Title: dds files wont open
Post by: Australian made on Mar 18, 2007, 12:39 AM
hi there
i'm new around these parts, but not new to editing etc

my problem is that someone has made a texture i'd really like to use on a car, but when i try to open it in psp7 it keeps giving me an error, it doesn't do it to all textures of this format only MW custom vinyls

i'm using the latest dds plugins from nvidia and psp7 (too lazy to update) is there something i'm missing here or is it just that it doesn't like my paint program as such

thanks alot.

Use Adobe Photoshop 7 instead. Thats a nice program. But you will need to download .dds plugin for it.

Get Photoshop CS2 trial, and then it should be very easy to activate ;)

well... did you download loque's mwtex yet? (for import/exporting vinyls) also... if you want to edit a vinyl you'll need the .dds plugin for photoshop... not sure which version but not cs2 for sure... i've tried it. but if you just wanted to try a vinyl you downloaded for a car... then open the vinyls.bin or w/e it's called in the cardata file in the nfsmw program files with mwtex. well... if you dl mwtex... instructions should come with it about how to load vinyls. you can find it at nfscars... in the tools subsection under nfsmw. it works well but i don't exactly edit.
