Title: Looking for Ryuji Kainoh's cars!
Post by: Heavyshell on May 07, 2016, 11:53 AM
So, I'm trying to make a folder of all the cars Ryuji Kainoh made for NFS4... I have all the cars available here and on NFSCars, but there are about one hundred and fifty cars still missing in one form or another... To be exact, sixteen cars I've found converted over to other games, one hundred and thirty-nine that I can't find at all. Here's a list of everything, with notes:

Cars I've found converted to Re-Volt

Cars I've found converted to Midtown Madness

Cars with reference pictures available upon request

Cars with no available reference picture

Thanks in advance to anyone who has anything to share! Hopefully we can complete the list by looking through old collections or something. I'll probably upload everything I have that's not here already, and when we finish I'm going to put the whole thin on dropbox.

Respect for the work you put in this post.Maybe in nfs3 section of online sources there are rare kainoh cars. You're certainly not the first one who started a topic about this.

Thanks man! I have found a modified version of his Beetle RSi over on NFSCars NFS3 section, but it hadn't crossed my mind to check NFS3 here! I checked that topic but sadly all of the links are dead now too. :(

I'll check through NFS3 on both sites though and update a new list of "Found as NFS3 car!" It won't be perfect because they'll be missing the interior, but it's better than nothing! :P

EDIT: Gone through the whole NFSAddons NFS3 section and sadly didn't see a single RK car... I'm gonna' go look through NFSCars' NFS3 RK cars though! Thought I might have found RK's Golf but it was a dud...

EDIT 2: Decided to do some Google sleuthing and found an unknown RK car! (That is, it wasn't on the Wayback backup of his site...) It's the Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph!

NFSHome is where I found the Rolls, it was one of four RK cars on the site. The rest of them don't seem to have any of RK's cars that I don't already have a copy of... BUT! I've got good news! I've found RK's Celica converted to Midtown Madness and I'm using the Celica Ultimate concept to restore it! Will update as progress comes.

EDIT: This is a bit harder than I thought it would be... It's obviously RK's Celica, but it almost seems like it's been stretched or something...

EDIT 2: I really wish I could figure out exactly what's been done here, because this thing is not cooperating at all. No matter how I scale it, something is always out of proportion...

So I decided to come here after seeing the thread on NFSCars though I was going to come here and state my intentions eventually.

Originally my plan was to quietly obtain Markus Dippold's CD and release the files publicly with help from this very community. As you all know the only way to get the "Downloads" on his site is through ordering a DVD. Unfortunately I have had to adjust my plans forward to jump on board this ongoing project as soon as possible, through no-one's fault intentionally. Let's just say great minds think alike.

Below is a link to a screenshot of Kainoh's Cima converted to MM2 that I found a couple weeks ago when I embarked on my own, separate mission in obtaining all of his available cars. Shouldn't be that hard to find though I can provide a link if necessary. You'll also find his Maxima, in addition to a couple other cars.
http://img.ctrlv.in/img/16/05/10/573262d57ec27.jpg

It seems Heavyshell's taking care of the restorative modelling which is good as I have practically zero experience in 3D modelling for games such as NFS, though I do wish to have as useful of a role as I can possibly muster as this is probably going to be the last ever search for previously undiscovered Kainoh content for NFS3/4.

And now, a little bit of unrelated news:

In July 2013, I decided to use DownThemAll on Christian Pittet's NFS3 site in the very event that his archive did vanish from the internet. Lo and behold, 2 years later, that very thing happened and now you can no longer publicly download his car collection from anywhere on the internet, and I'll be more than glad to help diffuse the relics of NFS3 history among the community. The only problem is, a grand majority of the files stored inside are without papers, so to speak, so if they were to be uploaded here they wouldn't be attributable to any author in particular. I already checked every car by the way a few weeks ago, there does not appear to a single Kainoh car in there, though you are all free to check.

EDIT: I should mention, as I did on the NFSCars thread through a different account, that the NFS3 section on the attached text file was deliberately left almost empty as I had intended to go through Markus' archive once it was in my hands which is why there are so few in comparison to the other sections.

Also, one thing that didn't occur to me immediately but really should have is that Ryuji Kainoh's cars aren't very, well, complete for lack of a better term. They seem to me as if they're basic conversions from NFS3 with the typical low-poly HS "driver" interior added to make it fit in with the rest of the default cars. They don't have upgrades or an interior. A little idea I conjured up in my head is to perhaps make alternate versions of RK's original cars that combine three cars into one file (for example: The Evo II and Evo III could be upgrades to the Evo I instead of being three separate cars), and to put in an interior, just to make them fit in better with EA's default cars. Only problem I got with that is the test interior I decided to put on his Veyron (McLaren F1 GTR) is blank for some reason, the model loads but the texture doesn't. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Regarding Pittet's archive, I decided to throw caution to the wind as it was only 800MB and am currently it to my MediaFire. I'll make a new thread for when it finishes in a couple hours' time.

