I am currently looking for a scriptwriter (VLT and Binary) to create an add-on mod of the unmarked version of the Rhino SUV.

This is for NFS Most Wanted 2005 and maybe Carbon.

This vehicle was a private nlgxzef project (i have the right to make it public) and I'd like to be able to make it available as a new vehicle for players, as well as the main level 8 chase vehicle. I have all sources for that (ZModeler file, textures, inis...)

Hi there everyone ! I'm looking for a TGA maker for a MHRT Commodore high poly version (bonus HSV from NFS High Stakes australian version). I want to use the upgrade 3 from the HSV99 by NFSF1McLaren (he allows me to do it) but I don't know how to make textures of this complexity.

I already have the FCE of the model.

I would like to ask a question that even on SWBR (the restored version of NFS World) forums, I can't really get answered.

Why are we forced with the offline version of the game to replace cars when modding, when the "official" servers manage to do adding new entries?

These days I came back to HS to return to my old loves, and an idea came to me by selecting a track in Hot Pursuit mode and especially after playing on the PSX version with my Action Replay.

I've always wondered why there are videos on Youtube where players have fun making the "Raceway" tracks available in Hot Pursuit mode and on PC there aren't any.

Then, I remembered that with NFS HS Mixer, you could replace tracks. So I had fun getting the three Raceways to the top of the list (so instead of Celtic Ruins, Landstrasse and Dolphin Cove). And then to see what it looked like.

I run the first Raceway with the police M5, and see that it has the UK livery. So I notice... the track country is indicated as Italy in the menu, that surprises me. Especially since on PSX, it gives completely buggy liveries ... so it especially surprised me that the rendering was not the same on PC.

Then I remember suddenly that I replaced it in place of Celtic Ruins, so I run the second Raceway and see that the livery was the German.

And there my theory is confirmed. In fact, the track indexes indicate the country of the track and especially the availability in Hot Pursuit mode.

(Indexes are for the European and North America versions of HS)

00: UK
01: Germany
02: USA
03: USA
04: France
05: UK
06: USA
07: Restricted (Raceway 1)
08: Restricted (Raceway 2)
09: Restricted (Raceway 3)
10 to 18: USA (NFSHP ones)

So my question is the following: How could we make to mod this index and give new possibilities of liveries, or quite simply change the country of a track, but without moving the track on the index of the targeted country, to keep police chase communications consistent?

- Pursuit McLaren F1 GTR - Multi-texture edition
- Pursuit Eagle Talon/Redrock Hatchback - Multi-texture edition
- Pursuit Helicopter (yes I know this is very rare...)

Of course, in High Poly versions for VeG's patch.

Hey there and welcome to the forum.

Funny you asking for the australian cop cars. I recently found out it is a registry switch that does enable the aussie liveries.
It is the mysterious "Variant" switch.
Veg, in his wisdom, also ported this variable to his modern patch (without knowing what it actually does).
So if you using the modern patch you only need to set "Variant=4" in the nfs4.ini - seems this works with every game version too.
But prepare for disappointment - this will trigger the AUS.TGA to be used on some USA tracks only; it will only work ingame, not in the main menu. Cars without AUS.TGA will keep their default CAR00.TGA livery.
This actually is how the aussie version of High Stakes works...

On a full game installation the registry switch is at this path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Electronic Arts\Need For Speed High Stakes\1.0
Change DWORD-key "Variant" to value "4".
So thats the way for a regular game installation or when using the Stock-/Expansionpack.

Yes, I want to change the locale. But we don't have any aussie track in the European version of the game... so I would like to know if it is possible to do it anyway thanks to a mod.

It's the only way ? Can not replace the European version of Durham Road by the same but in the Australian version?

Hmmm... But that's not really the effect I'm looking for. I am looking to use the AUS.TGA skin in the European version of the game like the others. There is no way for a mod to change the location of a track?

You'll have to incert some Aussie cop cars into your Data/Cars folder and if you want it to be even more authentic of a Aussie feel replace the track Celtic Ruins with Outback. If you can run Veg Patch I'm in the process of doing a few police vehicles from the hit TV show Blue Heelers but they're high poly.

I tried but the police cars have the UK skin...
