Hi,
In the past few months I checked my nfs4 carcollection. In the beginning I didn't keep the readme.txt, but I always knew the author(s).I like to show you 34 nfs4 cars which I cannot find on any online source. So I'm looking for original .zip's of these cars.
So far I like to thank Remko, xj220 and MADMAN_nfs for their help.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/17gozrvatezhunc/lost%20nfs4%20cars.jpg?dl=0
The Honda S2000 veilside and Ferrari F40 Hamann are allready found.
-
I hear you Noise Is Sad, Velside would be cool again an the H2 Hummer.
-
I don't remember doing a "930" Carrera RS. The only RS 2.7 I remember so far is this one, which is still hosted:
http://www.freak-ds.de/downloads/cars/901CarreraRS27/info.php
However, this is a 901 (F-model) type, not a 930.
Here's the 980:
http://www.freak-ds.de/downloads/oldshit/dtc980.zip
-
@Freak-DS: Thnx, I pm you a download link for that Porsche, maybe it helps, otherwise I don't know who made it.The car has the same licenseplate as your 930 turbo nfs5 conversion.
what about the Irmscher Astra?
-
I just read an old pm from you with more cars, most of those are still on my hdd. Here's that GSi:
http://www.freak-ds.de/downloads/oldshit/Opel_OACIGSI16V_R.zip
Edit: That RS certainly isn't mine, I never used that driver ;)
-
Thnx, that old pm contains cars I allready found b.t.w..
You consider that Irmscher Astra ''oldshit'' ?,
-
A long time ago (several years) I swear I saw a screenshot of a high-poly, very well modeled Vector W8 Twin Turbo for High Stakes. It was NOT the low-poly one that comes with the expansion pack and it was NOT Venom's M12.
Does anyone know anything about that?
-
You asked for that before didn't you? I only know Kevin Suske made a W8 in 2001 and on http://www.lespittet.com/ there's an even worse version.
Found this:
http://www.nfsworld.ru/2271
But I can't download
Did you check the pic on first post Lotec? , that Toyota 88c Minolta by Rally Master, I thought you were involved in that Le Mans mod or am I wrong.
-
I have asked about it before, I might be remembering wrong though, maybe it was in a dream lol.
I was really excited about the Le Mans mod but I never did get around to modeling anything for it. Have you asked Rally Master?
By the way, do you have CPD's McLaren F1? I can't seem to find it anywhere :(
-
The one with rear wing:
http://www.nfscars.net/highstakes/file/825/
I have also an XP5 without wing by CPD, I believe it's here:
http://www.gigafront.de/downloads,780,90,need_speed_high_stakes.html?sortby=title.DESC
I asked Rally Master, but he said all the files are with Murcielagos.I send him an Email, so let's see what happens.I have the car in my collection, but without permission I can't upload it.
Over the years many nice cars were removed for a reason or just lost.I like to make them availible again, but not without permission.I thought about showing a carlist like in the first post.So people can request anything they like, and I send them a PM with a download link.
-
I thought the only thing from LM mod that was published was the Murciélago R-GT but I could be wrong.
I no longer have access to any rare stuff, and haven't played HS in a long time... I think the last time I fired the old girl was to drive Team RSR's 924 Carrera GT.
If it wasn't moddable it would be one of those games that would be lost in time because due to licensing reasons EA won't sell it anymore. :( It's effectively abandonware now, which may be a good thing after all.
Proof of EA not giving a shit was that in the bundle they sold a long time ago with all classic titles they didn't even bother to update the old games to run on WinXP, and that was when the games still had a large following.
-
The Toyota was availible through a link in the forums on nfscars.net back in 2004.
Even though EA don't care for nfs4,they will not give the source code, so it will even be more moddable for us.
-
Ok, let's go. I need:
1) antiguabill's Nismo 400R
2) Martin Leps' Mercedes SL55 AMG
The Nismo was converted to NFS6 but I remember it was made first for NFS4. It's the only of his Skylines that eludes my clutches, as the R32 and R34 are here and the standard R33 is at NFSCars.
The Martin Leps car is NOT his SL600, it's the supercharged SL55 with the same body. He also made a tuned version of it.
-
Check PM,
Gigafront.de doesn't work a.t.m, I'm sure they had the Nismo and Merc.
-
Thanks noise, I got them. :)

