Title: The official NFSCars refugees thread
Post by: mecha on Jul 26, 2019, 4:24 PM
I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking the site situation there has become intolerable.

I'll be here from now on. everyone that's come over check in here.

Well they are still good for a backup or getting files people are either scared or not intrested in putting up here or other places just yet. I still am able to find a few good bases there and tracks.

The lack of direction for the site is.. extremely disappointing.

There's a lot that could be made better about the place but sadly there's just too many faults with the current layout the site has.

Combined with the main guy running the server just letting it sit there, its incredibly unfortunate that one of the longest sites still remaining in the NFS Mod scene is left in the shambles that its in now.

I am seriously hoping that the content there is atleast backed up in case the site ever suddenly disappears.

Yeah, They never should have changed things to the way they have it now, Now when you search for a vehicle it doesn't have to option to isolate to one type of game but rather pulls all files for all the games thus bringing up loads more than you're looking for. Also they got rid of a ton of pics so you have no way of knowing what the thing looks like til you download it. Your posts in Forums are now gone. Like I said, It's still good for a backup and repository of files but that's about it..It's more than I can say about StreetDogs though, Getting rid of almost ALL their old stuff and only keeping maybe 30 or so files of it.  >:(

I'm still working on re-uploading files from there to here. It's a slow process, but i don't have clones of myself,so i can't do it faster, unless someone wants to repost other modder stuff here, just like i did for Eclipse's mods.

I think NfsCars did not have in particulary. A tab to replace xxxx
Say for example i wanted to replace the Cobalt in NFS MW and i needed to search trogouth every single car mod to find a replacement.
This is my only idea why i hated NfsCars.

you could have used Garage Friend V3 in forums,to find a good car, that replaced a certain car.

Mike can still fix nfscars but I don't know why he doesn't, he has never given former staff members a reason why he hasn't made changes to the site, if he added features like this site and some that have some networks. social (example that users can block trolls in case no staff member is available at the moment) nfscars would be safer, is it a good idea what I suggest here or not?

Incase you were not aware, this feature is available on NFSAddons now :) Need to tweak and add it as a filter on the downloads page, but it is available on the car detail pages

I think mike has just given up on the nfs car site . He has 3 other site that he works on to . The flight site the farm site and something else . But I think he is done with nfs cars . I think it time to take whatever police car that are on that site and move them to my site .

I wish NFS Cars went back to the way it was, It's hard to navigate now, Forums lost all their pics, Hell I don't even think the forums them selves work now, I only drop by the site rarely to see if there's any new stuff not posted elsewhere I can download.

Is it, that when the new design came out, that some, or many mods went down? It's just a feeling, but maybe there's something about it. And what's actually the most annoying thing about is, that "old" links to their forums or mod links don't work now
