I use an ATI X1600 pro with 512MB of GRAM and it is awesome and plays all NFS games awesomely...
what do you guys have
ATI somethin' or other, I really don't know.
HIS Excalibur ATI Radeon 9600XT AGP. it works fine for most games but is getting on in years. hoping to upgrade to PCI express pretty soon.
I've alwased preferred ATI over NVidia in the past and will probably stick with them for my next purchase, even though NVidia seems to be pulling ahead especially with their mid-range cards.
yeah i will prolly upgrade to a NVidia card when mine goes up in smoke and i have to upgrade my mobo too just because i dont have a slot for PCI-E
eVGA Geforce 7600GT PCI-E. IT's alright. not the best but gets the job done
Asus ExtremeN6600GT (256mb) since April of this year. I could have gotten a better one, of course, but I was on a limited budget, and, to be honest, it's enough of a performance leap for me at the moment. :) I used to have an ATI9600pro (128 mb) for 9 months or so, and before that I did everything with my humble 32 mb Geforce (2001).
Sure is nice to be finally able to play games like Most Wanted and Underground 2 with all graphic settings on. :)
You don't want to know mines, it sucks. Not even Porsche Unleashed works well on it :( .
I have an Nvidia GeForce FX5500, which is basically an FX5200 with more memory and some additional features. Good for games that are 3 years old now, but can't handle newer games that well. Anti-aliasing on an FX5500 causes a lot of slowdown.
A Gigabyte GeForce 6600 (non-GT!) here. Supports Directx 9 and runs F.E.A.R. well. That's all I need at the moment :P (NFS:HS runs fine, too!)
Hey Zpectre, I also have anNvidia GeForce FX5500 and I can play Most Wanted, obviously I don't play at maximum. I only have problems with the shadows and the raining drops, but works ok!
How do I know what video card I use? All I know is that it is kind of old since I suffer from framerate slowdown in newer games especially NFS Most Wanted.
I have an nVidia GeForce 6500 and work fine...I only have a bit problems with the shadows and the raining drops too...
NVidia 4250
Right now, I (or rather my dad) has a ATI Radeon 9200 SE, but we're changing coms.
The new one, which was used in the WCG (which means it's a specialised gaming rig), was bought for S$2000 (u.p. S$3300) and includes the following (and I'm just reading from the brochure):
Intel Pentium D 950 3.4Ghz
1GB Kingston DDR2 PC2-4200
ASUS Motherboard P5B
ASUS Casing Vento 7700
ASUS GPU EAX1600XT
ASUS PSU A-45GA
ASUS Optical Drive DRW1608P3S
ASUS CPU Cooler Silent Square
ASUS Monitor PG191
Seagate 80GB HDD
Logitech Internet keyboard
Logitech MX310 Gaming Mouse
BTW that's a 40% discount for one week's (max) use
I also didnt understand a single thing the brochure said
well back in 2003 i bought my first pc,it was a compaq presario 6000 or something like that...anyway i figured whoa i got my first computer and thought i can just play any game on it with no problems at all,boy was i wrong.
so i went out and bought a agp nvidia geforce mx 440 128 MB...well while it was ok for some average games...it was no where near as good as i wanted or thought it would perform for games like high stakes or hot pursuit 2 at that time...i even tried playing some vice city on it and it just looked terrible all around on 640x480 and even 800x600 resolutions.
fast forward 3 years later and well now im on a AGP [BFG Tech] Nvidia Geforce 6800GT OC 256 MB...on my own hand built pc which i built earlier this year...while i know there are better video cards out there, ill just wait a year or so or untill my financial situation gets a little better for my first pci express rig. ;)
peace
Asus GeForce4 ti4200se, 128mb here. Served me well for years, I figure it can hold out a couple more.
XPS has got a 6800Ultra with 256mb, while the desktop has a 7600GS 512mb. Good stuff.
2x Nvidia GF 6600GT SLI all the way!
Quote from: RiCkT2x Nvidia GF 6600GT SLI all the way!
=O LUCKY!
Any i gotta 6800 GS AGP
thought of saving up for quad SLI, if it pays off...and duh, my boss tells me i should change to NVdia Quadro...yay costs the same :/
i need to pay alot other expensive stuff right now... :/
I have a good 'ol Intel 82810.
8mb of vram ftw!
I'll be getting a new computer when I stop being lazy and get a job.
XFX GeForce 6800GS XXX Edition, 256MB GDDR3 on PCI-e x16 FTW.
XFX is nice, but XXX? is this card good for pron?
Quote from: RiCkTXFX is nice, but XXX? is this card good for pron?
XXX edition means it's the highest overclocked card from XFX....also means I can view more porn pixels in a shorter time, but that's beside the point.
i use ATI 3D Rage IIC AGP (4MB Shit Card) :D
i use intel extreme graphics 2 :burnout:
Shiny new Leadtek 7600GT AGP for me. Its a fantastic upgrade if you're not keen on going PCI-Express just yet. Runs NFSU2 full graphics (including glow, antialiasing and all that stufff) no problems at all. Runs the new Carbon demo quite nicely, too :)
i will get new cards soon, anyone want one or both of my 6600GT SLI ?
want to give them to me for free?
hmm not really :/
I use a PCI Radeon 9250 and Intel 855GME on my desktop, and GMA900 on my laptop.
Radeon 9600PRO 256mb on AGP for one of my 19" LCDs and my 17" LCD.
Radeon X600XT 256mb on PCI-E for the other 19".
Oh, yeah.
Nvidia Geforce4 6600

