Aside from the reconstruction of the C6...I am now starting a new project. I need more Dodge's modeled, so I am starting the 2nd gen Dodge Dakota. Which is a truck I have. I'm not sure if I should make it stock and/or my actual after market truck.
Here is update 1:

Update 2 :)
I really like it, keep it up
its not A truck you have, its THE truck you have :)...just dont make it red :p
- Rick.
This one is just for you, Rick. ;)
What aftermarket parts do you have? I think you once posted about a bullbar you wanted to buy. That's definitely something every truck needs :bigthumb: I'm looking forward to seeing more progress!
OH NOES! ugly :/
heh cant wait for all the details to add, man! and tell sinister about it, he wanted me to model such a truckm thanks for taking over the mission :p
- Rick.

Update 3:
funny how i thought that is NOT the same car just cause of the front fender that you modelled, but now the front fender line seems to be correct :)
btw...youre modelling it part by part? good choice!
- Rick.
hope it comes with the fuzzy dice!
Quote from: Mikehope it comes with the fuzzy dice!
lol! and don't forget the smelly tree. lol i don't like red trucks... it's really typical especially with a truck such as the dakota... but w/e, you're just making it red to bug rick ^^
muhaha :D Gotz the hood on
(http://www.nfscars.net/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=8488&d=1174186436)
Update 5:
3,851 polies so far.
Very nice :bigthumb:
Makes me want to model my dad's 2006 Ram... :D
Wow... you're really smoothing it as much as possible  And please add all the mods it has in reality!
thats his primary objective :)
- Rick.
for just under 4k polies... looks good ^^ consider making it for nfsmw and use it as traffic... or just drive for racing.
well DanR.. will it be a game model???? may be for MW?
Of course it will. Hopefully just low enough for NFS4.
Update 6 @ 5,037 polies
(http://www.nfscars.net/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=8490&d=1174253628)
wow... first of all... it should be just perfect for nfs4... then when you have time, add a ton of detail then it will be perfect for nfsmw!!!
quality work as always dan keep up the great job bro.:bigthumb:

5,37 polies is a strange count...heh, but a good one.
lovely details...come on, finish it already, i wanna see its full deal :)
- Rick.
Update 7 and I'm currently at 5,917 polies.
Looking even better. Cant wait to see it with wheels and stuff. :D
You gonna go for a full 3d bottom?
Yea prolly just for me, and everyone else to see..in image form. I think it may be too many polies for inagme, lol. I will still have some underbody showing. Leaf springs..frame..exhaust pipes..axle..all that kinda stuff. :)
Update 8:
This...is taking a longass time. It's currently at 7,509 polies
(http://www.nfscars.net/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=8492&d=1174373076)
:)
(where is the uploaded pic..? :dunno: )
Those textures are amazing... and the smoothness of the model... :eek3:
the headlights look very real and the front grille is looks really tough and smooth. and the hood looks very detailed in shape.
dan... don't worry lol... you want the quality in your quantity ^^ and it's looking good so keep up the good work!
too soon to texture!!
- Rick.
Never! I need it to be anyways. Easier on me.
Update 9: Rims, Tires, and Rear Bumper
I don't know about NFS4 anymore guys :(
(http://www.nfscars.net/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=8497&d=1174539950)
who cares for NFS4? 6 and MW are the go. :)
- Rick.

That's a shame, but then again, it'd be a shame to reduce this beauty's quality.

