Title: 2006 BMW M5 e60 Sedan
Post by: Power^Steer|nG on Dec 23, 2006, 5:08 AM
heres the new project from me... yeah I know... i have already a lot of projects pending.. but what can i do.. i get bored of the car when it comes to interior..hehe.. heres the new one. well, charger is 50% complete. S8 is ready to upload. Audi 100 is halted because of some poblem. Civic got the same jam.

i know there are bumps on car.. the fender shape is not as it s supposed to be....that gap behind fender is lowered which is to be raised up an widened a bit.

Not a fan of the E60, but the model looks good, very few bumps and it's absolutely not finished yet. Good :bigthumb:

I'd have sex with this car, were it a woman instead of a fine piece of machinery. :D It looks good so far.

I'm REALLY looking forward to playing with this (as I don't like Chris' version very much...). If you're aiming for more detail, please try keeping the polycount around 11,000, which would be perfect for NFS4 and other games.

heres a little more .. actually a lot of update..hehe
did tyres, front grill, side mirrors (this time almost perfect stock) a nd polycount has reached 11500.. actually tyres took a lot... 1280 polies/tyre...well whatever... I will also upload one of its comparitively lowpoly version (upto 10,000 polies).. this version will move upto 14000 I think...

I'm pretty sure he's going for a stock M5, otherwise he wouldn't have made the original rims. Besides, the grille on the model's bumper is different from the AC Schnitzer's car's one.

IMO Power^Steer|nG should make a regular M5 before thinking about modeling tuned 5ers. M Power all the way. :D

@RickT: First of all thnx a lot for correcting me..:bigthumb: and the image as well..

@Toyotawish; Zpectre; RickT: Well you are all right, i must go for stock one first and then make the tuned one... Actually I like to tune visually but u know that its a messing of mind..but again I do...specially my own thinking in tuning simply suck.. (that 7 series) .. actually guys I dont know even a basic rule about customization and making correct dynamics :( .. though I know that how air passes through intakes and leaves through vents... .but i dont know how to place and make angle properly...so that it look real...just making holes and putting stuff over it doesnt make any sense. IF YOU GUYS HAVE ANY ARTICLE ON THIS... PLEASE LET ME  HAVE IT.. I WILL BE VERY THANKFUL TO YOU. ohhhh.   i am gone far..hehe

well.... idea is very good... i can remake it with AC kits and rims as welll.. .but again.... .wheres the kit image? :S (actually i am bad in searching images...and it even depend what do u want)

Zpectre is very good bimmer modeler and he can help me out on bimmers... .I hope... will you Zpectre?

ok.... heres the normalized car.. altered the rims and made it a little deep (i hope it works) and deepened the front grill silver boder and moved the grill bars a little inside (as shown in the RickT's provided image)

sorry to burst ur bubble now power...but, We owns a BMW M5...and the front grille is too tall, and not wide enough, the headlights are orange on top, the headlight reach down more, the rear window turn, need to be lower, the windscreen is too tall, and at to acut an angle, rear bumper needs to be shorter, and... I can't think of anything else right now. Sorry I had to tell u this. U should take more time on the details of the car, and work on one car at a time. If u want, u can try making a M6 coupe. Ill be looking out for that if u decide to do that. And, if u do, can u convert it to NFS 9?

Umm Rick? How'd you do these 3D renders? Not the types for NFS, but just images in 3D. Would like to know how to do that.

ok, so heres some theory:
there is a difference between 3d Render modelling and 3D Game modelling (lets call it like that) games work real time, you move around and stuff, thus it doesnt support too many details (in this case: polygons), 3ds renders are still images or movies (considering in the new transformers movie a single frame needed 35 hours to render) where the amount of polygons can be endless, as you dont need to use it in real time.

thus for, my late meshes (mesh = a web of lines, connected in trinagles or quadratics, wich connect so called "Vertexes" wich are points that give the YXZ positions for the model.) , at example the charger are render models, as i am trying to find my way into the CG movie scene, and move away from game modelling.

and yes, wesley is right, i am using a pretty big case full of plugins and scripts made for 3ds max to make my renders/models look/appear and be good :)
most of those are only part of my setup because of my job thoo.

wow... so you actually get to work with 3dsmax for your JOB?!... wow... that's so cool. i wouldn't mind... except i would rather keep in shape... no offence... other than sitting at a computer all day. i have a volunteering job at a daycare-thing atm.