And here's a link to Ryuji's MM2 and Revolt collection (minus the Torneo Type-R, didn't even know about that one and was disappointed when I found out that the download on NFSCars was corrupted) just to make sure we're all on the same page:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/pqatyqju5jjacmi/RK_-_Revolt_and_MM2.rar

And finally, just to clarify, what program edits .qfs files? I feel I could re-create some of the lost vidwalls from cars such as those that were converted to Re-Volt if I can find the same photo that Ryuji used back in the day.

Hi Alex_97 I just got your files,Cars are these for nfs3 or 4hs?
Some of them were originally made for NFS3, others for NFS4, but they were converted to Re-Volt and Midtown Madness 2 and then the original files for NFS disappeared, meaning this is all we have now. They need to be converted back to NFS before they can be loaded up correctly again. I know there's a tutorial on converting NFS4 cars to Re-Volt, but not the other way around so I wouldn't have the slightest clue on what to do with them to get them back in the game they were originally made for. I just hope Heavyshell will know what to do with the files I put together.

To be honest I only downloaded a handful of cars by Ryuji Kainoh over the years. Luckily I was able to find 4 High Stakes cars in my archives, and one for NFS3 HP (presuming you're interested in these as well):

https://www.dropbox.com/s/vofmgdajz9obugo/Ryuji%20Cars.zip?dl=0 (7,27 mb)

Includes:
-Maserati 3200GT Assetto Corsa
-Porsche 924 Carrera GT
-Nissan Fairlady Z432
-Techart 996 Turbo GT Street
-Eggenberger Sierra RS500 Cosworth (for NFS3:HP)

If you're still interested in some more NFS3 cars, check:

Not sure if you are still following this thread or not but I have a folder with a bunch of his cars I downloaded a long time ago.  It's not all of them but I had a decent amount.  I uploaded a few of them to NFSCars a few years ago but it just became tedious.  I can take a look at what I have an update later.

Skoti used to have a CD with all his cars, but I can no longer contact him.

In fact, I couldn't contact him even back in 2009 (or was it 2010?).

This is a bump, but it's the latest thread on the subject, so might as well post in it.

The summary of the current state of the restoration of RK's cars is basically the following:

1. I DLed everything that was in NFSCars and here, including the files posted by Remko, of which only three are unique (Maserati 3200GT Assetto Corsa, Nissan Fairlady Z432 and the NFS3 Eggenberger Ford Sierra Cosworth).

2. I have Alex's MM2 and Re-Volt collection, and I'd be willing to bring them back to NFS4 myself, but the state of these cars is unknown, they might not be all original anymore, although, if they're better than the originals, it might be worth keeping them in the state they currently are.

3. AJ_Lethal posted his collection of RK cars many years ago, but of course that link is deprecated. Perhaps he'd be willing to post it again?

4. There's one car in NFSCars with a corrupted download link. It's a random Toyota, not sure if it's worth going after.

5. I haven't gone through Alex's files from Christian Pittet website yet, but it should be very easy to recognize cars from Ryuji Kainoh in that collection. All that's needed is to cross the list in the archive with the list from RK's website which, to my knowledge, was compiled by FerrariMan.

6. The poster above me (Andrew L) has his own collection of RK cars and around the mid-2000s was uploading the missing cars to NFSCars. Perhaps someone could contact him again and see if he can post the files he has. Andrew was known in the early NFS modding scene and had his own website back in the day.

7. Our admin Mike Henderson has said he has the whole website backed up at one point. I wonder if he'd be willing to search through his archives once again?

8. Old NFSCars member Nemesis (known as nunyx in DeviantArt) claimed in 2007 he had all of RK's NFS4 cars and some NFS3 cars, but nothing came out of that.

9. This information I have is often overlooked, but I clearly remember Skoti posting on NFSCars that he used to have a CD with all the content from RK's website. Around late 2009 I was in an RK car hunting spree and tried to contact him first on NFSCars, then later via MSN, but wasn't successful. I remember NFS Bolide (Butch) probably had his contact, because Skoti converted some of his cars to NFS3. I can try talking to Butch about it, but can't assure any success since it's been so long ago.

Between cars downloaded from here and NFSCars, as well as the few files posted by Remko, I have 199 NFS4 cars. The quality seems to improve the later they're made. The vast majority was made for NFS3 first then converted to NFS4. His Carrera GT, Murciélago and Saleen S7 are his best cars.

On related news, since Mike Geise renovated NFSCars last year (website is really nice now BTW), most of the files in there should be safe for now, but, as a precaution, I DLed all of Felixx's cars (another famous modder in the early NFS4 era). There weren't that many, but I think his portfolio is worth preserving.

Before Archive.Org screwed up and went BETA, You could get most anything, I was able to get files from Pursuit Inc. and a simular site known as NFS Virginia, If you had had the direct site of RK's way back then you could have downloaded the files using Archive.Org, Now though this site just plain sucks, It's only archiving articles and pics, None of the download links are archived no more since their stupid BETA took over the site. I think I downloaded most of RK's stuff using Archive.Org and had it stored on a external hard drive that crashed some time back, Once I get this fixed and the data off of it again I'll go though it and see what I got.