Sure, and I must have an Nvidia GeForce7 8800GTX.
I got a 7600 Go, overclocked to 492 core speed, 468 mem speed. It's a laptop so I'm considering gettign external cooling and going gently. Also, for some strange reason (I think the new drivers, 91.47) it thinks my card is a 7650 GS. Haha. Oh yeah, and it has 128 ded + 128 integrated memory. Not too bad considering I run Most Wanted at full settings 1440 x 900.

Whoops, just pushed the overclocking too far and got white dots everywhere (in the game not real life mind you). Almost broke the 500 mark for core speed :(
lol....laptop graphics OCing not recommended...in fact...laptop OCing not recommended....PERIOD. laptops are maxing out their thermal capabilities as is, so pushing it too far is definitely gonna make something go wrong.
it's not too much, the stupid intel motherboard is not very friendly to overclocking so I was only able to increase the side bus speed so it ran at 2.00 ghz, but there was barely a performance difference. my card uses thermal throttling so i overclocked it just under the limit where thermal throttling kicks in. it's perfectly stable rm.
No, I think you just pushed it a bit too far and ran into artifacting. The Go7600 typically mazes out at just under 500 core. The memory speed depends on which version of the card you are using.
at the current speeds i've posted it's running without artifacts.
trust me, i look for those, how do you overclock without it?
the gf8 got released this night O.o
I mean I currently have Nvidia Geforce 6600. I am planning for something higher.
There is no GeForce4 6600. Its either a GeForce 4, or its a GeForce 6600.
@RM - Ooh.. I want one. :P
Not too shure about the trustworthiness of this source, buuuuuut... (http://smartcomp-pa.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=298&osCsid=aff165c0ab21b6f936f6b0cd70631403)
Thats an awful lot of video memory right there.
Soon I'll be bying an ATi Radeon 9200 or 9500
ati? get out of here then :p
I decided to go for the gold when i finally got around to apgrade my computer. So I decided to get an Asus A8R32-MVP deluxe crossfire ready edition, with dual ATI Radion AEX1600 pro 512 mb DDR2 cards for a 1 gig video memory. Unfortunately I had to lower my CPU to a AMD 64 socket 939 3500+ which is only about 2.5 ghz with 1 gig of DDR2 Ram, but I nwill be upgrading that to 4 gigs of ram soon, and a 4800+ dual core soon.. :)
going multi GPU for gaming is quite possibly the dumbest idea ever. why? you pay twice as much for a low powered card...but in a few months, the same price you paid for those cards will get you a card that's more than twice as good performing as the two you just bought. in your case, you also dropped to a single core when you could have easily gotten a dual core if you hadn't spent the money on the dual video cards.
ATi? you mean AMD?
but if you look into it, a high powered card is only high powered. with these two cards not only do i have twice the speed of a regular 1 gig video ram card (being that they use alternate frame rendering, or each card produces half an image) but also they have more pipelines to transfer the data faster wiht dual transfers it is faster than one mega card. As for a processor, even if i did not get dual video cards, i would still not have enough money, i made this computer with parts i got fomr the internet more or less, for under $1100 canadian, i have yet to see, nor anyone who knows of my computer and its power, a better computer for less money on the market. i will jsut have to wait untill next summer, when i start tog o toowkr again so i can finally finish upgrading.
i meant at the time ATI, i just read now that AMD is now the owner, whoops..
don't try to argue reason with rally master; you will lose.
personally I feel spending over $200 on any one single function for your comp is stupid. since no matter how many video cards you throw in suit the same purpose I will agree with rm that it's stupid to go SLI. :)
it's not about buying the best stuff now -- it's about getting the most power for the money.
this said, since I spent over $600 on upgrading my comp and have no PCI-e video cards in my arsenal, I am running a PNY brand GeForce 4 MX PCI card. it is quite possibly one of the worst video cards I've ever had the blessing of using in a FPS game.
i use a good video card
i use a better video card
finally, found out i can afford it after christmas.
i am getting a quad sli GF7950GT System.
well i think i will. ill keep you up to date.
rick grab an 8800gtx like i am and you'll be fine :P
dx10 power.
my friend spent over 3000 on an alienware with two 7950gx2 in quad sli.
wait about an year and the fucker won't even be able to update seeing as how it's liquid cooled and he can't even open his case without tearing it apart.
right now until my parts come in this friday i'm on a pos intel integrated thing.
yeah the idea sounds good, the 8800 will drop in price pretty soon.
i will buy a new system after christmas and i think ill go all into depth for some power.
i mainly need a good gfx card for games and alot of ram and good CPU for rendering...
cuz when i try to render my BMW, it tells me i got not enuff ram for Step 4 Rendering :/
i only have a geforce fx 5500:ugh:
Screw you people with them high gfx cards. :p

