Before that other editing and ideas thread might become endlessly I'll start a new one here for the better ...
Among some other Police (.. again LOL) cars I've made or reworked there are also some SSP Mustangs from my time together with Nils way back then ... They are reworked to nowadays editing knowledge and mapping tricks and such ..
first of all there's the CHP SSP Mustang as a real 'iconic' one ... (1st attached pic) you probably seen that on screenies already? ;)
.. then there's -matching the TDPS LTD that is already published on Police H.Q. these days- another SSP - the Texas DPS Mustang slicktop (2nd pic attached)
I also reworked the currently released '88 RCMP Mustang by my friend Max (BrabusAMG) to match the also currently released '84 Ford LTD RCMP' again on Police H.Q. as an addition to that to better fit its size and overall look of it .. (3rd and 4th pic)
I will make then and dedicate my next planned SSP to our friend WiLL who is living in now frozen over Michigan to dignify his lifelong hard work & learning for HS ... dang he's just frozen not dead yet -LOL
.. there's not many cool as well as nice historic MI cars out there as I noticed except for some Park Ranger SUVs and such so I thought that might be a good idea, what do you think folks?
oops .. the others didn't work sry .. duh! da.. policecarwebsite >:(
Not a real hard one to do from existing SSPs since mapping and all is so far done and equipment is also ready for it (frontal + interior flashers/'swivelling' beacon) .. needs to be done just the decal and colour adjusted and that little bonnet signet ..
last pic is a matching '87 NYPD Mustang GT for other New York cars whichever ... you might have seen that already ..
.. work on other cars will of course continue .. as soon's the pot of curly kale we had yesterday is being digested .. buuurp .. well .. sry Ma'm ::)
Thanks for making me have a Big LoL... Tonight, this was a Classic Post I'm thinking..! :D. Yup... Also think you Hit the NaiL Dead Center with,.me almost being Dead, Up here,Frozen.. Well, hope not to Soon anyway ;)
It Be Great!! If you made the SSP-Mustang I'm sure I Would Make Use of it!!)
Robby Rob, Car maker... made me one like this, long ago.. Of Course it got lost :(
Being Honest, was all. Thank's for that,Neat true short Story ? Of Things was Intresting. Btw what kind of Food dish was that?))
Funny ending there Pal Keep it Up!. um cya :)

Well .. 'Curly Kale' or 'Green Kale' ('Grünkohl') is a speciality of Northern Germany served in Winter time after first frost .. very tasty with cured pork, potatoes and also different sorts of special sausages called 'Pinkel' and is somewhat heavy to digest .. needs much beer to make it 'float' LOL .. with also well-known uhm .. impacts afterwards °|o

We are looking forward here each year when it is being served for the first time .. yummi .. there is also a ritual that North Germans traditionally do then, we go on a more or less short hike with people we know either from club or company whoever where sometimes you stop and drink together from bottles of booze that is carried behind on a handcart .. some stop very often -LOL ... it is called 'Grünkohlwanderung' .. mostly takes a day or two to get 'back on track' .. crazy them Germans aren't they? :o =D
Southern Germans (Bavarians) have their 'Oktoberfest', Western (at the Rhine river) and also Southern Germany folks have their 'Karneval' (or called 'Fasching' in Bavaria and 'Fasnet' (means 'Fastnacht') in Swabia), some sort of Mardi Gras .. we here in Northern Germany have our 'Kohlzeit' .. similarities are folks drinking alot and being very silly .. -LOL

thx bro for givinig it a try tho .. I told that those SSP Mustangs were kind of a 'hobby horse' of Nils and me in those days way back then .. :)
.. the CHP SSP Mustang until '92 had a classic three-pod setup like it could bee seen on many well known CHP slicktop cruisers such as the Dodge Monaco or the famous Polara (before that model year even only a two-pod red and amber lights setup was used on the precedessing '82 SSP Mustang see first pic), the later cars then had a combined 'Federal Signalmaster Traffic Arrow' and halogenic flashers setup ...
very old setup with only just two lights red and amber since '82 SSP Mustang (notice old blue Californian license plate) ..