I see, thanks for going through the trouble. :)

In the meantime, AJ sent me the few cars he has, and there were some in his collection that weren't available anymore. I'll see if I can upload them.

Keep a eye on N.F.S. Police H.Q. as I will some day post my police conversion of the Datsun 240Z (I made it based off the Matchbox 280Z) I think 240 and 280 is the same car as I can't tell the diffrenece in the 2. AJ helped with this car.

Those five are the cars AJ sent me. Other than those, I only have the cars you've posted earlier. The rest are all available at NFSCars and here. It maybe wouldn't hurt to upload all of them, though.

One thing is certain: none of the websites in the classic NFS resources thread has any content the more active places have.

Re-conversion of the Re-volt cars to HS is an alternative. The meshes are intact. The problem is that, when I import stuff into ZModeler, the normals of the tires seem to be screwed up. It MIGHT not be too difficult to solve, but it's still annoying. And then, because Re-volt uses bitmaps as textures, you have to redo the alpha channel from scratch, not to mention carefully detach the interior from the body.

Even then, the Re-volt pack only has 20 or so cars, we need many more to complete the collection. With many of the cars being unique and unlikely to ever be replicated in another racing game ever again, I think it's worth chasing after those lost cars.

Hey Andrew, thanks for coming here. I want, well... All of them. :D

If you don't want to/have the time to upload them here, I can do it myself. The few I've uploaded were pretty much intact and I didn't take any credit for it, as Remko is just adding them to the backlog instead of having them on the front page since they're not new releases. I kinda want to upload them to NFSAddons since download links become deprecated after a while.

Of course, there are plenty in your list that NFSAddons and NFSCars already have, but most of what you have is unique.

No problem! I am glad I can help and hope this closes the gap on missing cars or maybe even completing the lost cars.  I always liked his work since he made his cars look like they belonged in the game and those vid walls that matched perfectly.  I will zip the whole file and upload to one of those websites like zippyshare or what ever and PM it to you.

PS I did start uploading some of them to nfscars a long time ago like the Mercury Cougar has my name on it as uploader but I stopped because at the time I couldn't find out if I was duplicating cars or what was needed and couldn't get a list.  But either way glad I can help!

No problem! I believe you did that more than a decade ago, and at that time it was time consuming to do it because internet speeds were much lower and to my knowledge fiber wasn't well implemented yet. So it's understandable.

There were people there at NFSCars who claimed they had all of the cars but they left long ago.

Just sent.  Let me know if the link works Will had trouble with it on his but he's on mobile so I think that's why the link didn't work for him.  It worked for Zpectre though!

I just want to add one thing I pointed out to Zpectre because the GT90 is my favorite car of all time.  The GT90 has 2 inaccuracies 1 I believe it's listed as front engine instead of mid 2 the horn is a Japanese horn and not an American horn like in NFS2/SE.  Zpectre said they are easy fixes but I have no idea since I have never edited cars so if someone wants to do a GT90 Special Edition I would really appreciate it!  8) :P

EDIT: actually 3.  If I remember last time I played with the GT90 I imported the proving grounds from NFS 2 and tried to hit it's top speed but it could only go up to about 205 or so.  The GT90s reported top speed was 235 when they tested it back in the 90s.

Thank you very much, Andrew! :D
The download link works perfectly on my computer. :)

Regarding the inaccuracies of RK's GT90, they can be fixed by editing the carp file and replacing the bnk file inside the viv by using NFS Wizard.

I have also some cars reworked from Re-Volt Mosler MT900 and Toyota Yaris (uploaded by Zpectre, thanks!)

If I good remember (correct me if I'm wrong) Mr. Kainoh made only a car meshes and somone help him with textures. There is a another carmaker who made very smillar cars to him. His name was (I don't remeber if it correct) Tsubasa. His work has been forgotten and it is impossible to find it. I have only two cars made by him here for example his Nissan 180SX. I think we can bet that they know each other.

https://imgsafe.org/image/816233e4a2

Another interesting thing is one of them was to be in cooperated or associated in work on... Gran Turismo (1-2+). I know it sounds weird, I was a lot of thinking about it. If we extract textures from GT2 they looks very smillar of course they are very lowres but even rims looking familiar. Let's continue, the textures used by Kainoh were on a professional level at that time when he created his cars. Even the original cars from EA are worse in comparison. At that time, it was difficult to find textures on similar level to so many cars. I think they had access to source of Gran Turismo. But that's just my theory ;)

One more thing just before he stop making cars due to violations his work by others (we know good whole story) I remember his beta car over which he worked. It was a Bentley Hunaudieres.
Well well, what we have here... even vidwall looks familiar.

Hey guys after searching for a bit, I found a database with cars dated from 2002, I think some cars may be from Ryuji. The downside is that you can see the author on the readme files after you download the cars. So it should take a while.

Here's the link: I hope it helps.

