Nils has come back, look at his previous posting ..
Still very far from a full return, mind you.

That's a nice set of cruisers there :) Especially the generic Sheriff with the all-red setup looks pretty cool!

RTK-4 on the dark green one and indeed the 6th gen on the lighter T4.

Anyhow, I think that green lightbar covers were much more common, even during the dark ages ^^ http://polizeiautos.de/show_one.php?id=1199
But meh, your choice ;)

I *think* the Finnish police cars use the Swedish POLIS on one side and the Finnish Poliisi on the other. Which would of course make mapping the whole thing a bit harder...

The BGS could use a green lightbar cover ;)

I think your tuning measures are okay, it's not like HS turned the CARP data into a correct physics simulation.

P. S.: As far as I am aware, the term 'Grüne Minna' is waaay older than those stone-throwing... guys.

I got permission from NUH Creations for my modded E46 Coupé sooo... :P

Also, I think the 'Grüne Minna' originally is a prisoner transport vehicle. You're misleading our international friends here ;)

Lastly, that French version is from the Police NATIONALE, not municipale.

Enough nitpicking :D I really like the T4 in general, and you created some very nice variations! Mind showing off the Gendarmerie and BGS as well? And there are more nice models in the (European) world. Finland had some nice T4s, so did the Netherlands...

This is great news.:D I'm impressed we reached it this quickly.
To all who contributed, thank you for your support.
My thoughts exactly. We could make this a regular event - can we subscribe to VEG's projects yet? :D

Frank'n'Further.. that name rings a bell.. that film was a gloriously funny pile of.
Anyways, there is no need for having secrets - Unpublished addons usually have the reason that the original authors don't feel comfortable with things. In case of the 933 Atlantica police department, what I did was just a 20 minute mashup of the Atlantica PD vehicle design and Nils's 993, which was lacking so many important details he takes focus on that he didn't want to have it published - which is absolutely okay for me because I also hardly ever allow modifications of my addons to be published.
While I do remember pointing out missing details, I cannot recall keeping you from releasing it. Would kinda contradict my readme 'policies' :P

There was an HS drag strip at JP Racing which, according to its description, actually allowed for proper drag races as long as you set the number of laps to... 2? So, to some degree, it is already possible. Don't ask me how, though :P

You could probably put the Tomb Raider I Lara in there to save polygons ^^

@ Zalcus20 / DrSpeed: What I am wondering - how do you find specific addresses? Do you change randomly/systematically and see what happens or do you scan for certain numbers or something completely else? Perhaps by comparing different Ghost files where you know the setup and look for differences?

Still, the Countach is a mid-engine sportscar, so it's probably superior on the handling-side to a lot of newer cars. Just that HS does not really allow for simulating that characteristic.

And I think we've already established that my theory on a car's beer-transporting-capabilities still needs refinement :D

I personally prefer the :PLATE dummies on civilian cars ;)

Also, I think this one has a mix of projected and calculated normals, doesn't it?

Perhaps marketing reasons? 3dfx might have paid EA to push their graphics API just like games today may show an Nvidia or AMD intro clip.

Sounds like creating a massive overhead in my opinion. Not to mention the flaws of old OS. And driver problems. I think a modern 7 provides much more resources someone like VEG can utilize.

Also, I suppose he's testing in the environment the game will be played in. Switching between OS for dev purposes, e.g. writing code in 7 and then testing in 98 or something, does not sound fun. At all.
