General NFS / Lost NFSHP2 car mods

Hey folks, didn't found such a topic yet, so maybe I should start.
With recent outage of NFSCars I'd found that for some reason I don't seem to have some interesting mods for HP2, so maybe anyone here can share - I'm pretty sure I'm not the one who might miss them in current collection state.
Namely, Pedro_Boticas conversions from TOCA (Aston Martin, Jaguar, Vette C2 to name a few) and Robin7t4 with his 70's collection.

For me it appears that FEDATA format for 3 is not quite clear even now. My recent example was when I was trying to get showcases working for official EA cars AFTER putting them into carmodel directory. Once I'd replaced FEDATA's with some standard cars ones, I was able to get showcases up and running for each, including 456, Lister, Spectre and so on. Maybe somebody here might have detailed fedata format description, but I figured that by experiment

Also, recently I found that Radu-Christian had made MB Turismo for HS. Yet never found it, just conversions for HP and some later games. Is it still around somewhere? Reason why I'm asking is to try it as EBUS replacement with Veg's patch.

Suddenly whole research through the topic led to the personal pack which includes all mentioned cars above, not to mention a lot of tracks. So as for now, it seems like whole NFSHS almost covered by great replacements by lot of authors. Only completely missing things now are MHRT Commodore and Bonus Nissan Skyline from PC and PSX versions accordingly.
As for the other cars, there are still some cases (like AMDB7 Vantage and Formula WS6) which are not 100% representations of vanilla HS cars in my cars list.
So, does anyone tried to update/create HS packs with suitable vanilla replacements recently? Wondering how does it looks from others side.

General NFS / NFS HS Car Purist Replacement Thread

Since all the job done on NFS HS with all these HQ replacements, I decided to start this thread, where we can share our knowledge on existing PC/PSX HQ cars replacements that exist as of now. Feel free to add any comments or ideas on the improvements on the structure.
Some cars might include PC/PSX only status due to the differences between PC and PSX (f.e. Chevrolet Camaro T-Top on PSX vs. Chevrolet Camaro Convertible on PC).

Help/F.A.Q / NFSMW - MC/ReCompiler Issues

Hey guys, I've been wondering, if it's just me or there's an issue with the MW_Inside tools.
I've been playing around with MC/Recompiler tools hoping to expand my MW Garage, but then it appears like only texture data being converted to the desired car name. For example, I have the file which says:
[INFO]
NewName = TRAF4DSEDE
Inside a folder called TRAF4DSEDC, with geometry.bin and textures.bin.
After running the tool, only textures.bin contains correct data with TRAF4DSEDE_* prefix, but opening geometry.bin with either hex or geomviewer shows old TRAF4DSEDC_* prefix.
Anyone got any idea what could be missing? In case of ReCompiler, there NFSMW_Car_Textures.txt in CARS folder aswell.

My 2 cents here.
Think about limitations - and the quality you want to get. Will it require VEG's patch as a must? Or some other patches? Or it should go well with very basic HS installation?
Pay attention to little details, which creates the whole picture. Like what car will the loser drive in Knockout race? How the pursuit cars will be treated - i.e. original approach with racer/pursuit cars having different models, or combined ones, like Frank did? What cars we're going to see as traffic ones?
Like Madman said, but more detailed, establish a medium performance model - is it going to be as realistic as HS can handle, or more arcade/player-friendly model? Both are good.
Establish medium comparison scale for the cars FEDATA - if there's going to be a career, you will need it for sure.
Try to make a list of replacements (standard set, +DLs, +region-specific cars - wouldn't mind having good old GTR and Monaros, speaking of Japanese and Australian editions), and keep up with basic quality. Even low-poly cars have different style - try to compare low-poly MX-5 Miata from FreakDS and some original low-poly cars.
Shortly speaking, try to make a plan. That would be easier to develop such a big thing, and better for any collaboration if there will be any need.
And good luck with that!

I wouldn't be so pessimistic on the time matter. After all, there's still plenty of time till 20th anniversary on 1st March 2019 Only bad thing is that according to Veg, it's still not a public project in terms of support tools and source release. Anyway, let's hope for the better future.