You could just put them on here or another site, Likely easier than having to trust sites that tend to delete files that have not hit X amount of downloads in X time.

@Andrew L: Thanks for putting the link here

I just wanted to ask, are there cars (not just RKs) that are not on nfscars or here that we know of? (for nfs3/4)
@Keiiko: Dunno if i understand where your question is pointing exactly... there are definitely cars/modifications that just vanished from public completely. Especially bigger sites, like JP Racing, www.nfsunlimited.net, www.nd4spdworld.com or www.nfsstreetdogs.de took down many content with their closing - but also small sites that vanished, often hosting "exclusive" mods.
Im sure there is a lot of stuff saved in private collections, but unless someone is asking for specific files, not much of it is reuploaded at other places (like nfsaddons/nfscars).
The problem is, nobody has a complete overview of all the stuff uploaded over time :)
Naturally, also due to the sheer amount of data, nobody can have a complete backup of all files ever uploaded for these games...

i can remember i downloaded the whole archive from JP Racing and BMW Sport when they were online, but it's long ago. it can be that there are some newer files missing; and i have the complete v8 super cars from aussie muscle. i thought about uploading them here, but on original website it says that it's not allowed to upload these files on any other site
apart from that, do you guys know if nfscars.net deleted some cars after the new design? i think there are less cars today than it was with the old design
@Keiiko: if you look through the whole screenshots of the day archive you will find many cars and/or tracks you've probably never seen.. at least it is for me like that
btw there are missing very much race tracks for nfs high stakes here and on nfscars.net if you look at the internet archive here:
http://web.archive.org/web/20030716234605/http://www.nd4spdworld.com:80/?section=track&v=4&pagenr=0&listorder=ASC&listsort=
and here used to be the v8 super cars and all the other cars from aussie muscle which i be missing, too, but i have the supercars though, really beautiful models:

Hello,
a very noble offer from you.
May i ask, did you save this large fileamount by manual downloading or you had a special technique or software? Especially sites nfsunlimited.com made it very dificult to do batch downloading...

Not confuse nd4spdworld.com with nfscars.net - they are different sites. Indeed nd4spdworld.com went down and took many files with it - but you may have noticed, archive.org saved lot of files from there. Of course not nearly as many files as the site once had.

The nfscars.net site is a different story. While they lost pictures of some mods after the redesign in 2015, the files stayed the same afaik. There is only problems with the database i think, where files with names containing special characters (é,á.. etc) getting corrupted (or the links to them more precisely). Just no one cares there, fixing stuff for older NFS titles. We can be glad the search functions returned in 2017 with the new gray design.
White (bad) redesign nfscars.net (2015-2016): Link (http://web.archive.org/web/20161118230739/http://www.nfscars.net/)

Interesting Aussie collection there too  :)
The site says cars by "Accadacca" (aka AC/DC) though, not Aussie Muscle.
Aussie Muscle had his own site at totalnfs.net... Link (https://web.archive.org/web/20021010010244/http://aussiemuscle.totalnfs.net:80/amnfs/index.html)
Or are they the same guy?

@pete9516, I might come back to your offer for files from www.nfsunlimited.net - its still possible to surf the archive there, since the site and its database is still online.
Might be a good chance to easily grab some files for everyone who missed out something from that site.
So thanks again for your tender offer pete9516.

Greetings

no, i guess i had just really much time xd and i just feeled that day would come that when the servers would be shut down :/
about nd4spdworld.com : i just took an example of an old nfs site which used to have all the older content from a point when i didn't use mods. it really makes me sad not to be able to drive those old tracks and/or cars :S

oh wow, i never knew nfscars.net made such a flashy design.. not my favour

oh, you're right! they're from Accadacca.. my bad

well no problem, i only want to help other people who have the same issue as me ^^

Nope, different guys, although both Aussies  ;) and both members of the TotalNFS - later Racerplanet network.
AussieMuscle (Kevin Wolfe) is of course known for his huge number of unique Australian NFS3 and 4 mod cars. Accadacca (real name Rob) indeed named after the band, as a lifelong fan 8) was more known as a track builder, especially Bathurst (aka Thunder Mountain) together with Nite, and the highspeed oval/dragstrip Performance Center. He did make a bunch of cars of his own, mostly dragsters, but I don't think they were ever officially released: https://web.archive.org/web/20050211175256/http://www.totalnfs.net:80/nfs4/cars/index2.html

Hi Pete, if you indeed backed up sites like BMWsport and JP racing, then at least 2 cars come to mind that I always assumed I had in my backups, but turned out to be gone when I looked for them recently.

One is this McLaren F1 GTR 95 with "West" livery, made by CPD. I have CPD's other 2 McLaren's, the XP5 roadversion, and the orange LM version. but this one is missing. It is probably an .exe file, like most of CPD's releases. I do not know the exact name.