noise can you reupload this? Unfortunately the link is dead.
-
Hi, that's 7 years ago, I'll check.
-
Hi, digged up a project and decided to share it with you. Again only availible when you send me a PM if you want the car (I give you a dropboxlink)
it's an Aston Martin DB5, the one Bond (.....James Bond) drove.
the car came from Toca 2, and was converted to NFS6 by Pedro Boticas. NFS Owner brought to NFS4. it's still availible at nfscars.net I guess.
But it was unfinished, I improved it a little. I don't know were the textures came from that I used.
-
Looks so much better with the interior and driver. Good work. :D
I'm interested. Especially since it's a James Bond car. Can you PM a link, please?
Shaken, not stirred. ;)
-
Wow.. =D that's quick, patience please, I still have to prepare the link, and I'm not on my notebook till tomorrow.
I don't remember adding an interior. I believe it had black windows, I added the driver with steeringwheel, licence nr., and adjusted normals.
And I added a vidwall.
Oh and the dash is a mirrored copy of Butch db4 zagato.
-
I'm also interested in this Aston Martin DB5 aswell.
-
Spectre is interested in the Aston Martin DB5.
Is this a James Bond reference? :D
-
I am interested in the DB5 aswell... always wanted to finish it up for myself for sooo many years but was too lazy :(
-
I think someone should just post lost cars and or files (if they have them) So much stuff is gone now and it's disappointing, Sites goaway due to the greed of hosters or files get removed over what amounts to BS in the end, I make it a point not to remove things I've posted unless I replace them later with better quality items.
-
None of the cars I post here are original, I didn't keep the car.zip.So without readme.txt and the fact I modified/improved the cars with textures/parts from other cars, I can't upload these cars.
-
Please one for me too♥️

I think that since you put much work into it and give proper credits to the original authors and RESPECT for them making and converting them, it's totally fine to publish this as the work from all the previous authors AND you as a final editor and publisher. The fact alone that this car actually has been published loong ago at nfscars.net makes me think about your mindset. I even think that they would be glad if their work would have been improved and put together as one final addon. There should be very few people like Martin Leps in nfs4 modding community complaining about somebody editing his car and hex edit the car.viv so noone could edit it with NFS Wizard. But this is up to you.
Nonetheless i'd like to have that final DB5 version, too, if you will, and i thank you for sharing this
Sorry for my little rant :D Have a good one guys
-
@pete9516: I see what you mean, but I modified the cars with parts/textures I don't know the authors anymore.
This Db5 is in my collection for over 10 years, I gave it better normals and a new grilltexture f.e. I really don't know the source of it.

I agree..It's the same with alot of stuff I posted at Police H.Q.
Some I either lost the details to or it had none to begin with (since I got stuff from 3D Models sites I use alot and some are either too lazy to make READ.Mes or don't know them selves where their files came from and just host them up.).
-
Many thanks for the DB5 noise! I'll make my way on the highway soon
-
Like you to meet the Dacia 1300 by Sammjigga/Radu-Christian.
Gave it transparant windows, more realistic tyres and lisenceplates.
Worked on the normals, and gave it a sort of interior.
I couldn't calculate normals in fcefinish, it corrupted the car.fce and in Zmod I got an error when trying to save.
Turned out that the very highpoly windowframes caused the problem, so I tried to delete them in CarCad.
I could work on the normals after that, but I lost esential polies around the frontwindow frame.
So the car is unfinished but probably more attractive than the original.
PM me if you want it.