.. somehow bit more pleasant for car modders having such destinct and precise car information .. ^-^ :police:
Agree I see I edited my last post, back a page. :) Great shots btw
I have get outside now thanks ;)
YAY! The Original "The Need For Speed" (NFS1) police car. Great! Thank You
... btw does anyone know why Mustangs of any kind weren't present as racer cars on HP/HS? (default American cars were only Pontiac or Chevys :-\) .. ???
another question .. should I post the SSPs reworks here on server or rather better on Police H.Q. (were it will also be available) since I had that certain impression that my Police car reworks were more or less inappropriate because of becoming too much of only that perhaps on NFSAddons .. :-\
Funny you ask because 2 days ago I saw a 1983 Ford LTD Undercover Crown Victoria/Civilian from you uploaded on Police HQ.That car isn't here on addons.
It's nice to see more activity on this forum since you are around.Only wish your topics weren't interrupted by pic's of vegetables or marklin trains. :)
All-Work then..? An no play, or Good,Eats good, makes a not a Very Great, Car maker :-\ =D .anyway
I need go that H.Q. site some day, been awhile.. peace,, noise hope you fix your Game
Sooner? :-\
You can't think about it like that. We are maybe living in times, when people prefer to run away from the police, rather than chasing the speeders themselves, and many that weren't even born when the game was made will try to convince you that 'classic NFS tittle' is the Underground or Most Wanted even.
Also, the thing to take into consideration with Dodgeboy's cars is that these were given as base models exclusive to NFS Police HQ. That's how it is. And the examples of cars posted here by Dodgeboy himself, or the staffers of Pursuit Inc. more than decade ago, is different case altogether.
But your work is much welcome, even if there will be never ending line of police cars. Just keep them coming! :D
I say, Aaaaw-' Men to that!! Um, what ah, DarkOne said, an agree much.. too. :police: ^-^
@Dark One: thx for your confirmation about further uploading these Police cars here .. to easen up an as maybe too strict felt line-up of Police vehicles I do try to sprinkle in also racing cars sometimes .. ^-^
that sometimes confuses my schedule of work but is also fun and affirmation seeing good reactions on these cars .. =D
.. like many others out there perhaps I started with trying to exchange default stock cars by better ones and in addition to that I get on or create ideas of 'packages' like line-ups of CHP, LA, NY, NV, Texan or Canadian Police cars fitting nicely done custom tracks that would perhaps match there .. that also includes the 'auxiliary' cars on serial numers 12, 20, 32 or 36 .. :) .. or like in other cases simply adopting cars of movie or TV shows that me and everyone else loves since our childhood or youth days of what crazy or astoundlingly things been happening there .. =D
ok .. some final improvements here still .. brighter and larger trunk lettering 'HIGHWAY PATROL' and other details .. Carp.txt also improved (torque curve and fourth/fifth gear slightly increased values)
Of Course I hope, this all Will, Happen in the Future here?, I just DownLded-" :) ^-^
But, on the other hand my phone keeps, ringing an they can u do this or that.. ::) an
How can I ever get it things worked out,.. so I wish you Luck Bro Frank thanks much too!
Happy weekend too Us 8) :) ;)
to u also pal .. ^-^
speaking of future .. this '87 SSP Mustang slicktop TDPS is next one to follow up the CHP .. :police:
needs updates/refinements in the kind the CHP already has by now .. wheels, ODL, texturing and stuff ..

