Hello NFS Fans

I am talking to the fans who played the very firs NFS: ROAD& TRACK. We had a lot of fun with this game didn t we :)
So we had this crazy idea with a friend of mine.

LETS CREATE  NFS 1 in with a new good looking coat ! .Not that the old game looks ugly.Noooo way. It is just a Idea how to recreate a game that we all enjoyed. ANd make it just for the sake of enjoyment and love to the old game.So here is the Idea:

1st  alternetive:

Using Porsche Unleashed 2000
+ car phisycs (very important!!!)
+ traffic (with traffic patch even more)
+ lot of cars already modeled for this game
+ cops could be enabled


- could not receate the old classic tracks from the original NFS game(very BAD!!!)
   but  personaly I think that NFS PORSCHE  has beautiful tracks.

so If we choose to go the "Porsche" way  I imagine that all the 8 cars would be done and configured as close as it is to the original or slightly better.ALSO ..as a reward we can add the models of the OLD cars  prsented in the original game  from the history slides of each car.The goal is and would be to  enjoy the cars and tracks while trying to beat the AI / or friends.
Feel free to come up with more ideas .

2nd alternative

selecting an opensource car simulation oriented 3D engine and recreate (or convert) the models of cars and tracks etc.
I think Cars would be easy to convert as all of them are done for example for NFS MW.
Tracks wold be created from scratch with Track editors and 3D modelers like blender.

very impressive gamplay and phisycs try it out.
source code is open so we can make some tweaks and thus making it as close to the original game as possible
it ingludes Track editor and blugin for BENDER(free) to convert the modelled tracks. and cars etc

So What dou say?This project needs Modellers an maybe aditional programers but this part probably would be done by me and my friend altough help is always apriciated.So  Leave comments if you are intrested.

Update: Can someone get in touch with this guy who is working on nfs1 recreation for proposal of converting the tracks to NFS3? Yes I have tried myself though meaning I have to wait for a response.

Also, to the OP, if you are a programmer, then I recommend that you try to reverse engineer the track and attempt to convert into NFS3. I have good amount of NFS2 track information for you just in case if you could which I doubt.

I tried Need For Speed:XNA yesterday on my XP SP3. But I already stuck at the installation.

Same, the installation worked only in my laptop with Windows 7.
