Title: nVidia RIVA TNT
Post by: Power^Steer|nG on Mar 13, 2007, 2:17 AM
I just bought this card... now theres some problem.

1. It is PCI 16 MB card but my setup shows that SGRAM :: 2MB (It shows 4MB when I use builtin VGA)
same was the problem when I plugged in MGA 8MB PCI card. why?

2. There is a Video DAC Snoop option in my setup which can either be switched ON or OFF. what is Video DAC Snoop?

3. My DXDIAG doesnt show any information about this car abd all the three option .... DirectDraw, Direct3D and another one are disabled... which are enabled when i use builtin card.. why?

hoping for quick reply as i will be able to return the card if its faulty.

honestly... i would return it immediately... my 930mhz p3 has a 16mb riva as well except agp... no problems whatsoever, other than the fact that it only plays games up to and including nfs6. my other computer has a 128mb geforce 6200 and plays everything. seriously... a 16mb gfx card is extremely old. so why not spend your money better and get a newer gfx card ^^ (btw... my 6200 cost only $50CAD... so it's a really good deal)

well here in Pakistan, now when the AGP slots are coming on board, PCI gfx cards are becoming rare and I found this card with a lot of difficulty after searching of 2 months... and atill it was 16MB.. .i tried to find a 64MB in PCI but there is not any...

yesterday i testes it with high stakes and it is running very smoothly...

hey... can 16mb card run HP2? well, it didnt ran "Freedom Fighters" and gave an error, "Could NOt create Device. Pleace check your resolution or color depth". I tested all but all in vain.

you know, even 8 years ago, my video card (the TNT2 Ultra) was far superior to this PCI TNT1 you have discovered.

case in point, your video card is horrible. 16 mb of video ram is not a whole lot. I'm sure my cell phone has more memory than that, and it's garbage.

I hope this solved your problem. :)

"well here in Pakistan, now when the AGP slots are coming on board, PCI gfx cards are becoming rare and I found this card with a lot of difficulty after searching of 2 months..." kinda sounds like AGP is new to you guys in pakistan
its really oldschool...ever heard of PCI-E?

yeah no kidding... pci-express is the "new" thing i guess you could say... agp is not as high quality and could be considered past generation. having experience with my stock emachines... hp2 lags really bad with a 32mb... you could probably run it but major lag here and there. my 128mb geforce can run hp2 top gfx and full res so...

actuallyl new technology do come here but in the start prices here are very high and people cant afford it.. so it becomes usual when price becomes low.

btw never heard of PCI-E

AGP has ruined here... i think this tech is becoming popular thats y we can have a 64MB nVidia AGP for only 10 USD
