Title: Old Need for Speed Websites - Nostalgia & History
Post by: MADMAN_nfs on Jul 29, 2018, 9:31 AM
Here you find links of sites no longer available at the web, as well as broken sites with low relevance.
Still these websites and the people behind them will be remembered.
The NFS franchise is going til today - these classic games and their community started it all.

Browse gaming history here, find interesting content and cherish the memories!

Listed sites hosted content for at least one NFS game from the classic era (NFS1-NFS6). Links to webarchive services (like archive.org or internetmuseum.se) are provided, if available. Sites are listed alphabetically according to URL (official EA sites listed first).

Feel free to give feedback and contribute!
Archive services occasionally might have files backuped for the listed sites. So if you happen to find something interesting or rare, don't hesitate to reply and share info here.
But note, if you searching file downloads take a look at the thread Online-Resources of classic NFS titles (http://www.nfsaddons.com/forums//index.php?topic=1710.0).

Is JP racing also gone on Waybackmachine?

JP Racing is at the archive. Actually there are even files saved for that site, thats why its listed in the thread Online-Resources of classic NFS titles (http://www.nfsaddons.com/forums//index.php?topic=1710.0).
But i guess its less confusing if i double enlist those sites here.

edit: I've added the well captured sites, that have a decent amount of files preserved (and thus are listed in the other thread as well)

Well done..But. I have no access to car section on jp racing.

Hey noise, its is working okay for the most part.
But you can't expect archived sites to work like a normal site! Thats why i made a seperate section for this kind of links...
You can navigate the car section, e.g. for NFS4 (Link (https://web.archive.org/web/20060403164407/http://jpracing.racerplanet.com:80/modules/mydownloads/viewcat.php?cid=1)) and some manufacturers are working, e.g. i tested Mercedes (Link (https://web.archive.org/web/20050905194222/http://jpracing.racerplanet.com:80/modules/mydownloads/viewcat.php?cid=74)).
It will load slow, there are pictures missing and, of course, rarely you will find a downloadable car zip this way.
Looking for files you better use another link, like this: JP Racing files (https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://jpracing.racerplanet.com/*).
Thats the way it works...

Sorry to bother you again MADMAN_nfs, but how can I find a car.zip file on the JP Racing files link?
I found cars with filenumber on JP racing site, and than try to find that number on that files link.

No problem, keep asking if there is something not clear.
The thing is, the declared focus of this topic are the sites themselves and not files.

So i wanna point you again to the section "Webarchive" in the thread Online-Resources of classic NFS titles (http://www.nfsaddons.com/forums//index.php?topic=1710.0).
There you find links and hints for searching files at archive.org; e.g. sort by MIME type and use the filter function.
If you have further questions about that, please reply in the other topic and i will try to assist with further details.

Hehe,
but i did like the "Car of the moment" feature of the older designs  :)
JPRacing had this too and because of this, one day i found a really great car in a category i probably never visited otherwise...

Working on a site redesign right now actually, with a similar feature. It will show a random car/track every refresh.

If you have any other things you'd like to see, let me know and I'll see what I can do!

Does anyone knows about GMC A-Team NFS3 website?  I really would like to know the URL so I can check if it exist on wayback machine and if it does,  read it for comedic factor.  Something on the line of I pity the fool.

Does anyone knows about GMC A-Team NFS3 website?  I really would like to know the URL so I can check if it exist on wayback machine and if it does,  read it for comedic factor.  Something on the line of I pity the fool.

I may have seen that as well, probably one of those "Mr T vs Everything" (https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/mr-t-vs-everything) parodies from the late 90s. :afro: but I never saved the url or bookmarked it, sorry. I believe he ran into the yellow Diablo SV and ended up throwing it 'helluva far', as those parodies usually ended, but maybe it wasn't the same one.  ;)