Of course there were nice versions with lightbars also but the SSP Mustang is a much cooler cat as slicktop =D
More or less a fantasy restored car here .. :-\
(http://www.sspcentral.com/ford/jorge_trevino/jorge_trevino_ssp_mustang-6.JPG)
authentic Code 3 lightbar on a rare '93 SSP here ..
with Jetsonic/TA combo more common setup like e.g. the FHP Mustang had that ..
It is not that I wouldn't have made some lightbar versions already but the slicktop is my odds-on favourite ^-^
see last attached pic btw .. notice the 80's DPS Ford LTD CVs there in the background ..
Hi on your bigger, pics above, I only like the Top pic an very bottom, pic Light Bars, the Best. I can't load the smaller, pics on my junk Device, well nice Shots, Frank there, I Wished, Fangio-' Would, Raise, from the old Grave, On days like this, :} I need go store now I think, but did you see any pics I sent ur way last nite? Or was you to busy... =D np, ttul-' :)
Well folks .. the '87 TDPS Mustang slicktop is now adopted to scheme, merged and corrected .. ^-^
.. I added a custom made 'Whelen Responder' red dashlight on a small mounting bracket and a 2nd rear facing radar still ..
It has frontal red/blue halogenic flashers (Whelen Micro-Grill Master strobe lights) and rear deck red/blue 'Sho-Me' alternating halogenic lights ..
DPS Mustangs didn't commonly have wig waging headlights until '89 .. the video shows a '89 DPS that is seemingly retrofitted to that ..
the shown effect on video seems to be a fast alternating left/right high/low beam scheme I haven't seen before .. :o
https://www.youtube.com/v/bJKhjE1KLHE
I have attached two version of the DPS for testing, first one is w/o wig waging headlights so an authentic rendition of the car before 1989 ('87 as stated in FeData), second is with 'retrofitted' fast wig waging headlights (hi/lo beam) but therefor I had to trade the rear orange 'bulb' dummies for the additional two headlights .. :-\
An alternative to that were those simple wig wagers like on stock pursuit cars to save the tailights' 'bulb' dummies (alter HWYN3 in first file to HWYO350/..E350) .. ??? (middle attached pic)
Would like to know which you like better ... :) I personally prefer the version with better looking taillights (last attached pic) but oh well .. ::)
last attached zipfile ('..wigwag.zip' only contains the altered car.fce for filesize reasons ..
Car has serial #36 for Redrock/Lostcany 'auxiliary' or 'supporting' car ..
.. starting now doing the MSP Mustang on new base .. not easy because of mirrored door decals .. but look what I've also found .. didn't know MSP also had Furys .. let's see if I find the time ^-^
(http://www.davesems.com/files/Fire-Police/MSP78FURY.jpg)
I'm thinking, this was Long ago there Furys ;) Frank I can go North side town an get you updated pics, bit Risky, they use 4×4 Suv's, now other cars, do you want me try get you any? Closer up ones? Or can you find any online? But it's good weather today for this. Hope they won't Nabb, me for taking pics? :o ::) =D

There's 2 ways to fix that..Simplest is to make a actual decal that is a seperate part it's self and fuse that to the body so you can flip it round once textured, The other is to make the body lines 3D. I think you'll come up with something though :).

