises as the times always differ on the different tracks by default. I just found a picture of proof from back in 2009 when this Porsche RS was almost finished to tell FreakDS that I was finished and proud of what I did:

Well i don't know how modding has been back in the day but i guess you did a great job, though the times have changed and there is automobile-catalog.com and very precise data, you can even reproduce the torque curve very precisely and gear efficiencies ranging from 0.4 - 1.2 are just not really realistic if you ask me, having a proper torque curve and the right top speed of the car allows you to use gear efficiencies all through 1.0 and in the end the table times would fit to the realistic values IF you take a track which is flat and Deadly Outback is not if i remember correct, also Deadly Outback, Raceway 1 and 2 are way too short to test top speed driving, now there's Runway Loop from AJ, back in the day there has been Xtra Tracks from the very beginning. I wish you would try one of my carp's and tell me what you think from them

GMorning  I been Fine tuning a Carp.txt I like the 8 gears better it says in there. Reverse an neutral so 6 speeds. It's not insane does about 185mph is all an in game Gear Ratios, at 80% so I'm still tuning it.

Steering is getting better to. Based off AJ_L ,996 PU lastest. Just for testing, is all. Making it better for my own use.

Wow it finally stopped raining here after 2 long days of it. Nice shot here I guess.  😶‍🌫️
