Title: Empire City New Concept

Hi everyone,

Maybe it isn't the best track ever saw but it looks very nice I think.
A new version of Empire City. It is a little messy but maybe it will look great.
The treack has got some new textures and it isn't the old sober Empire City anymore.
There are new houses, a police station, Traffic lights,  some new road signs, cones :D , New road textures and rivers.
Photo's will come soon :D

Wow - that looks great - like a real, living city :D And it reminds me of Max Payne for some reason despite the b/w cruisers ;)

Eh, I've got a little problem  :(
The track I'm working on is based on the track Empire Backstreets version II made by Sergi.
Not the orginal Empire City from EA.
Does somebody have got the E-mail adress of Sergi so I can ask permisson for Using his track?
I'm sorry I didn't see I was using his track. :dunno:

@Sergi problem: I've mailed him before, using different addresses, but he never responds. Just give him credit for the original track and you should be good...

But I'm a little frustrated you didn't base it off Version 4? Oh, maybe you didn't want too many extra routes in there... well anyway, versions 4.0 and before have a glitch where if you're (or an AI car is) driving backwards on the highway, they fall through the ground and get stuck. There was a V4.1 that fixed this, but it's lost. So I fixed it myself and made a V4.2, PM me for it :) or I can fix the bug on your track

Well, I am not so very interested in shortcuts in a track. The AI cars should never driver there.
But it looks very nice if there is an alternative route. It looks more realistic :D In the real world there aren't roads without extra roads next to the main road.

I am still working on the track :D

Not so very much. I think the park and the multiple roads from Sergi are the only one.

if you have the Time, is really the way it is.?

I wanted ask you, will you use any the Blinking Red
Lights at all if there are any on the Track.
For your Traffic Signs,.? Make em look better :D ;)

Too many them could Crash the Track im,sure you allready know?

@ _Will_: I have used red blinking red lights in the traffic lights. :D
@ FerrariMan: the signs above the freeway are replaced for better ones ;)

It would be cool if the textures for the water were animated so they resembled waves... just an idea ;)

@ Remko, No I didn't import the "Tollbooth" :D from NFS PU. I've made it by myself. I dont know how to import objects from other tracks. Maybe this isn't possible.

@ _Will_, Yes I had yesterday a black screen when I started Hot Pursuit mode with Empire Ciry NC.
For some reason I had fixed it  :/ Why does NFS HS do that?

Yes, you just have to be careful you don't have TOO many objects, but it is an NFS3 track so your mod should be as playable as, say, Celtic Ruins (CR) as far as polies go.

Hi,.. What do you know about Track Editing FM? :/ Nm,Np.

Hi C4,umm i dont know the 100% Answer to your Q.
But i think it has alot to do with How many High Poly
Cop car's your Using all together,in HP.Mode on your Track.

Causes that Crash crapp, or could be the Object's on Track
Causing that? Also my Friends name was unBtable
That Helped me with Animated objects,at that time. in 09 :)

An some Textures, Imported. Also what about trying to make your Water Fountain Polys, Less wider, maybe it Look better say 3 thinner Strip's?  Just an Idea is all?
What other Idea's are you thinking about for it? :cool:

I don't know how the tollbooth looks like in NFS Porsche. I've modyfied the tollbooth and it looks better now. The arrows on the last screen are animated :D

EDIT: @Will: Sorry about my comment before, I don't really know much about track editing but my point was that I do know about track polies and NFS4 poly limits, I've played NFS4 a while ;)

Hey FM i know you do from what ive seen and what you Told me, Im Sorry for Being Abracesive/Harh. Also im having too Finally Take English Writing Class over. (off Topic Hoping to benifit alot,.?)
Also i think C4, has more experience in editing than i do But i Understand alot of it. As when i did all my Tracks yrs ago :) C4 Man thats Looking so Great Man!
I have alot too say but i dont want over do it like. I Dont even have T3ED Installed on my Pc at home.
But maybe since your busy making many other Thing if i have any Spare time i Could Help you umm, Reset all your Street Light's Straighter for your Project i just have some time until June only Barley then im too Busy. But i Really Like your Efforts Here and Skill can you tell me how old your im just Curious is all.

