3.5 gallons of 87 octane gasoline for my dad's explorer.

With gas at about $3USD a gallon, we're trying to save money by constantly keeping it full of fuel.

doesn't that make your car heavier -> more gas consumption -> less money saved ?  :dunno:

With Diesel engines, you'll save money. In Europe, we have got 80% of diesel cars, hehe.
If you think petrol is expensive in the USA, come to Europe... :D

Well, when you factor in that when magazines/websites test cars, they weigh them when they're full of fuel.

Plus, that would only apply if my dad's explorer was full of fuel and we had a bunch of unecessary cargo, in the trunk, which we don't.

Don't know... There were 13 pages and I asked for glossy paper i suppose (hopefully would get higher marks with gloss paper), then had it binded. When I went last year (same shop), 15 pages + binding only cost me $12!!! I had no idea the price would be so bloody inflated!!!