I feel sorry for those troopers if they didn't have a face shiled on their red dash light, We had to use a red pancake light one time in the state security agency I was with and of a night that thing could blind you on a traffic stop :P. Finally we got the black shield to put on the back of it so it wasn't blinding.
Hi Paul, nice to hear of you these days ^-^
.. yes that's why they probably exchanged them later for the teardrop light which is shielded to backside isn't it :police:
I have seen pics where the cops sticked duct tape allover the rear side with so wouldn't blind them anymore ???
Yes there was also that visor part available for the Whelen Responder but I think that was a little large for the tiny Mustang's dashboard -LOL
Think I will do that door vinyl the very classic way and use two different decals I will prepare then what needs of course more texture space but is 'cleaner' way than making overlaying polies or destroying the doors' clean mesh structure by breaking up splines .. the ODL lights for example use unnecessary large texture space and many more stuff I can reduce here and move around there .. :)
Uhm .. any suggestions of which headlights' lighting scheme you like better now for the TDPS btw?
You only have to d/l and replace the contained car.fce from '..wigwag.zip' in the car.viv to test that ..
@WiLL ..thx I got ur pics always forgetting u can go outside there and take pics of MSP -LOL
I could use a detail pic of that hood hailer since unusual fonts here .. grey weather was even better for that since light is more neutral then best before a plain grey skies background thx bro ;)
What if u simply asked them for permission taking pics think they wouldn't arrest u for would they .. but I other than here in Europe U.S. cops are used to taking pics of their cars aren't they kinda .. ^-^
Have another request or question folks .. it concerning the flashers on the DPS ... I have attached another testfile with 1er timing frontal flashers, thing is I don't know how's that working or appears on other machines.
On my NVidia VCard machine at home and using Glide it looks nearly perfect giving an irregularily alternating but more steadily lighting (longer and clearer defined on/off periods) like with modern LED flashers whereas on my GF's laptop using DX w/o 3D card it looks ok in menu but ingame it just flickers rapidly ..
thx if you'd have a look at that ...
:-\ By default (factory standards) NONE of the dash lights get shielded, It's either done RedNeck style with tape or by getting a black leather or vinyl shield to place over the back part so it don't shine on you. Only ones shielded by default is those mounted into 5 flash mirrors (HotShot II ,etc).
.. not even the teardrop style dashlights? so I did this one on the undercover Diplomat wrong .. I saw on pictures that teardrop beacons were shielded .. :-\ But ok thanks anyway .. ???
Well, Paul is partially right. Only dashlights I recall coming with the cover from the factory was Whelen Cadet and Federal Signal Firebeam. Or of course these with the mirror shields, like Whelen Responder, Code 3 Dashlaser, and the Fireball 2.
The only image of Responder with plastic cover I ever saw is from the auction already gone, so there is no proof that it wasn't aftermarket solution either.
In any case, these Mustangs looks great! So keep up the good work. :D
Man this is Geeky Work, Joking I love it too. Aww, my Camera just broke Frank, so I'm not going over there :o an, nice pics on your Sheild.
I'm making Progress on things to but we know we're not paid for nothing anyways,
hi there DarkOne your a good talker to explain things =D
Oh, Monday.. is on the way ^-^ np 8)
thx @all... wanted to show you current progress on the MSP Mustang .... mapping is so far finished only needs to be done the hood hailer still .. ;)
an overview of the car .. (1st attached pic)
.. and rear deck equipment in detail (2nd/3rd pic)
.. rear side view from above of current state (4th pic)
last pic shows a detail view of embossed 'Mustang' lettering on both front and rear bumper .. ^-^
good thing is that the alpha channel method I'm using on the windows wouldn't let the rear dummies bleed through the windshield so the half shielded 'Responder' single beacon on rear deck looks almost real :D
I've read that later MSP Mustangs had flashing reverse/taillights instead of the Responder beacon as you can also see on thread starter pics posted showing it w/o the responder on rear deck .. question is what you'd like better .. responder deck light or flashing backlights?
Pretty Damn, Sweet Looking Frank!... all up to you on the back lights, I think?
Maybe later today I could try get that picture of it.
But, it's kinda a Hassel for me... just hope it's not breaking-
The Law! just to get a hood pic, now days.. :-\ >:( =D
Tough choice. I like the one with Responder, because of how over the top it is (after all, you don't really need rotating beacon to the rear, when it's not sitting on the roof. But it does improve the visibility, while the car is performing traffic stop on twisty road). Though this one is Will's, so I won't be the one that matters here. ;)
Well, DarkOne,.I like your Input on this much to like you say,.it's up higher, an top deck, ones would look nicer. I just git permission from MSP about taking pics, of there cars. Was great from Officer, Krudal? Like that, sorry about your misspelled name, so I'm on my way get it now Frank, an I like to get more of the newer Mustang they have, but I don't want stay to long. :D. So try wait up Frank if you can ttul-' 8)
very good news WiLL .. maybe I can then get even better pics of that hailer lettering in detail .. I have some pics of it though but better is better ... ^-^
not an easy one since lighting can only be done by ODL .. :-\
had a look at DodgeBoys' MSP Camaros in the meantime, he did it that way too .. dang what poly monsters they are think these are F-Body Action base cars :o
Concerning the rear deck lighting I must admit I like the responder solution in a way .. found an acceptable lighting pattern for that .. the flashing reverse/taillights are difficult since I don't know how that would look on each different machine .. if you want to try that on another car I have here a suggested flashing pattern that is now used on modern CV cruisers and such:
taillight1 : SRYO220 reverse1: SWYO221 reverse2: SWYO221[0] taillight2: SRYO220[0]
Hi there I mailed, you the Real pics this am did you get them? So I put Effort in this bud, np. When did dodge guy, do this car what site did u find it on?
Just a real Gloomy day here up north in daa- States snows melting great. :]
Edit: just resized this tried to good luck Frank on the cool project :police: ;)
nice shots thx bro .. added the trunk lettering forgot -LOL .. and a lid keylock since I was at it .. call that a day folks .. I'll do that hailer tomorrow .. :P

