In this topic, you can show your control configuration in NFS games or other driving games for PC you have with Keyboard or Joystick.
I have NFSMW, Carbon, NFSU2, and Pro Street (for PC). And also I have MC2 for PC. My control configuration in NFS games (And also MC2) with keyboard is:
NFSMW:
Accelerate: C
Brake: X
Nitrous: Z
Speedbreaker: D
Shift up: S
Shift down: A
Steer right: Right arrow
Steer left: Left arrow
Look back: B
Handbrake: Spacebar
Camera Change: V
View Blacklist: G
Next Music: T
Reset Car: R
View Map: M
View Message: Tab
Weight Transfer: Left Shift (In MC2)
Thats all.
By the way, in NFS games and MC2 for PC, I use keyboard only just because I don't have a joystick for PC. And also, you can put other driving games you have with your control configuration.
I mostly use the keyboard of NFS3, 4 and 5.
Accelerate: up arrow
Brakes: Down arrow
Emergency Brake: spacebar
Shift: a for up and z for down
the other controls I usually leave alone.
I always use a gamepad for driving games.
It's not a ps one, but just to make me understand:
Accelerate: Cercle
Brake: Triangle
Nitrous: L2
Speedbreaker (In NFSMW and Carbon): Square
Shift up: R1
Shift down: L1
Steer right: Right arrow
Steer left: Left arrow
Look back: Cross
Handbrake: R2
Reset Car: Select
Menu or Pause: Start
Change View: L3
Enter or Accept: R3
Quick menus (like maps, sms, blacklist, etc...): Joysticks
I've been always using this configuration, with some small variations depending of the game...but it works for NFS, Toca series (grid and Dirt) and TDU.
I made another NFS game control configuration, it is Carbon. Here it is:
Accelerate: V (I can't seem to put C in Accelerate button. For some reason I usually use C in Accelerate button in other NFS games like NFSMW and Pro Street. The problem is the C button is the Camera change and cannot be configured.) :(
Brake: X
Nitrous: Z
Speedbreaker: F
Activate Crew Member/Wingman: D
View Map: M
View SMS Messages: Tab
Look behind: L (Cannot be configured, its just the default configuration of Look behind button.)
Engage Event: Enter
Reset Car: R
Shift Up: Up arrow
Shift Down: Down arrow
And thats the NFS Carbon control configuration of mine except View Map, View SMS Messages, Engage Event and Reset Car. The rest of the other controls cannot be configured:
Look Behind
Change Camera
hello....hello i didnt say it twise.
we highly recommend to ever1 to forget about keyboard. Use wheel, if you dont have a wheel play on analog sticks on any gamepad (for cornering). Keyboard used for quick acces of your hands to it.
keyboard config is recommend 1 step right from standard, it useful, it accurate, it will grant acces to any other game
standard was Q W E
A S D
new is WER
SDF

That is all.
Other side of wheel variations is - Small, plastic screw fixation, gearbox at least with 2 dir., large amount of side buttons (i have 12 buttons & hulf of them just isnt working in SIM mode that presents analouge driving in X&Y axies :p), vibration, only way u can enjoy driving and increase you skill its vibration - remember that!, Rubber on sides of wheel in the middle x axis of physical cyrcle (called wheel) (stop pay for all rubber - its all in vain...and money). Most high priced wheels are black....i dont know why but u should. good luck.
(my wheel also had sensivity calibration directly on wheel. It can be done by entering special mode when holding 9s,10s buttons. Sensivity can be set to Normal,High,Slow....depends of how quick blinks diode on the wheel.)
God! for 300bucks of g25 we can buy at least logitech chillstream 50$ + gamming keyboard logitech 180$ (?)
(ToyotaWish) Good luck dude;)

Yup, that's true. I wanted a challenge for myself, cause the arrow keys were too easy.
also for a challenge good:
num5 - up
num1 - left
num3 - right
that config good for R6VEGAS1 also a challenge for...and if ull look closer good to use right hand that GASing as optioned hand that can use additional control like headlights -insert, horn - *, gear up -big+, geardown - small enter....et.c.....u see all keyboard from left a free for chatting and enjoy the STUFF.

I'm better at using my custom control configuration (Shown as above) in driving games, so the standard control configuration isn't my style. Sometimes, it gets me the feeling that arrow keys doesn't look nice to me in driving games, especially accelerate and brake/reverse.
By the way, the device that I used in driving games is Keyboard.
Heres tip for keyboard gamers.
Yeasterday ive got new keyboard to my mouse , now its both A4Tech X7. A4Tech is my favorite periphery brand. I truely respect that company. Their products for gamers that i know is truely amazing - b/c easy, enough powerful and always amazing physical construction. Its priced 30$ in my country, full name of the my keyboard model X7 G700. Perhaps this brand isnt based for West gamers perhaps not.
Ive notice sweet spacebar that short and on positon of previwes spacebar sides now is HOME on left and END on right sides. Ive notice harmony of every button position. If look from distance its small and looks like normal keyboard but its has programable buttons, and 1 most important for me its turning left windows button OFF. For the people with kids itll be lovely for young gamers. It has removeble buttons in red rubber from ASDW and it can be placed on any position. (3 years old kids always mixing this up)...thats not all. So pple that think they cannot buy g25 now might think in all different way.:bigthumb:
For the longest time it was this:
Accelerate: Up Arrow
Brake: Down Arrow
Steer right: Right arrow
Steer left: Left arrow
Nitrous: Spacebar
Speedbreaker (In NFSMW and NFSC): Numpad 0
Shift up: A
Shift down: Z
Look back: Right Ctrl
Handbrake: Right Shift (This is handbrake if the game doesn't have nitrous)
Reset Car: R
Menu or Pause: Esc
Change View: C
Enter or Accept: Enter

Whats annoying? Handbrake? Spacebar is quite big. SO i wanted something small. :p
I don't have the time to post an explanation of my gamepad setup, so I'll probably do that tonight.
Here's my NFS4 keyboard setup (I only use this when gamepad is not available)
Notice I use one hand for steering and accelerating, and the other for braking and shifting. I need to be able to brake going around corners while still holding full throttle... ;)
