I just downloaded a custom vinyl. I have no idea what to do with that file now :( can somebody PLEASE give me step by step instructions? either here or via e-mail (ibratboy@yahoo.com). If you nswer by e-mail please include "mustang vinyl" in the subject, thanks.  ~Stig

Sooo, is this a forum that is really slow in its beginning stages, or am I to used to the EA ones where it's hard to keep up ith all the new information, or did I accidentaly delete an e-mail?

Just a new forum, still getting things rolling :) I'll post up a FAQ soon about how to install the vinyls (honestly, I'm not sure myself :) )

i could do it for you guys... i have made quite a few and also know how to import them into the game.

Here is how i do it: (stig i hope this helps)

first you need to have both the .dds file and the vinyl_MASK.dds then you open MWTEX and right click and select load.

then load up the vinyls.bin file for whichever car you have the vinyl for.

search through the files until you find say ECLIPSE_UNIQUE01 and right click it and select import. browse for the .dds file without MASK in the name and click save/open whatever the button is.

then you need to find the file that matches the one you just used such as ECLIPSEGT_UNIQUE01_MASK and right click it and select import again. browse for the other file that came with the download that has MASK in its name and hit the open\save button.

then close MWTEX and start up the game

if you have the car and vinyl unlocked go to my cars and find it and place it on your car if it doesnt work then try again.

this is all i know and it does work when done right

Alright, I did everything you said....and...it didn't work :(.

If it'll help I'm trying to get the Mustang GT500 vinyl in there, the thing is unique03. With the stuff done it should change the third unique vinyl for the mustang into the GT500 stuff, right?

What it's doing now is showing the same old vinyl, just with black paint (the car is red).

ok stig did you also import the mask file into MUSTANGGT_UNIQUE03_MASK?
if not plz import it and try again.

Oh!! I figured it out.

I was doing both of the importing things on the same file...
