Title: Titan Hotrod (NFS4 PS1)
Post by: DrSpeed on Mar 18, 2018, 1:17 AM
Time for the second bonus car from the Playstation version, the Titan. This thing was hard to replicate, but at least the most important parts is there: the "Oh Yeah" horn and the fuzzy dice.  :D

Already wondered if you have the titan in the making after the other projects... Looks pretty accurate so far :)

Yes, it's unlocked after completing all Special Events on the PSX version. It has nearly full stat in acceleration and top speed and it's also pretty heavy, it's fun to use in Hot Pursuit.  ;)

Damn that looks promising. I'm hyped!

PS: Maybe LaNiña would come after this? Or the Warrior?

SnakeCobra already made a beautiful Hi-Poly version of the La Niña:
http://www.nfscars.net/need-for-speed-high-stakes/2/files/view/7012/ (http://www.nfscars.net/need-for-speed-high-stakes/2/files/view/7012/)
I don't have any plans to make the Warrior, but maybe in the future (or if someone else does it before me).

Working with the performance now, this probably will take some time since I'm not that experienced with carp.txt editing. Once that's done, I think the car is complete.  :)

I'm actually making the highpoly version of El Nino again, but this time in NURBS. That project reminds me of my failed attempt because perfectionism, but NURBS fix that issue for me.

Was a Fun Test Out. The Car handle's pretty good. But on some my jumps , it don't like so.
if slower on them better. Nice colors too , Almost forgot who is the Guys Voice for the horn?  :D

I don't think I'll do anymore to the rims, maybe make them somewhat lighter. No idea who made the voice.

The rims are supposed to be more twisted like in the PS1 version, but I don't have the patience to remake them unfortunately.

Looks really awesome.
Wow, the sounds are replicated nicely! Does sound more like a hot-rod, but is not too far away from the PSX audio. The horn is perfect :)

I agree that the wheels should be improved. I think you should put a texture for the brake discs - basically some black pixels to imitate look of ventilated discs. For the twisting: you already formed a bending on the spokes. But these spokes should not join in center of the rim, but point slightly away from it. That will look closer to the PS version without too much effort i think.

Another point i see is the front. I think it is too "sleek". I took that video for reference (aspect ratio is stretched a little!):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KZeOZiUoBM
--> at original version the front bumper sticks out more at the bottom.
Also the frontgrille is kind of enclosed by the wheel cases, so it looks deeper. Unfortunately that needs texture-work to be realised i think (dont think this can be replicated with normals tuning only).

Also tried to make some parts of the primary body-color a little darker. Could give some more "depth effect", also at the front i think.
But maybe that is a matter of taste.

Apart from that details the mesh looks perfect to me. Also body details and vinyls are spot on. Great replica! Again! :D

Greetings

It has been Released on the 1st. page Beta Mod @ ArthurLopes. Why did you Quote me for? was wondering k.  :o  ???

yes Dr.Speed I agree with Madman's Hint's the Rim work looks tuff tho.. But maybe all worth it!?  8)
I wanted say about the Rotors also like holes texture, an if any Room for the Brake Calipers? or just with a texture look for them, it be great looking tho! Nicer Bud.

Oh yeah! I like them Big Muffler pipes to  ^-^ Can you make say one smoke ball poly? a piece for them?
I think the smoke an Grass effect looks Nicer , from what AJ_Lethal's SFX Mod, did a week ago.  8)
An um, Nice pic's  Madman_Nfs of that explain.

Alright, did a honest try to remake the rims. At least it looks more like it does in the texture now.  :)

Does look nicer Bud, Dr.Speed it's to bad the Rim Texture wasn't Clearer?
or any possible rotor holes or Brake Disc/texture.

But good work on it man   8) Have a well weekend.

Yep, that looks more like it! Nice rework.
The brake disc needs some texture imo. Ventilation holes or at least a darker color... maybe even apply some aluminium "material" over the whole rim (so its not only one color) :)

Texture added on back wheel, front wheel still in one color, for comparison.
Made the grille in 3D to see if it looks any better in the front. As a whole, it feel like it makes the whole car look nicer in a weird way.  :)

Looking Greater! I feel you about it so. Wheels look better so far and the Front grill I forgot to say. Maybe a Compare pic before an after of grill would be best. )

Yeah, would like to see a comparison myself.
Title: Re: Titan Hotrod (NFS4 PS1)

Sure!
There's something between the exhaust pipes on the PS1 model, what is that?
Title: Re: Titan Hotrod (NFS4 PS1)
Post by: MADMAN_nfs on Apr 30, 2018, 6:50 AM
The wheels look great.  :)
That thing between the exhausts is part of the drivetrain, so called rear differential.

The grille is alright. What i meant, is the area around the grille looks so flat, unlike the original. The original has some texture outlines to idicate rounded wheel houses (at least thats what i see when looking at the PSX version). Also the bottom of the front bumper jut out noticibly.

Btw, are these pics from ZModeler1?

Greetings

Thank you!

I added a black outline around the grille, like the original have. I also rounded the front a bit more. Does it look better now?

Quote from: MADMAN_nfsBtw, are these pics from ZModeler1?
Pictures are from 3D Studio Max.  :)

Aw, no - looks we talked past one another  :)
I meant something else with "outline". As i tried to say the grille is fine, also the chrome elements...

I attach some pictures this time. With "area around grille" i mean front body (marked with red). Yeah the bumper is better now, but in the pic "TitanGrille.png" you attached, one can see quite well what i mean. It misses shading and thus looks very flat.
As i said before, i think it will be difficult to create the necessary depth (to recreate this curvature coming from the wheelhouses) by only tuning normals. Probably some texture work will be needed.
I tried to illustrate in picture two (FrontGrilleWheelhouse.png).

Greetings

Yes, that is what I tried to do. I could try to shape more like the texture suggests. But yeah, maybe just using the texture will make it look better. :)

Hey, you Two um, the Titan is looking much better so far!
Great Team work... Of advice's for sure.
Rear differential for sure  8) really liking this, more than the El'nino mod car.
Cheers!  ^-^ really great fixup so far, DrSpeed )

How's it going on her..? :}

New version done!

Worked on the front a bit, I manage to recreate the "depth" with polygons (well, according to the chrome in zmodeler).
Anyway, I don't think I'll do any more work on it, I do want to release it soon.  :)

Post by: MADMAN_nfs on Jun 06, 2018, 1:59 PM
Thanks for the update again. Maybe undo the black outline of this grille plz - really that was a missunderstanding  :D

As i said, im convinced it is impossible to do it perfect (recreating this 'depth' and 'roundness') with poly-shading only, and in this game engine :)
The PSX version is using textures there as well in the end....

Don't worry, the outcome looks fantastic! A great replica of that legendary game car.
Really looking forward to see the final version ingame.

Greetings

I agree, it does look better without the black around it. Gonna give it a couple more test drives and also try to crank up the volume for the engine sounds (I just noticed it got very silent in the replay mode).

Looks More Refined Nicer... Bud Speed  8) an I like the Engine sound that,  came with, the New General Lee Car. Just saying, or this other best Mopar engine that came out 2 years, ago with the Dodge Charger R\T Zalcus 21 car had a nice sound so.
