Title: Hello everyone!
Post by: EAmstephenson on Feb 07, 2007, 8:50 AM
I just wanted to introduce myself to the community. I am the new Community/Content Mgr for the NFS series. I told Mike that I'd be here shortly. I'm here to interact with all of you in trying to make your NFS experience a better one.

If there is anything you want or need, do not hesitate to ask. I will try to the best of my ability to answer or get an answer for you. If I don't answer you, please don't be frustrated. I will do my best however.

Thanks!

I...  I guess you sort of get what I want! But... also... this is minor but maybe some actual real-life heat 1&2 cars... such as the crown vic. Another suggestion is to use actual brand bodykits and spoilers, w/ some fresh and new fictional bodykits and rims w/ autosculpt. also, open city racing with just checkpoints to meet, like midnight club 3.
Title: Hello everyone!
Post by: Sinister on Feb 28, 2007, 3:52 PM
No more bodykits, they serve no function.

no more ricing, get back to the oldschool ways of NFS.

Tune only no ricing.  its scary to think people actually think Ricing is cool.

a 6" coffeecan muffler or a 6' spoiler doesnt help anything on a FWD car. except add weight, and the game doesnt seem to adjust for that.

also go back to real physics more like NFS5 instead of Undergrounds and later. seriously, the drifting in carbon was a little too arcady and nowhere near realistic.
Title: Hello everyone!
Post by: shaken on Feb 28, 2007, 5:18 PM
I totally agree with Sinister on this one. In recent years (post Underground) the NFS series has gotten much too flabby, stereotypical, and overall dumbed down. We need a return to more realistic racing. The fun from racing games for me, and many others, comes from nailing the perfect apex through a corner, not from having the hugest body kit. NFS:7 and up have removed that fun from the series.

My only guilty pleasure from arcade like racing: cop chases :D
Title: Hello everyone!
Post by: Car Freak on Feb 28, 2007, 8:30 PM
Every NFS (with the exception of the original and Porsche) has been about arcade racing... if you want something more realistic, get a sim like Live For Speed or GTR2, or maybe even TOCA Race Driver 3
Title: Hello everyone!
Post by: bucksavage on Feb 28, 2007, 8:37 PM
I liked NFS Carbon, but I have plaed it sparingly so far, only because it is my bros PS2 and he lives like 20 miles away.  I didn't play UG, UG2 or MW at all.  That aside, the next NFS, in my opinion, should try to include the best of all the previous NFS games, Day/night racing, realistic weather/driving conditions, tuning/ricing/mody mods, COPS!!!!!/Being the Cops!!!, Free Roam trcity as well as older style NFS tracks possibly as challenges by computer played opponents, drag/drift/curcuit/rally racing elements included, huge car list with a wide assortment of Muscle/ricers/exotics/ and the ability to own several of each type not be held to one type, Online play, custom graphic for cars and the ability to make your own, and last but not least, the ability to make cars for the game for the world to share.
Title: Hello everyone!
Post by: ToyotaWish on Feb 28, 2007, 9:01 PM
Well... The bodykits in NFSMW and NFSC are waaaaayyyyy too ridiculous, and somewhat ugly. Maybe EA could just come out with simple bodykits and those bootlid-type spoilers (non-rice). But... I'd love to be able to change rims... (:
Title: Hello everyone!
Post by: bucksavage on Feb 28, 2007, 9:22 PM
Yeah and maybe be able to make engine swaps (can you do that now?) like taking out the 4 or six cyl and putting in a 350 small block V8, or Boring/port and polish/change the stroke of the engine in it to get more power out of it.  And last but certainly not least, the 572 Chevy monster crate engine.  Damn!!!

Post by: bucksavage on Feb 28, 2007, 10:23 PM
If the tires don't explode first.  How about a mini cooper s/ME Four Twelve swap.  Smae deal ony the car becomes a rocket sans rocket engine.  More sensily, perhaps a recen98 Monte Carlo  with the 3.8 V6 bored and stroked to say 4.1L and then add a roots-style supercharger, ram air scoop and secondary col air intake in wheel well, intercooler, the Lexus? 8 speed auto transmission cat-back exhaust sent to custom quad tips larger spoiler and say 18 inch rims wrapped in high performance rubber.  0-60 in BOOYAH!!!!!
Title: Hello everyone!

Another suggestion:- In pursuit mode, there should be one such condition that all the cop cars of condition 1,2,3,4,5,6 & SUV's will be on our tail along with Cross. It would look cool. It will be called mixed condition.:p

I swear, it feels like a need for speed game. There's elements from porsche unleashed, with the same arcadey physics we love.