Second one is this 1970 Boss Mustang by Robert (aka Nikkon), not to be confused with this car, btw: http://www.nfsaddons.com/nfshs/cars/Ford/232/

I don't remember if it was at JP racing, but it was at RunR's Racing Central: https://web.archive.org/web/20040919022828/http://rc.racerplanet.com:80/nfs4cars.php?s=250&mode=author&design=standard (second from the top) in case you happened to have visited that one too.  :)
Unfortunately I don't know the exact filename either, could be "Boss" or "Boss302", but maybe there are more of that name.

Thanks in advance if you have time to look for them, and if not, no hard feelings. ;)

Hello there fellow, i have 1 good and 1 bad news for you. the bad one: i didn't find the mustang boss. i only found similiar models with different drivers, etc., different textures, and i found this dead car thread of nd4spd.de which reveals that the model or at least the body texture has been used for more more than one cars which might increase the chance to get that thing somehow, BUT without a filename (thx to the wayback machine for not saving anything at all) i'm helpless. i tried every file with the letters in it of "boss", "mustang" to "302" but they're all different cars. i found a model which was nearly the same as you mentioned, but it had a different hood and it just hadn't the nice stripes on it, so i think the chances to get this car are very low. if only the internet archive wouldn't have become so strange and so many links dead, we could get all the files we want >.>
well, now to the good news lol, i have found the McLaren, it's an executable file as you said, but the names are not like "cpd_mclarenf1_xp5.exe" or "cpd_mclarenf1_lm.exe" but rather "mclarengtr95.exe", so it actually helped a lot that you said it's probably an .exe file
now that i'm wondering how i should send you the file, how about uploading the car here? with respective credits and such, for giving an opportunity for others to get it, too? i hope there won't be any protests or such, since i would give respective credits and/or copyrights and such
well i hope i will find the mustang boss some day in my archive and let's hope the internet archive will be normal again some day

All these cars or lost. I have the cars but lost the readme.txt. some of them were on JP racing and RunR's Racing Central.

Pete, thanks for your effort and the quick reply. :D Cool that you managed to retrieve the F1 GTR. I have backups and folders with hundreds of nfs4 cars too, I can relate that filtering through them to find 'That One Car' can eat up a lot of your time, good thing it being an exe file helped.  ;)

If you don't mind, uploading here would be great. If you could grab a screenshot from it (doesn't have to be fancy, a menu pic is fine) it's also no problem if you don't know al the extra info (top speed, polycount, etc.).

Exclusivity is not really a reason anymore for sharing cars here on NFSAddons, IMO. That stems from the time when most authors had their own websites and weren't too happy about traffic going to other people who would mirror their hard work in their own collections without permission. It's not really an issue when many of those author sites stopped existing 10 or more years ago.

Finding the Boss was of course difficult with no filename or other specific search tags, and there being so many mustangs out there. I wasn't aware that there were a few edits going round, thanks for that nd4spd link. And thanks for your time. ;)

Oh hi Cooya! that would be neat, thanks. :D I always meant to re-upload it here, but all I could find in my backups was a loose car.viv from a very old game setup, and I prefer it when it's an original Zip with readme and proper credit, etc.

Hi Cooya!....that's long time ago. Do you have Samman's cars '27 Ford Model T, '33 Vicky & '57 Chevy Belair custom Nomad on your HDD?

Hi Noise, weren't you also looking for Samman's ZZtop Eliminator? i could be mistaken, though.  ;)

You mean different from http://www.nfsaddons.com/nfshs/cars/Nissan/473/  ?
Admittedly it doesn't have a readme file, but it could have been released without one. Back then, cars were sometimes shared via discussion boards like NFSCheats, while being 95% finished instead of 100. And they weren't always followed up later by a 100% complete 'official' release, that could be the case here.

Remko you are right about Skyline. And I think you send me the ZZ top eleminator (remember?) Other cars by Samman also come witbout readme like Chevy el camino '60.

Since CPD's mclaren is uploaded, actually without authors permission many lost cars can be reuploaded. Too bad I don't have all the readme's of my "lost" cars. There are good cars among them.

Hey pete,

i have a list of files from nfsunlimited im interested in, which seems not to be available elsewhere.

(https://www.nfsunlimited.net/files/data/4/4916/4794.jpg)1930 Ford Drag Pickup v4.0Justin Martin   rpud.zip

@Remko: The '30 Ford Drag Pickup is the same as the corrupted one  http://www.nfsaddons.com/nfshs/cars/Ford/82/
(like reported here (http://www.nfsaddons.com/forums//index.php?topic=956.msg35844#msg35844))

Furthermore i found this vehicle on nfsunlimited:
Despcription says its a "1957 Oldsmobile Super 88", but i guess the picture has been confused...
The file there probably was this car:
http://www.nfscars.net/need-for-speed-high-stakes/2/files/view/3239/
But Im specifically looking for the car in the picture with the blower (maybe a Crown/LTD) - anyone has an idea? The driver lady was typically used in cars from "Buck Murdoc" and "Driven Out". So i guess its a car from one of these authors.

