Is it?
Well to me at least, any form of motorsport is a sport
I agree. Sitting for hours in that car, concentrated, going at high speeds, you need to be trained, athletic. So it's a sport.
Ok.because you know that busch beer comercial where it says "Nascar may not be a sport, but a way of life"
definatly a sport.
?Uh-oh!Who voted no?
sport in a way that its not as easy as may seem to endure the constant pressure of G forces in the turns and all
but life style can be justified as well, after all a sport can be a lifestyle, look at some skateboarders for example
Non Athletic Sport Centered Around Rednecks.
Okay.
Your stupidity never ceases to amaze me...
But it's an automotive sport.
sport? yes.
one i like? no.

i'd put it the other way around
rednecks centered around a non athletic sport
even if it does have a few sporting caracteristics, its by far not the best sport invented by mankind (but there is worse, have no fear)
This did not call for any personal opinions and generalizations at all. So please keep them to yourselves
well i found out that nascar next year is going to look like NFS UG 2. :( :(
shouldnt be a problem since your sig says ug2 player
I know but those Chevys and Charders would look like shit. :(
wow they change the spoiler and aerodynamic kits and you call it NFSU2? wtf
LMAO.You get a good look.
LMAO, saw the experimental car at Talladega so stfu
FMA
Full Metal Alchemist?
Fuck my ass?
Either way, both FMA's suck and not worth the time or effort...
Fuck My ass.
youre ok? duuude...
Technically, NASCAR is a sport according to my computer's dictionary.
1 an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others. 2 informal a person who behaves in a good or specified way in response to teasing, defeat, etc. 3 success or pleasure derived from an activity such as hunting. 4 dated entertainment; fun.

word!...and whatever ,why are we discussing if an actual RACING SPORT is a sport??...
i dont agree with your comps definition, because for me a sport is an activity which involves a minimum of physical effort or physical sentsations
i would say racing is a sport for sure then, because those drivers are some times athletes, dunno about nascar, but f1 drivers are pretty fit
and MotoGP has got to be a sport, when you see how wild those bikes are
not counting on the thrill of speed which makes anything a sport
what about high concentration?
and believe it or not, but controlling a car at 150 and up to 200+ mph can be very physically demanding, especially after 500 and 600 miles long, especially since it's done during the sumer months of 70-100+ degrees outside, I can only imagine what it's like inside those cars.
Even a 3 and a half hr trip up to Malaysia at 110kmh is pretty tiring... just ask my dad
And during that you can open your windows, you wear no helmet, you can stop and have a break. A motor sport driver should better not stop to go to a toilet...
NASCAR - National American Sports Car.
Its racing, and racing is a sport, no matter what is used.

I think there was an F1 driver who lost a race because he wanted to, er, go to the bathroom. :P
And NASCAR is a sport. The guy who posted this topic (who should be banned from here, BTW) probably thinks it isn't because most of the tracks in the series are ovals. Well, NASCAR runs on circuits, too.

Wha...? Not even close. National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing. Those aren't sports cars in any sense of the term, not with the weight!
