How do I install .rar custom vinyls for NFS Most Wanted? Mwtex only imports .dds files.
How do I install downloaded vinyls? I downloaded the Tokyo Drift vinyl for the Evo but the readme doesn't say how to install it.
Car Freak: You need to have Mwtex in order to install custom vinyls. Follow these steps once you have downloaded Mwtex:
1) Open Mwtex.
2) Right click then click load.
3) You need to load a vinyls.bin file. Since you downloaded a vinyl for the Evo, let's start with that first. Now go to C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Need for Speed Most Wanted\CARS\LANCEREVO8. Click on open.
4) Now you should see lots and lots of vinyls (I was once frustrated about this too :| ). Right click on any file you want since you can replace any vinyl. Do not right click on one that has the word mask. Just remember what vinyl you chose because we will come back to this later.
5) Now that you right clicked on a vinyl, click on import.
6) Look for where you extracted the .dds custom vinyls. Before you click on open, do not choose the file with the word mask in it.
7) Once you clicked on open, the program would automatically reload the vinyls.bin file since it noticed you changed things.
8) Hopefully, you remembered what vinyl you chose before. Now choose the same vinyl except choose the one with the word mask in it and repeat the same steps 4-6 except that when you get to step 6, choose the .dds file with the word mask in it so that way the mask matches with the mask (etc.).
9) If you did everything I said, close Mwtex. The program automically saves whatever settings you changed.
10) If you did everything correctly, you should see that the vinyl you chose before has been replaced with a new vinyl.
I hope this clears things up since the help files are extremely vague. ;)

If I got you right, you don't know what *.rar files are? They are like ZIP-files, you need to unpack them with WinRAR, Power Archiver or another program which supports rars.
OK. I only asked that question since my computer does not recognize .rar files.

No, nobody hates that. What people hate is when others make tons of off-topic posts that have nothing to do with the topic, and do it consistantly. Read: you.