@pete:
also note these threads if you in the mood  ;)

ok short answer to you guys since i have to go to work:
i have all cars except the Alcohol Camaro which really p*sses me off because i actually should have it but maybe there has been a network error while downloading.. also i remembered to own many nice tracks, but somehow they are not on my drive anymore. BUT for this case i can give you all cars except the nd4spd.de ones, i have to look for them more carefully, i didn't ever make a backup of the site, but maybe the files were saved on jp racing or nfsunlimited.net. the 4 killuncle cars of the new thread i have too, and the jx22.zip is even at nfscars.net
i'm going to upload them asap if the webmasters and admins have enough time to letting my uploads pass the queue :D

@MADMAN_nfs: Car with blower is probably Oldsmobile Delta 88 Drag by Driven_out.
Title: Re: Looking for Ryuji Kainoh's cars!
Post by: MADMAN_nfs on Jul 31, 2018, 11:49 AM
You are right noise! It is a Delta 88 made by "Driven_Out". I also found it in my backups now.
Actually, it is still available online at nfshome, funnily under the same wrong name (wrong author and carname) as at nfsunlimited.net
http://www.nfshome.com/cars.php?version=4&action=preview&id=31

To my defense i gotta say, the Delta88 does indeed look similar to a '80 LTD Crown   :D

@MADMAN_nfs:
small update on the Alcohol Camaro: i have it!!! but the file name isn't alcoholcamaro.zip but rather 77alcoholcamaro.zip and that's why i didn't find it.
so i'm gonna upload them here one after each other if that's ok for you.
i don't know if i should upload the xj220 by killuncle or not. since this car is on nfscars.net. maybe i'll do it when the dl's are down some day :D

Thanks a lot mate! We are not in a hurry, take your time :)

For the Killuncle cars, BoxCarRacer initially asked for these particular versions from nfsunlimited.net
[...]however I checked that in NFS Unlimited are the last versions he released [...]
So im not sure if there is any difference to the files i have provided (Killuncle cars (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9GvVBe_jcR9Ni04YXdYWEtVWDg)) compared to the nfsunlimited zips
(my files are from various sources)
So i thought its an opportunity to check for that :)

Allright, i'm going to compare these with the nfsunlimited ones when i'm home and will let you know
Title: Re: Looking for Ryuji Kainoh's cars!
Post by: pete9516 on Aug 01, 2018, 8:56 AM
allright there is a difference between your jx221.zip and the jx22.zip :
jx221.zip has only jx22.qfs included, but jx22.zip has a ReadMe.txt , shJx22.qfs , jx22.qfs , jx221.qfs and jx222.qfs (and of course the car.viv in both)

Lcou1.zip (yours) has a different car.viv than Lcou2.zip which would be the download file on nfsunlimited.net for the Lamborghini Countach. lcou1.zip has 1.858KB, lcou2.zip has 1.803KB

the readme's from the r390 gt1 are different, in the one from nfsunlimited are more website links

that would be it. if somebody else knows some car which seems to be lost and has a file name or at least a speculation about it please tell me
Title: Re: Looking for Ryuji Kainoh's cars!
Post by: MADMAN_nfs on Aug 01, 2018, 9:22 AM
So, like BoxCarRacer suspected these are newer, updated files it seems.
You also should have an Lotus Elise additionally (elisegt1.zip) from nfsunlimited.
Would be great to have them on nfsaddons imo. Here is an overview of Killuncle cars btw: Link (http://members.tripod.com/night_hawk96/nfshs/cars.html), some are available at nfscars.

edit: and Killuncle's site at webarchive: Link (https://web.archive.org/web/20010205053300/http://killuncle.omega-design.net:80/nfs4_cars.html)
unfortunately all captured zip files are corrupted there...

there is this Mazda Eunos Roadster by KillUncle
and you can get a similar one here
https://www.dropbox.com/s/4sciswmfsdf77fp/mazda_eunos_roadster.zip?dl=0
i don't know whose dropbox this is but thanks to the one who shared it, but anyway this model is different from KillUncle ones, but it is pretty similar
and the elisegt1.zip will be uploaded here with the others. thanks for your info about the corrupt zip files, now i have to be careful with files from the wayback machine. i hope that the ones i downloaded before are not all screwed up. it's really weird, the car.viv can't be opened by nfs wizard, but if you try with VIVEdit.exe you can get certain files out of it, but the rest of it which makes the car complete have 0KB and no name. i'm wondering what has to happen to a zip archive that something like this happens :/

one month has passed now and the cars are not at the page yet (Post#68 (http://www.nfsaddons.com/forums//index.php?topic=1813.msg36149#msg36149)). Just wanted to ask whats going on   :)

Are you busy at them moment? Do you have problems with uploading here at nfsaddons? Maybe put them on an external filehoster meanwhile?

Any info is appreciated, Greetings.

