Title: NFS Carbon Disk Trouble
Post by: stinge on Nov 11, 2006, 6:44 PM
Good news: I bought NFS Carbon today. Bad news: My CD-Drive can't detect it.

Every time I inserted the disk, nothing shows up. I went to My Computer and clicked on the D Drive and it said Please insert a disk into drive D:. Can anyone help me? I am really annoyed right now.

No, I do not have a DVD drive and this is the only CD that gives me problems.

Well, I'm not sure about the regular Carbon, but if you have the collector's edition then the discs are DVD-ROMs

Well that stinks. :( I'm gonna upgrade my CD-Drive anyway since it has been giving me other problems. Plus, I never saw the regular Carbon. Every store I went to only had the Collector's edition.

Well that's your problem, you're inserting a DVD into a CD drive. (dee-tee-dee)

should actually be written on the Disk itself and on the upper left corner (i guess) of the disc case.

Both Regular Edition & Collector's Edition for NFS Carbon comes on DVD for PC. ;)
Regular Edition is a single DVD but Collector's Edition has 2 DVDs (1 for Regular Game & 2 For 3 new cars, 10 specially tuned cars, few new tracks & Making the Game & Behind the scenes.)
But anyways this game is really resourse hungry, & moreover its no great shake, probably the worst in the NFS Series. :eek3:
Upgrade to a DVD drive (Asus CB-5216A) (DVD/CD-RW Drive) or a DVD-RW from Sony.
Before installing the game go through the system requirements or you can run the EA Info before installing the game (Found in the Carbon DVD).
Enjoy the shit head game now, that's what I'm doing.......

incorrect.  the ungerground 1 & 2 are by far the worst in the NFS series.

Carbon has some glitches, just like all the previous versions, however, Im guessing the patch will fix some.

Carbon is not resource hungry., the game hasn't lagged on me once., crashed, but never lagged.

i'd say carbon is in the top 5, after nfs5, 6, 2, and 4. in no particular order.

The problem with Carbon is that Career mode is TOO short. I sped thru it in less than 48hrs! (stayed up really late at night and ended up looking like this: :eek3: )

You can't get a number of the reward cards because once u finish a race in Carbon each race only gives u $500 (or 700 if u use Neville)

On the other hand, pursuits are now a bit easier. The Rhinos are easier to miss, and if u hit a pike strip, it's not so bad. There was a Challenge where you had to make the pursuit last 12 mins in a Skyline, then evade. around the 6 min mark, I came across a spike strip (SS) roadblock. I got pushed into the front of the car closest to the strip, and my left rear tire was gone. BUT I managed to evade and complete the challenge! :Owned:

And having all 4 wheels go in Carbon is like having one wheel go in MW. Go figure
