Editing Projects / Touchups and Continuation

So we all love Frank's reworks of Baardk's Plymouth Fury..Right? Well I noticed something with the side mirrors, They are a bit too scooped, They would be more flat coin shape, So I decided to replace them with more accurate shaped ones and also I decided to continue on with the MoPar Police fleet, I'm also adding Plymouth Volare since I have a nice base for it thanks to RenaFox on SketchFab. Anyway, Here's the first edit, USAF Security Police 1978 Dodge Monaco, Not sure if they actually used this car but I saw several Plymouth Volares (which I copied the paint scheme from).

I also learned (chatting with former CHP) somes does and don'ts here..CHP DID use Dodge Coronet and Monaco but NOT Plymouth Satelite and Fury (so stay away from those) LAPD and LA County S.O. used the Plymouths though so I will make the 1975-76 Plymouth Fury LAPD and LA County S.O. and Illinois State Police used the 1975-76 Plymouth Fury as well.

Off-Topic Discussion / Racers Vs Police
« on: Sep 26, 2019, 12:28 PM »
Racers Vs Police, A free Russkie game, Basically a "tried so hard but not quite" attempt at N.F.S. HighStakes with HotPursuit 2 graphics capibility, You can play as either a street racer or the Police (which also have riced out cars like the racers but not as riced LOL) =D.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sz4K5i4kEQ

I decided to have a look at the models and they ain't too bad, they lack gaps in the body for doors and such (that is why the Police cars have a very generic design and just have writing on the hood and trunk cause on the sides everything is mirrored so they just have 88 on the back door is all), The overall paint jobs resemble early fall of U.S.S.R. Militia paint scheme of a white vehicle with blue hood, doors, and trunk, Which as you all mostly know now they mainly use white or silver vehicles for Russian Police with blue stripes vs solid blue doors, hood, and trunk, Police get a Lada 110 and Lada 2107. I tinkered with them some to give them a more accurate paint job on the police but not much can be done until the body is edited, I look someday to mod ::) this game though but don't know what tools I'd use to edit the cop lights and other features

Ok after recently upgradeing my game PC from HDD to SSDs only I ran into stupid issues, One was NFS HighStakes not running  :o >:( But I FINALLY got it to run and with the Veg Patch as I was using before, The 2nd problem though I don't know what caused it or how to fix it, My ZModeler 1.07B is refusing to show textures on models, I tried deleting the default and replacing that with a model's .TGA, Nope, I tried opening Texture Browser and manually loading TGAs into that, Nope again.  >:( Finally I tried copying the vehicles to a USB stick and opening stuff on my LapTop and it displays textures fine on that, So I tried copying all the files from the LapTop's ZModeler 1.07B over to my PC, Nope, Nothing, same issue. Anyone know what caused this and how to fix it? It only seems to happen on my PC, On the LapTop ZModeler 1.07B works as usual and displays TGAs fine and auto finds them when you open a CAR.FCE as it should.

Editing Projects / Police Quest Games
« on: Sep 10, 2018, 3:31 PM »
I have decided to (along with the help of CVPI19) bring the police vehicles from Police Quest to NFs HighStakes, Police Quest fans rejoice  ^-^ =D.

We start with the first, the original Police Quest from 1987, I loved playing this game over and over and over on my RadioShack Tandy T1000 as a kid   ^-^ =D ;). I have faithfully recreated the patrol car from that.

Next up was Police Quest 2 (1988) another game I loved to play on my Tandy T1000 back in the day  ;).

Then we have Police Quest 3, Sadly a game I didn't play much due to the hard steering of the cars and how easy it was to crash, None the less these cars are nice cars (1990's Ford Mustangs) What was funny is how the cars got flipped round thus placing the blue light on the WRONG side on the lightbar and the rear flashers in the wrong setup :P.

Finally we have Police Quest 1 VGA, A half remake half totally new game (as it is slightly diffrent from the original Police Quest) I loved playing this game and still do sometimes thanks to GOG. The car is a 1978 Dodge Monaco for the police units and the unmarked car is a white Ford TBird, The marked unit features the exact same shield on the doors seen on the PQ3 Mustangs, Since it never shows it clearly I had to guess as to what it might look like in a real world, So I modded the city of San Pablo,Ca. police patch to a Lytton, Ca. police emblem.  ;)

Ok so who remembers the Bandit remake with Brian Bloom? Well I found a car to make his car from (Dodge Stealth) but it needs insides,a driver, and diffrent hubcaps but none the less I think it'll work and I've also made Sheriff Enright to give chase.

Sheriff Enright is ready and will be released soon and Bandit will be released once the needed modifications are done to the Stealth.

Editing Projects / The happy police car
« on: Apr 15, 2017, 2:23 AM »
I finally got a decent base and now I have most of it done too, I now present one of the happiest looking cop cars I have ever saw :D XD.  :police:

It's SOOO happy and it's awaiting it's driver then I'll game test it and release it. For now I sent it to RacingFreak to fix those normals issues on the doors.

I figured I'd put this on here as well so here goes, For about 2 years now I been bringing my diecast and plastic model emergency vehicles to life by way of NFS HighStakes ,I started out simple enough doing the HotWheels 1977 Dodge Monaco Sheriff,Police, and Highway Patrol, and Fire Chief car (these have yet to be released though as these was made with a crappy base and I'm going to use a better one first) Then I made the 1991 Welly diecast Chevy Caprice police and Matchbox 1987 Ford LTD police series, All while still having to cope with poly limits, But NO MORE, Thanks to the modern patch I now can let you know of a upcoming car that tops out at around 30,000 polys for HighStakes :P. The Matchbox Rover 3500 police.

It will be made using this car.:

It also will have some of the most detailed emergency lights ever saw in HighStakes ever XD, It will have 2 lights made from this car:

Resized to fit detailed insides with a very detailed rotator and even light bubs in it :P. Pics coming of the progress when I get home..Enjoy :).

How many of you know the Dragnet series and love it?   =D ^-^ :police:?

I have been binge watching this since age 14 or so and still do today occasionally, I like most that was my age at the time they started started with the color Dragnet 1967-1970 series, However back when I worked for Sam's Club I bought a DVD set they had of Dragnet there, Thinking it was that same series I poped it in and was amazed, This was a black&white series from the 1950's vs what I was used to watching :o. This got my curiosity sparked so I looked into it on Wikipedia, I discovered it started as a radio show in 1949 and that ran til 1957, The DVDs I'd picked up was the FIRST TV series of Dragnet from 1951-1957.

Fast forward many, many years into the future and I got to thinking it would be great to put these cars the main characters used in my favorite PC game I mod, After much searching I finally found a suitable car to make the gold Ford Fairlane 500 4 door used in the color TV series, It would indeed be the ultimate test of the Veg patch as this was a GTA 4 car at topped out at 80 thousand plus polys  :o. While all went fine with ZModeler 1 (just slowed it loading a bit) it crashed my other editing programs  :-[ So like it or not I had to cut this down..ALOT!,

Finally I got it knocked way down, I haven't took a final count yet now that it's done (was just too happy to bother) but I'd say around 15000-16000 or so maybe less..

Anywho..I found out there was 2 diffrent cars used, One was the 1967 Ford Fairlane we all know and love.:

But few knew there was a inital Dragnet movie from 1966 which was the pilot of what became Dragnet 1967-1970. In this movie they used the 1966 Fairlane which has some minor diffrences from the 1967 as you xcan see.:

Is there a way to convert NFS 3 tracks to NFS 4 and if so what do you do? I saw some I'd like to try on NFS 4.