Hi, pete9516, since you have the JP Racing site files, can I ask you for some cars? I give you ''ID nr.'' and carname, is that enough?
Title: Re: Looking for Ryuji Kainoh's cars!
Post by: pete9516 on Aug 27, 2018, 9:31 AM
it's a shame that you can't display the single website links of each car at jpracing.racerplanet.com in the internet archive, since the only way i can search for lost cars are file names and file sizes, but the good news is that i can easily search for the car and look how large is the file and search them in my archive, but for this i need the exact car name from the page.
https://web.archive.org/web/20050309023953/http://jpracing.racerplanet.com:80/modules/mydownloads/viewcat.php?cid=1
what you could do for me is to search for each car you're missing the car producer and the name of the car jp racing displays, then i look for the file size and i will inspect each file in my archive that has this size. or if somebody has the file names that would be faster, but who has them actually :P so i guess this would be the only way

uhm.. i have found 2 different versions of this car.
the readme's looks pretty much the same
one of it seems to be the one Remko has posted, and the other one looks similiar, but i think either the colors are choosen badly or the alpha channel of the .txd has not the right color. maybe converted from nfs3 or so

Thank you

ggti.zip is the only archive i found. it contains the 2003 Volkswagen Golf GTI from Viper Jay 5

at JP Racing there never even was a Plymouth section lol i'm not sure if i find it, do you have any ideas how it could have been named? maybe fedata identity? if you have an idea how it could have been named that would probably help a lot, thx
PS: i think i found it, the readme says it's from Ryan Trevisol and there is an e-mail adress: Tomcat@nfscheats.com
car name would be: '69 Plymouth Road Runner 440+6
in the readme he says this would be the newer version of that road runner
please tell me if this is it before i upload another outdated version of a car :P

Oke...not that 440, the fedata says: rr44
Title: Re: Looking for Ryuji Kainoh's cars!
Post by: noise on Aug 30, 2018, 1:53 PM
Can I annoy you with others?

Nissan 180sx by Donnie Briscoe, probably n180 in fedata.
Ferrari F40 Hamann by JPRacing, probably f40h in fedata.
Ferrari 512 Testarossa by Thomas Egelkraut & Mouratos, probably ftes in fedata.
Chevrolet EL Camino '60 by Samman, 60el (quite sure)
Chevrolet Belair '57 Nomad Custom HotRod by Samman, cbcu (sure again)
Ford '40 Coupe Custom by Ryan T (Tomcat) probably 1940 in fedata.

I Know some of these may be availible elswhere, but they come without readme.

JP racing had in interesting way of categorizing his cars sometimes, pretty all the vintage American cars are listed under "hot rods", more or less in chronological order: https://web.archive.org/web/20050420142819/http://jpracing.racerplanet.com:80/modules/mydownloads/viewcat.php?cid=87

Both Ryan/Tomcat's Roadrunners are there, and yes, there was an earlier version, released in Nov. 2000, called '69 Roadrunner, and an updated version called 440+6, from July 2001. I prefer the updated one, with stripes and scoop on the hood, more detailed undercarriage, etc. Also the normals (reflections) seem better.
But I have the older version too, if anyone's interested. Looking at these screens again, I notice it's got two people inside (possibly because it was also made into a pursuit car)

Red car: older, blue car: newer (440+6)
Title: Re: Looking for Ryuji Kainoh's cars!
Post by: pete9516 on Aug 30, 2018, 4:08 PM
i have all those cars, even the roadrunner, but i just don't find the F40 Hamann by JP, there's something strange going on with his cars, i have the feeling i never downloaded them, or they didn't use to be in the nfs 4 cars section which actually can't be
Edit: i was right, JP Racing had their own section for Tracks, Cars, Mods; their files were not listed in the general section, but as i remember right, i only downloaded the general section and not the special one with JP Racing stuff only. so i'm afraid i don't have any stuff from JP. sorry

The Ford Cougar II'64's fedata.eng says it's a 63 Cougar II. And the readme doesn't say anything about the car as always. But this must be it. There was no other. Maybe i can upload them all this weekend, but i'm not sure. But be sure that i will upload them. :P

If this car is not available anymore on the web, can i have it?

Hi Pete,I'll send you the link in a week or so, I'm currently on a short vacation so I don't have access to my files. ;)

Also Thanks to Madman and Pete for sharing some of the lost files from your archives - and thanks AJ for the two tracks you uploaded earlier this week. I'm not sure why they didn't show up in the Latest Additions list, but here they are:

Hi Cooya!....that's long time ago. Do you have Samman's cars '27 Ford Model T, '33 Vicky & '57 Chevy Belair custom Nomad on your HDD?

Also look for:

-Porsche 911 (930) Carrera RS 2.7 by Freak-DS (nfs5 conversion)
-Porsche 924 carrera GTS by Ryuji Kainoh & Freak-DS
-Ford Mustang '66 GT Pursuit by Ryan T.
-Aston Martin DB7 by Marc Schmeling
-BMW Hamann HM50 (based on Manutius)
-Porsche 911 (993) Polizei by LHX & Paul
-VW Gol GTI 2.0 by JP Racing
-VW Kever Tuned Bug by J.Loredo & Manola
-Peugeot 206 CC 2.0 & XS 1.6 by Gregory Blech
-Mazda RX-7 Veilside CII by FiveSpeed
-Nissan 180 SX by Donnie Briscoe
-Dodge Stealth ES '91 by DodgeBoy
-Plymouth Fury '77 Coupe by Baardk
-Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R by Antiguabill

All these cars or lost. I have the cars but lost the readme.txt. some of them were on JP racing and RunR's Racing Central.