Once the hiccups are fixed for performance I feel it'll be a solid competitor.

revisit to pinkslips... HighStakes 2 would be a nice return.
however you need more in the game, yeah carbon was good in the most part, but the career was way too short, and the canyons weren't freeroam.  a virtual garage with all your cars would be nice as well., walk through and select,

everything has been stated over and over so its hard to come up with new ideas for the game, however there's one thing that needs to make an appearance soon, TRUCKS!.  Street Trucks need to be in the game. I mean seriously, if you're going to please ricers with all the bodykit crap, why not please other fans by adding 4wd monsters.

How about open city racing and a HUGE car selection like Midnight club 3?
Title: Hello everyone!
Post by: on Mar 05, 2007, 8:34 AM
Heres my two cents:
1. Make the online part waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy better. This is what I look at FIRST when buying a game. Add things like buddies lists, individual hosted pits, chat lobbies, passworded pits, SCORING SYSTEM (more than just top 10 stuff). A lot of this stuff was available in NFS 4 and 5.
If it doesn have a good online interface, I'm not buying. (And I haven't been lately, either:o) Make the execs test the online interface..... if they dont get frustrated within 3 hours, its a large step forward. :bigthumb:

2. I'd like to see a High Stakes 2 .:p Just my preference.
I prefer no tuning at all, just pure racing.  The only thing I like to change about my car is the colour.

3. I know there are a lot of people who would appreciate the ability to add custom cars to the game. And by custom cars, I dont mean customized cars; I mean entirely user-made from scratch. It'd be helpful to include the tools to do this.

I know these are exactly the opposite direction than what EA is heading in, but I just had to say it anyway.

unB:)

yeah, I like those ideas, however, EA has not put out tools for editing, and I have a feeling that they still wont.  Its not BF2, where mods are promoted.

I've been playing NeedForSpeed Since the TNFS released by Road And Track.  I've been a loyal fan of the franchise, however, The game is going in the wrong direction.   Get back to the roots of the game,
I have a pretty good feeling that with the movie Redline, you may have already considered this.

what I'd like to see is.

The Feel of NFS1.
The Cars of NFS2.
The Pursuit of NFS3.
The Editability of NFS4.
The Physics of NFS5.
The Choppers of NFS6.
The Performance Tuning of NFS7.
The FreeRoam of NFS8.
The ShortCuts of NFS9.
The Canyons of NFS10.

The Online Of Motor City. (non-subscription, user servers possible.)
The OffRoad Of V-Rally 1&2

using previous ideas of the existing Need For Speeds may present a decent fun long lasting game, to keep NFS and communities rolling for another 10 years.

if this is the quality of their community support, is this what to expect for NFS?
Title: Hello everyone!
Post by: Porousbaab on Apr 22, 2007, 1:04 AM
Well I would first of all ask for a little more realistic gameplay engine..(unlike underground)
Porsche unleashed style would be perfect.

They should also atleast try to get liscense's for cars like Ferrari(whats nfs without em?)

Realistic bodykits like TechArt,Gembella,Konig, etc. would be good

Autosculpt feature taken to the extreme with theability to actually build your own parts from scratch(though I know that is a little too much)

Also, the game should be made so that we can add custom cars to it like nfs high stakes.

and last but not least...SIMPLICITY....NO storyline...just pure racing like the old nfs..and frankly no need for the babes either(though i do like em..lol).we are playing the game to ride cars and not babes.

EDIT:- Hmmm..didnt notice that he's gone..looks like our suggestions are useless
Title: Hello everyone!

I should go down to EA this summer and explain to them I've been a fan since NFS1, and should be a community leader etc. I probably have more connections to the fanbase than these guys anyways.
actually anyone who goes to the forums does, these Community leaders only show up to make a ripple in the water, then they float off down stream while people are waiting for the next rock to drop.

EA better learn that their fanbase is more important than what they'd like to admit.

More money to buy all the goodies in the game... I'm playing through Carbon right now and it's annoying to have to save money to afford the more expensive cars. I prefer Most Wanted's system, in which re-racing events awarded the same amount of cash. At least it incentivated you to learn the tracks so these wins could be attained easily.

Besides, better distribution of cars between tiers and tier-specific races (just like the old NFS games had, see NFSHS and NFSPU). In Carbon you have large differences between cars belonging to the same tier. Honestly, it's ironic that a car like the Mercedes SL 65 (which has a biturbo engine more powerful than the Carrera GT's) is a Tier 2 vehicle only. This could be fixed by moving down some slower Tier 3 cars (Gallardo, 911 Turbo) to even the field up.

The Renault Sport Clio V6 is based on a racecar, so it would be in Exotic class rather than Tuner. Golf R32 as a tuner is acceptable, but I think it would be better as a Tier 1 Exotic because those cars aren't that cheap IRL and the idea behind a tuner is the offering of good performance at a low cost.