Lot of people do, since you're actually able to add cars
Update 10: Many new parts... :)

looking damn good... whats the polycount so far?
that's nice... what sort of engine are u gonna put in?
dan, did you notice it looks way better in grey/silver than in red? :p
- Rick.
Quote from: RiCkTdan, did you notice it looks way better in grey/silver than in red? :p

No red is better:squint:
Quote from: Power^Steer|nGlooking damn good... whats the polycount so far?
I think it's 17,091
Quote from: Car Freakthat's nice... what sort of engine are u gonna put in?
Well...my engine is a 4.7L, sooo..it's going to be that.
Quote from: RiCkTdan, did you notice it looks way better in grey/silver than in red? :p
- Rick.
Only for Zmod. Ingame red looks so much hotter...it's even hotter than your mom. :)
my mom is fat, fool.
whatever...bro...i want it silver, white or black, if you do it red, ill hate you for the next 25 seconds!
- Rick.
looks pretty good. for some reason... something's telling me that there's a full 3d interior, 3d engine, and 3d bottom coming up haha lol jk. your choice. but it would be nice.
well..let's say..semi 3d. :) But I am detailing the interior and stuff. As well as under body parts. Possibly a basic engine as well. I'm thinking of extending the current exhaust piping to a y-pipe and the headers
Update 11: :D
Many new things such as:
- Glass
- Lug nuts
- Tire Texture
- Tail Light Texture
- Fog/Bull Bar Lights
- 3D Headlights with glass (tho unnoticeable in ZMod)
- Fixed up front bumper cover..yet still needs more work.
- Anything else that's different..
Still to come..oh there are still plenty more:
- Skid Plate for the Bull Bar
- Drivetrain (yes the whole thing which includes the engine and it's components all the way to the - Differential)
- 3D Interior
- More mod to the front bumper cover
- Bed Floor
- Wheel wells
- Frame
- Handles
- Gas tank lid
- Weather Stripping
(http://www.nfsaddons.com/forums/attachment.php?item=16&download=1)
as I said earlier on IM, tires look great :) can't wait to drive it
Can't wait to sit in it.
@Dan please put a person along with the car's driver. :D He will be one of the luckiest drivers who sits in this. ;)
@RickT I 2 don't like it red. Dan put only in silver & red. From that I preferred red. Otherwsie I would prefer black. :eek3: :p
the original car is in a really ugly (soorry :/) red color...yeah well it wouldnt make too much sense posting a zmod pic with the car in black, you wont hardly see anything :/...
- Rick.
Thx for teh comments guys :D
Update 12: Frame, leafs springs, and differential
(http://www.dodgeforum.com/upfiles/45124/5B517268913F461385981ACCF2647BCB.jpg)
Some of those things need better normals (e.g. detachments and recalculation) but I'm sure you're on top of things already.
Have you thought about connecting the load floor and its ribs? As this is obviously no HS project anymore, you could make your model look even better here. Anyway, you're doing a great job!
Thats really nice looking. Where did u model the car? ZModeler or 3ds Max?
Quote from: XJ220Have you thought about connecting the load floor and its ribs? As this is obviously no HS project anymore, you could make your model look even better here. Anyway, you're doing a great job!
You mean like connecting the frame to the body? Yea I was gonna make the hooks for the frame after I put on the drivetrain and such.
Quote from: StylizerThats really nice looking. Where did u model the car? ZModeler or 3ds Max?
Zmodeler of course
and BTW..it's 21,381 polies.
thats ok. i'd say you should limit up at 25.000 and go tweak around a bit before you move on.
- Rick.
Quote from: DanRand BTW..it's 21,381 polies.
Then it is not suitable for NFS4. Maybe for NFS6 or NFS5 or NFS9 ;)
as i said.
NFS6 is the go!
- Rick.
Yes! NFS6! :D
Quote from: DanRYou mean like connecting the frame to the body? Yea I was gonna make the hooks for the frame after I put on the drivetrain and such.[...]
I think I need a pic to explain what I mean... (attached) I know this will require some work and it will cost many polies, but it will look better. I did this on one of my projects and it became a lot better;)
I should update this forum as well. Lots of work been done...

Man...I'm getting closer and closer to completion =D What you see in the pictures is pretty much how it's going to look like at final release. There are going to be a few more modifications, but this is pretty much the gist of it =)

Looks awesome. :D But frankly you have used too much black for the NFS6 one. Atleast make it shine somewhat. :)
Wooow... it looks perfect in HP2, very impressive work!
