Title: Track Lighting (NFS HS)
Post by: luv2race on Mar 03, 2024, 7:04 AM
for the NFS High Stakes series how do i change track lighting?
for example, for the Empire City track, how do i remove all the shadowed areas?
i'd like to, just for fun, make the track bright and lit up like the others
Thank in advance.

The track lighting is stored in the "tr.ini" file (trn.ini for nighttime and trw.ini for weather on). Just open it with the editor and fiddle around with the values. ;)
Here is a nice tutorial of how to change stuff:

Eack point of a NFS4 track has a color information, used to generate shadows.
You can use T3ED -> "Whole Track -> Clear / Modify all -> Clear All Shading Values" to remove all shadows.
Each point color can be set in properties. Easier is it to use "Whole Track -> Shdows Ray Tracer" to set colors.

Does this have to do something with the track glows from tr.ini?

The values of track glows are used for light ray tracing. If you disable light ray tracing and set sun and shadow color to the same values all points get the same color.
I'm using dark sun / shadow colors for night tracks. That allows bright colors from lights.

Do you use the Shadow Ray Tracer from T3ED or is it something in the .ini's?