I've looked up and down and cannot find these (both NFSHS):
Porsche 911 Turbo (930) by Benny, converted from NFS:PU (I only found a crappy pursuit version)
VW Golf IV by funkyalex
For the Detroit Muscle mod, there was also a beta release of a track called "Motor City" or somesuch, in ca. 2000/2001. I'm not sure about the author. It's an inner-city track. It don't think it was in the Detroit Muscle beta release?
-
I have Benny's 911, it has 2261 polies, and it was the base for 2 pursuits (usa & polizei).

It seems i have the Motor City and the 930 Turbo. I'll upload them on the main page as soon as possibléu
-
Looking forward to Motor CIty.
I was sent the 911 Turbo. Would prefer if you let me upload it, as it's my own release. Still, thanks for archiving!
Thank you, noise.
-
It seems i have the Motor City
https://www.nfsaddons.com/downloads/nfshs/tracks/7469/motor-city.html
Thanks for uploading! I've never seen that one before and it's not the one I remembered. Funny that it exists anyway.
The track I have in mind was made before MCO beta, and features custom self-made textures. It could have been called "Detroit" just as well. Likely posted in the nfscheats forums at the time.

I'd like it, I can make the Romanian Militia

I'd like it. I can make the Romanian Militia car for the ColdWar mod and saves time since you gave it insides now. =D

Could that be the one that I posted in this thread a few years ago? https://www.nfsaddons.com/forums//index.php?topic=1896.msg34942#msg34942
This was probably one of the first tracks trying to look like a dark, industrial city (that wasn't Empire) and, as I said in that other topic, I sadly don't have that track anymore, in fact, I don't even remember the name (could be it was too early to have a final name). It was a retexture of Altantica with a lot of added scenery, but little change in the layout. Past the hairpin area you see in the screens, the track was still unfinished, as in: there was only road, but no scenery at all. It was a very early beta, only shared through the Editing subforum of NFSCheats, and I lost it because it was in a separate folder on my desktop that I forgot to backup when I got a new pc in early 2002. :( So the screens are all I have.

The modding community back then.. It was so huge! Just imagine the old track editing editors they had to use because it was the newest shit.. Now we have JimD developing it further and further..

I just found a very interesting site
https://ds-servers.com/gf/need-for-speed-high-stakes/
Contains a bunch of older models dating back to early 2000s.
To my surprise, it has a number of upgradeable cars, even an xjr15 in career mode. The author is Nate Patrin. I dloaded a Buick Wildcat from there and it looks pretty decent.

Wow, I think that's it. Thanks! Your descirption pretty much fits what I remember of it - a promising editing arena exclusive beta that went discontinued. Who was it by, though? RyanT? Pretty sure it was one of the forum regulars, but then again my memory has been less reliable after 22 years than I'd like to admit.
-
I'm glad I was able to bring back some memories from NFSCHeats' Editing Arena anno early 2000s. :) Pity trying to read this board via the Wayback Machine gets so difficult with all the hosting and URL changes in those days. May I ask what your nickname on NFSCHeats was back in the day?
The track editor is not RYan T, although he was one of the initiators of the DM mod (We still have several of his releases here at NFSAddons, if you're interested) but Evil_Stallion - like you said, an NFSCheats regular, and someone I've seen rarely outside of that place - never saw his name in any other NFS sites that I remember. I'm also not sure if he ever created anything else besides those two track betas. He did have a homepage, but I can't seem to make it work in the Wayback Machine.

Found This Ferrari 512TR on NFSCARS.NET.
Flying Toaster started to ''clean up'' Egelkraut's Testa Rossa but left us with a beta version.
I worked on it a bit and ended up with this.
-corrected some bugs
-added badges and some bodylines
-put profile on tyres
-made a vidwall
Hope you like it.
Tell me if you want it and I PM you a dropboxlink.
-
Found this Escort in my collection, it's not lost but kinda unfinished.
I improved it on several places. If you want it, PM please and I give you the dropboxlink.
The readme.txt give more details.
Hope you like the rims, I don't (had no energy to replace them)
The vidwall is by me also b.t.w.
-
Updated the car with 'normal' rims. The Tom J. rims are now availible as upgrade.
-
Looks like our 00' Moskwitch 2141 =)
