Title: Jeez! What is wrong with NFS:C!?
Post by: HotRod225 on Jul 18, 2007, 12:23 PM
Read the title. Whenever I drive any car at the Morgan Beach Offramp track, there's a glitch, that whenever I drive it to the first checkpoint, it freezes, and I have to reset it. After the next checkpoint, it's all black. PLEASE HELP! I have a used PS2, and I have played my NFS:C really hard. I'm afraid it might be the disc, and my mom won't let me get another disc!

:((

Google for PS2 laser cleaning that involves taking apart the console. Or, if you're too chicken to take apart your PS2, just get a new one, $150 isn't that much now a days.

If the disc is lightly scratched, you might think of looking into acquiring a cd or dvd scratch repair kit, whichever is aplicable but I dunno if they can be used on PS2 discs.  Maybe someone here can elaborate on my suggestion.

They do work, PS2 discs are DVD-ROM's.

Or, if you want a more primative, yet effective solution (if done correctly), dab a little bit of toothpaste on the bottom of the disc, and using a soft rag (a lint-free/microfiber cloth works best) buff it in to the disc, until there are no signs of the tooth paste left.

I heard about this somewhere on the net, & I decided to try it on a few of my PS1 games, to my surprise it actually worked!

lol... the wonders of toothpaste... effective burns lotion, mess tin cleaner, and now CD cleaner, plus it's good for your teeth! :D

Yeah.there is fine, fine silica in the tooth paste, so no wonder it buffs out scratches.
