Title: DR's Modeling Garage - 1990 Volkswagen Caddy
Post by: Dark Ritual on Jul 30, 2007, 1:58 AM
Many of you saw on NFSCars already. But I will be posting here too. Also, I had a 328 started earlier but that will be on hold.

So here are the current pics for the updates. This wasn't going to be a high poly car. Remember, I am just only beginning to model. So go easy on me.

Update #1:
Polycount: 93

Update #2:
Polycount: 101

Update #3:
Polycount: 171

Update #4:
Polycount: 202

And here's the latest update atm.

Update #5:
Polycount: 371

Lemme ask you guys though, should I make the door handles or just model simple squares and texture them with fake door texture?

Gimme some opinions guys. I might even let this car into NFS Games.

I'd suggest the UG2 method - use a texture for the "hole" behind the door handle and use a 3D door handle. Looks pretty good and isn't that hard to do.

BTW that's a good choice for a first (or second) car :)