I'm just older is all Old school type guy. Im Just Glad im going back too College, to Learn my Degree's and Hopefully Land a Good Paying Job some day? for a better Future!. (Sorry im off topic here) But Congrats! and Hopfully, No More Errors that, can/will, Ruin your project :{  So make Back ups at evrey Change of Change of your Project. peace cya next week :D  ;)

The black screen problem can't be my Police Car's, they're less than 3900 polys :D I think it was a problem with some textures.

@ Ferrariman, The track is updated much since I'va mailed it to you. Ther are more animated things in the race and I've fixed some little bugs. But there is one bug I can't repair and that is the shortcut near the cathedral. The road is messed up there :( From the main road you don't see the bug.

I had imported some animated textures and for some reason the game won't start the track with the textures in it. Then I deleted the textures and the track works perfectly.

Are you still looking for beta testers? I'm always willing to give a new track a run. :)

EDIT: The problem you were having with animated textures might be cause by T3ED. By default, it sets an animated texture to have 0 frames (if I remember right), which crashes the game as soon as the object comes into view.

@ unBtable, Would you give me your e-mail adress so I can give you the Beta version? Well it isn't a real beta version. I've made the track in such way that it doesn't look like a Beta version :cool:

@ FerrariMan, The cars aren't from XJ220 but it is a combination of different cars from the internet. Even from Police Garage. The polycount is low but it looks like a High Poly car.

Looking really cool. Say, why don't you make the whole city a little brighter though? It seems it might fit the concept better, imo ;)

The track is I think for 90 % done. It doesn't take very long to finish the track I think. This week I wasn't able to work on the track because I was ill :/ I feel a little better now. Next week will I try to continue the work on the track.

That's a very nice track!

Don't worry about permissions, I tried to contact Sergi a few years ago to release an updated Angel Lake but he never answered. That Angel Lake I made is forever lost because I deleted it accidentally. :(

I usually put in the read-me the car's features, credits, and installation. And copyright © information of the game, that's always important. ;)

I think maybe,you have to have Mikes Federal Agents,come to your House,and they have too search the track file's for SpyBots,and if all clean, then you can up`err. (I coulden't help that um k) :D ;)
I never heard of a permission thingy before,well Mike or Remko,uasally Test out the Track how it runs,
then they usally up it after that? y/w C4

You're free to upload what you want, if that's what you mean. :) As long as it's an NFS-related file that is in the right category. You don't need to ask in advance.

If you mean permission from Sergi, well, Zpectre already covered that at the top of this page. Just don't forget to mention him in the readme, obviously. ;)

:lol: @ WiLL. Heh, it would be nice if we had the time to play-test every file before we 'okay' it, but usually we just check if it's a legit file, if the file is complete, if the pictures show up etc. to avoid any 'broken' uploads.
Depends a little on the time of the day (timezones) or how busy we happen to be, but usually it doesn't take that long for a submitted file to show up on the front page.
Remember that you can upload more than one screenshot for your track. The first one you send in automatically creates the thumbnail picture that you'll see on your file page. :)

I've discovered how I can make Replay cameras in tracks. I've made one for Empire City NC. It is maybe a little messy but that's because it's my first replay I've made. :rolleyes:

Sounds cool, but I recommend either:
a) Finish the cameras so they look great, and then upload that with the track
b) Don't include them at all, until you perfect them. Then update it ;)

Just a suggestion, but it makes sense for all aspects of the track to be of the same high quality :)
Although, I still have yet to see the cameras and maybe they aren't as messy as you assume... honestly I'm sure they're pretty good, at least, the way they are now

Like Fish eyed, neat views, and thats about all.
Because i thought that was Crashing,my track so i Aborted that.