Nope, Especially not them LOL but LEAVE it shielded as I'd prefer (if I was using it) to have that way LOL Although I almost forgot, There was one type of teardrop light that wouldn't blind you unshielded, Smith&Wesson made a teardrop in the late 1970's-1980's and it didn't rotate, Had the same rotator type spoon shaped reflector but the light blinked at a speed simular to a car's turn signal. I will look and see if the vid is still up on YouTube once I get home (work blocks YouTube so can't check now).

Hey, that MSP, really looks Rocking Frank!... what kind of Lightbar will you put on top? I was hoping um, a longer type one instead of, of the little single job they always use, cause it's just a fun Game we do here.. if you can? =D looking nice man pal. :) 8)
PaulSpain, sure is Strange, not looking so normal, Strange is? I don't use that Car Editor, yet So...
Hope you get it Figured out bud.
I did a nice Faster Shape,Race, Ver. Of Rockypass, today just want change, some trees an try fix up simpler, things an Fix Visibility, more an it be Done for upload by end of the,Week?
Cause its just for Racing an the (AI) Is Real Strong on it, it's a mesh I had from 04' crazy read me, says LoL... but it's a fun shape ah, k. No Bad Fogg in it. =D ;)
@WiLL: MSP Mustangs didn't have lightbars since all were slicktops :P .. well, even if it is a fun game I like them to be more or less authentic as far as the game allows that sry pal .. :-\
@Paul: no certainly not -LOL, yes that being a strange thing in ZModeler, it displays plain black areas (that come close to 0,0,0) as white but only in screenshots when saved as .png so perhaps rather .png format problem? -LOL
When you then save it as .jpg all is correct but that format compresses too many details ...
No prob, I was just checking to see on that :-[ yes, more Realistic the better. We Strive for here. =D
That's like my new, project, fixed up good, today from my old 04' mesh that was long ago bud...
An I Fused polys-' that needed so, this Mod isn't, about much texture changes, it's all about, its. Simplicity, an. Elegance, to Me! An =D is..
An it's an About, More Speed, an Still Challenging much, even in Reverse, way, it's Fun!
Fixed the small Jump in town, Ramp it Doesn't, Somersault. Your Cars.. has a bump, hill you slow down for, but doesn't flip your car over, maybe if your doing. 200Mph, it can but, I don't go that fast..
So just Saying, this new Shape, really feels good with, me... when I'm using the Un-Edited, TS-50 Car it's great an others. So I go ;) ttul-' Frank nice tip on Png pics.
folks facing another problem with that hailer .. though I could calculate several relations from pics (width to height, upper angle of the outer parts) I have no idea of how big the 'thing' is by its overall lentgh .. :-\
If I base it to the real Mustang's pic size and set that into relation I would get an overall lenght of approx. 67cm ... since the Mustang's model wheelbase is still too large by factor 1.04 the length would then be approx. 65cm
.. or is it -excuse me always forgetting that ::)- simply done by a feet or inch based measurement? .. like it being simply 'about 2 feet long' or so? :o
I never wasn't very good at Math,, So but, I think your rite it's about 2' feet long or Less, No worries about it... I'm not an over the top, perfectionist, person, not always. ;) ttul- :8 good luck, I'm sure you'll get it on just rite. )
Hi WiLL you were faster LOL .. made that hood hailer/sign today .. consider the car now as so far finished if you don't find any bugs or have critizism still folks .. please test it .. polyload 4051 polies/carmesh 725kB .. well not even a 'lightweight' :-\
the door decal perhaps needs a little bit of texture rework still though before I upload it .. ::)
Car tinkerers may wonder about the bonnet being assigned to :OC part but was necessary to avoid bleed through effects because of the hailer using alpha channel 'cut-out' lettering .. =D
serial #32 for Hometown/CW usage .. :police:
Have fun!
Edit: corrected the door decal texture and made the hailer bit clearer (brighter) still .. :)
Aww, Sheeet-" Hood Hailer, looks Perfect now, almost? Or what you think.. :D I have Do some Patrolling on Rockypass later today an spread the Wings out! Tickets Galore!))
Thanks much on this Historical MSP Mustang day here Bro =D yes Indeed
As they say hey BuckSavage come an get this man, oh he's an old friend that used be-
On here.. ttul-' Frank be waiting for your updates too! )) cheers 8)