Do you still work on nfs4 projects Cooya!?

What other police cars you got that was lost?, You can send them to me and I'll get them up, I don't trust those RapidShare type sites as after 30 days they get deleted, Which is stupid, So I'd reccomend people put them on the regular mod sites. I used to have tons of police vehicles from NFS StreetDogs but they sit on a external drive that crashed and I don't know when or if I can have it restored to get them back, Really makes me mad that they want so much money to even attempt it. And if they can't they won't refund either.

Sadly not the ones I'm missing, the best ones on these sites are mainly just old PoliceGarage and Pursuit Inc. files.

Among the ones I lost are 2 very rare ones I never saw anywhere else..the Emergency truck 51 and a white AutobahnPolizei Stuttgart Porsche 911 Tara.

I just wanted to announce that I have added a handful of older and (sometimes) harder to find addon cars for NFS4. I have chosen not to add them to the Latest Additions list, since I prefer to keep that for new releases.
One of these is the 1977 Alfa Romeo Nueva Super that I accidentally added to the Latest list anyway, the others can be seen if you look at the most recent additions on the NFS4 Downloads page, but I'll list them here anyway:

1966 Ford Mustang coupe GT by Ryan Trevisol (http://nfsa.ca/c3312)

Glad you mentioned this (maybe better in a new forum topic). Mustang and Alpine Gendarmerie are very worth to reupload. leps GT3 cup is also on nfscars.net.

About police cars:

'72 Seat 127 Police by Seta127
'66 Mustang GT pursuit by ryanT
Lamborghini Murcielago NFS Police by WWPD (based on M.Leps)

These need reupload too, but I have no readme's.

I forgot to send you this back in the day, because I thought you'd only be interested in the newer updated 440 GTX version and had forgotten this older version is still interesting in its own right.

Hi everyone! :)
I registered especially because I'm looking for some car mods from dead sites such as JP Racing or Ryuji Kainoh's site. Pity they're not working anymore - they had some great cars not uploaded elsewhere. Well, let's go straight to the point - here are the cars I'm looking for:
1. Ferrari 360 Modena F1 v2.0 by Jhonnyspeed (https://web.archive.org/web/20040130143632/http://jpracing.racerplanet.com:80/modules/mydownloads/viewcat.php?cid=105&min=10&orderby=titleA&show=10) - I know it's also on NFSCars but the it's a previous version with worse 3D model and there's only Spider v2.0 on this site.
2. Ford GT90 by Ryuji Kainoh - mainly for EA-styled vidwall.
3. Aston Martin DB7 by Marc Schmeling - it could be great replacement for EA's one.

Thank you!

Hey there,
i can help you with point 1. and 2. of your request. Guess these cars are indeed not available at any active website.
The Ferrari 360 2.0 by Jhonnyspeed i put here https://drive.google.com/open?id=11SmvbEaJSmWri4p5NByuKdRsAhcqgFe7
The GT90 is part of a Ryuji Kainoh archive, that was created/linked in this thread by AndrewL before (https://www.nfsaddons.com/forums/index.php/topic,1813.msg36097.html#msg36097).
I uploaded the zip here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1UVqSail_JAa7cbjdbq3SNlvlEd6Vs-2L
The Aston Martin DB7 by Marc Schmeling is not in my backups unfortunately. Maybe someone else can help.

You might also check different, active sites that are listed in the Online-Resources thread (https://www.nfsaddons.com/forums/index.php/topic,1710.0.html).
Do you have any backups of High Stakes files yourself?

I happen to have another Jhonnyspeed F360 which seems to be lost. It has 11000 polies instead of 7400. it has the same quality as VSO's version. Again no readme.txt.

I didn't know about these DB7s. Which do you have?

It seems it's the lastest version of Jhonny's 360 but it's too detailed unfortunately.

Bumping this old post, but incase you haven't noticed, Skoti has uploaded the rest of RK's NFS3 cars. You can see them all here (https://www.nfsaddons.com/downloads/nfshp/cars/author:ryuji-kainoh/)

I am working through his NFS4 cars, and all Class B cars are currently uploaded (https://www.nfsaddons.com/downloads/nfshs/cars/author:ryuji-kainoh/)

I will be starting on the Class A, then AA, then AAA soon

There are still 52 cars in a "Car Skins" folder that are needing upload, once I test/screenshot/figure out if they are that different from what is already uploaded

Other than that, his cars are all archived on the site now

Sorry to bump this thread, but I noticed I couldn't locate Kainoh's Rover 200 BRM. Was it missed perhaps?

Also, if anyone has a complete list of all his cars they would be willing to share, it would be of great help for me for archiving/organizing!
