NJ's cars are the best I've seen in a while since PoliceGarage shutdown and some are low poly enough to use as traffic replacements..But I don't know how he maps them..I was gonna do a cruiser from one of his but the TGA to it is in bits and pieces. There are a few other authors that do it this way too..I prefer the style that has 2 sides in the TGA (Left/Right and the hood and trunk views as well..Makes modding easier incase you want them to represent a certain area or country.
Yep, but like that you would have lower quality because NJ layouts his texture in a way that the largest decals on the car have the best quality. Actually this doesnt make modding difficult, you just need to know how to remap a mesh.
Exactly. Using the obsolete method of complete textures per side as Paul Spain described will result in MUCH lower quality. I don't necessarily want my cars to be modding friendly but good looking.
XJ220:Maybe once I get better I'll try the way you do it but til then I have to stick with what I know how to do. I also am using a OLD program (PhotoImpact 4.2) for texture modding..Easy to use but way outdated..from 1999.