Oh, and, as a last note, have some prettier girls in the next game. Carbon was very disappointing in this respect because only the blue-haired Japanese girl looked attractive to me. :D Josie Maran is 1000 times better than Emmanuelle Vaugier.

@Zpectre(again ;) ): Amen dude! I totally  agree with  you. Tier system is quite bad, and instead of realism, seams  to be based on the knoowledge of the car...I mean, for example, in MW the db9 was one of the betters while in Carbon is just a "middle" car, just because in MW was like a new car.
And about the girls...I totally agree with you again. The Japanese  girl is the only good looking one, and Emanuelle...well, I have some problems to see her without moustache since that banners contest that we made in this site. I want Josie back!

And also to give some new  ideas...don't make video scenes from people inside a car...it's quite disappointing to see Wolf coat cleaning the asphalt in one of the canyon races. And the faces look to bad...More car graphics, like damage, and less people graphics.

And the faces look to bad...More car graphics, like damage, and less people graphics.
well... not less people graphics... but more like... more time on the car damage and models but use remaining time to create, if possible, good people graphics...

but there better be a new storyline with millions of possibilities and what should happen is that... and no story videos... those were annoying... and if you have girls... get a bunch lol... ^^

i would actually LOVE a racing game with a multiple choice story, like some RPG's have, you do this and that and this will happen, but if you do it like this, something else will happen and so on...not only if you win...you won. lol.

rick, what they need to do is take members of the community and make them part of the storyline.

im sure there's members here who would be good for some parts of the game.

marcus - wouldnt it be nice if we could control our own race routes for multiplayer, make it a little more fun instead of having to always follow the developers pre-designed routes.

all you need to do is have a highlight section and follow the road, im sure it isnt too difficult.

MC rice related? are you stupid? (first time i ever say that LOL) it gives you options to tune muscle cars the muscle way and has way less rice in it than any other of those games!

Dear EA,

I hope the next NFS comes back to it's original roots. You know, exotics-only, maybe some muscle cars and sportscars, with car showcases and realistic physics according to each car's specs, dashboard views, country scenery with beaches, jungles, deserts, etc. Take an extra year to develop the game if you need to. I'd rather wait an extra year and have a game that blows me away rather than dissapoint like Carbon did.

Max

New to post , but have read this site for a lot of years. So apparently we have an EA mod amongst us and is reading and relaying info....hmmm i heard this story before ... where was it? Oh in MCO....lot of good that did, they pulled the plug on it.
They had the right idea for that game, even brought it online at the birth of the MMO explosion. Really looked forward to when they finished the beta process (i was involved in it), and i could race even more folks. I'm curious though, did the marketing department get fired over that fiasco? They should have...that was one of the most poorly promoted games in the NFS series. And even those that were connected with MCO at EA agree.
With the rash of crappy driving games out there,(TDU would be alot better if it was less buggy - guess not all the good MCO/EA guys got employed there), and a thirst for MMO games maybe a Need for Speed  - Online (MCO2) could be a gold mine waiting to happen.
Guess i'm just still pissed at EA, only reason i bought another NFS after they canned MCO was because CARBON's canyon races reminded me alot of MCO so it kinda offered a walk back down memory lane. They talk about MMO's being an addiction and such, and i can understand that. Everyday I search for an Offline Mod for MCO, unfortunatly everything is sitting in a friggin file on an ea server somewhere, that they have forgotten about and refuse to edit and sell for 30 bucks to those of us that would to be able to play offline or peer to peer or setup our own servers for, or a good MCO patch/port to another game. At least i get to see the bodies from MCO everytime i fire up my Sports Car GT with the mco patch.
Oh well nuff ranting, it did no good then , and will do less now.Just thought i'd make the point that its the same ole shit flying out of an EA mods mouth.Man be nice if someone would mean what they say instead saying what folks want to hear.

 Spazster
- Midtown
- CEO The Funsters   (yea you had clubs that you made and had memebers join and you raced other clubs for rewards and status, wether it was circuit, street or on the drag strip)

I still refuse to give EA another dime and will copy anything interesting, until EA produces another game with the same game play depth of build, fun/rewarding play and quality/security that MCO had, comes out.

Personally, I liked the way NFS5 looked and played.  Ithe tracks were generally well done, with ery good cenery.  Day/night racing is a must, not just night racing.  While some think that the game needs only exotics, I'd prefer to see a good mix of exotics, muscle cars, modern muscle, and luxury cars.

Prostreet's looks like good mix of what you posted buck (minus the luxury cars, unless you consider the Audi RS4 a luxury car).

Well, I meann more luxurycars but with good power, like really kick-a@@ Mercedes Benz, Chrysler's, BMW's, Audi's, Porsches, that sort of thing.
