Title: Problems with extra cars
Post by: Randallmcmurphy on Sep 09, 2016, 5:32 PM
Hi,

After a lot of years i decided to play again this great game. I found some patch to run it on a Windows 7 pc and then i tried to install new cars.

But even if they appear in the car manager (in NFS Mixer) when i start the game they aren't there.

This is happening only for certain cars..for example Alfa 164 procar is ok, but Trans Am GTA is not.

Any ideas?

Thank You!

Hello,
you need to edit the car.viv in order to make the cars work.

Download the NFS-Wizard Utility (http://www.nfsaddons.com/nfshs/tools/5/) first and install it. It should work perfectly fine with Windows 7. Do not enable the compatibility mode, since it will break some features of the program!

Open the respecting car.viv file with NFS-Wizard. You will see different files... your problem is probably connected to missing language files, the fedata's.

Right click on the existing fedata file and choose "Duplicate". Now enter the correct extension for your game version. Take a look at this too. (http://www.nfsaddons.com/forums//index.php?topic=1646.0)

Greetings

edit: The NFS-Wizard installer probably needs compatibility mode. Just don't run the installed program with compatibility mode, but with administrator rights enabled.

Solved!

The problem was exactly that. I had to rename the fedata files with the "ita" extension.

Thank you!

Now i must understand how to modify cars properly :D