I use an excalibur radeon 9200 vivo edition, runs all NFS games awesomely
I have a old vid card. I'm using a Voodoo 3 2000 PCI with 16 megs of Ram. So far I know that it runs NFS3, NFS5, 4X4 EVO, Diablo, Diablo 2 LOD, Madden 2001, Triple Play 2001, Rainbow 6 (original), Hot Rod American Street Drag (barely, I need a driver for the card that is directx 8.1 compliant to make it work perfect but there isn't one that I know of,yet), Dungeon Siege, Warcraft 3, Dues Ex, Wheel Of Fortune 2003, Simcity 3000 and Superbike 2001. I am looking to get NHL 2001or 2002 at a used game store soon. They should run as well.
my tnt2 > voodoo 3
I have got an old video card:
Sapphire Radeon 9600 PRO Atlantis

Not mine HiFi... my friend just told me about it... I wouldn't waste $25K+ (actually not even $1.5K+) for a computer... I would use that $25K for a new car.
@Will: I had a 32MB S3 ProSavage DDR graphics card stock with the computer but quickly found a $40 128MB nVidia GeForce 6200... at STAPLES HAHA... it works well but the newer NFS's are quickly showing the weakness of it.
I don't know what cards will run in my motherboard, since I only have pci slots....
But..I did have the opportunity a couple years back to get a used 64 megs S3 vid card buit I was broke at the time...so for now I am stuck with my 16 meg Voodoo 3 2000.
radieon x1600 pro
i use ati radeon on a toshiba 1.9ghz 1gb windows vista and nfs runs extremely smooth and shows perfect
Now i've got an NVidia 7300 GT, cheap video card, but roons very well.
Hi Rafel I got a Card like yours but it stronger mines the Nvidia 8500 GT
So im Lucky...But Paid 4 it..

Happyer that the OnBoard Pos, is Gone.. but its Cool Cya ;)
You are lucky.
When i bought my video card i had no money, hahha, and i didn't found another good NVidia AGP, because now all are PCI.
I like a lot NVidai, more than ATI, i have got best graphics on NFS IV,hahaha.
I have a ATI RAdeon X1300 (128MB) and I run without a hitch :D
X300 or X1300?
I got a 128MB X300 and it's rubbish.

Proud owner of GeForce 8800GT. :)
Runs ProStreet on full everything without problems.
Now i've got a new video card. My 7300GT gave me a lot of problems. My brothe owned a 8600Gt and now i've got his 7600GT.
Mine is a major POS, a stock Compaq one, you don't even want to know what it is
It'll run most modern games but at low settings
2 weeks ago I just bough a 8800 GT...Now I have the feeling that I have been wasting my time playing games at minimum requirements...Also I bough an AMD x2 6400 and a new Asus MB
installed my Radeon HD3450 a while ago.
works perfect with TDU.
and thx...cause you can't play some of the new games...7 fps with world in conflict and 10 fps with crysis, for instance.
i purchased new system in which came ATI Radeon X1300/x1550 256MB PCI-e
I use ATI Rage Mobility 8 MB.
Sometimes, I use my brother's ASUS EN8800GS. :D

I have an NVIDIA GeForce 7300GT, I hope it can run Undercover.:ugh:
if u want undercover runnable VC use a 7600GT ok mine is still the damn stock comaq on-board but soon to change :D
You still most likely need better video cards too, games such as GTA IV requires at least 7900GT. I have the game on PS3 though & I might get Undercover on it too.;) I would like to get some kind of an NVIDIA 8 series card, but I still have to wait a while.:ugh: At least my PC can still run most games I like in the meantime. :D
I use Nvidia 8500gt... I need a new one aswell.................
Quote from: bastyI use Nvidia 8500gt... I need a new one aswell.................
Dude that's still better than mine.:eek3: It should still handle many great games, but yest it's always better to update things in this fast moving modern world.;)
i use Nvidia Geforce 9500 GT pci-e 2.0 with shader 4.0. 1 gb