Can anyone guess what is special about this car LOL?
Hey. Is this the detective car (1K80) from the cop series Dragnet with Sgt. Friday and Off. Gannon? Loved that series BTW. :)

Yes and no..This is 4-K17 and is from the pilot that lead to the 1967-1970 Dragnet series where 1-K80 came to be..It is still Officer Gannon and Sgt. Friday though :). You can find the whole movie on YouTube..Just type Dragnet 1966. I also will do the later car from the TV series as they are identical and only the grill and tail lights are diffrent between the 1966 Fairlane and the 1967 Fairlane.
Cool. And thanks for the info. Looking forward to seeing the cars released. :)

I might send them to Frank first though as whenever I convert 2 door cars to 4 door (this was originally a 2 door car) I always get messed up areas as I have to bend and move verticles to fit and it leaves mess spots, Maybe he can clean it up a bit while still preserving it's good seperate doors, hood, and trunk it has. I will also use this to make other police cars besides 4-K17 and 1-K80..I know Illinois State Police had these in the old black/white scheme with a FederalSignal Visibar on them.
Nice car Paul but how about starting a new editing thread for that? .. :o
I like that Fairlane, why not release the 2 door version? Any news on the Mustang SSP b.t.w ?
@noise: finished the last of the Mustang series now .. the '88 Mustang GT NYPD .. so all will be uploaded soon .. guess I'm currently into too many projects, Mustangs, Charger reworks Bandit game setup project and and .. sry for that ... :-[
You know what a schedule is as soon as you left it .. ^-^

If I still have that I will :). I have to see, It was originally a 2 door to begin with but I might have done deleted the original base I started with after I'd poly reduced it.
.. it's always the details that are keeping me .. before I started reworking the NYPD Mustang I have refined the '87 GT's wheels still a bit .. I scaled the rims to more depth are also now decreased in diameter added 3D hubs still to make it look even more natural .. then I updated the NYPD Mustang to new base and found the molders as too 'plain', looked at pics and saw the shaded lines on them, that's what I did still yesterday .. ^-^
btw .. that would be a matching car to the '88 NYPD Mustang GT .. '89 Caprice NYPD by DodgeBoy original ... has new wheels tinted windows and stuff .. had prettied up that by and by .. but needs to be updated to the new NYPD Aerotwin base still :)
to your all info .. Mustang files are out now sent, should be up soon .. ;)
