Dear NFS:HS fans,

as some of you might know, one core feature of our addon cars used to be a very detailed dashview. As you might know aswell, we haven't uploaded any addons in forever though. The reason for this is that both of us, Cooya! and myself, have very few spare time to work on addon cars for HS presently.

We would still like to provide some quality addon cars to you, with a realistic performance, original colors, eventually a show case and, as usually, detailed exterior models. However, the dashviews in our addons will be discontinued to allow a somewhat more frequent addon release. I'm actually sad to say this because to me, it was always important to provide as much original car features as possible. However, it makes me more sad to find all those meshes rotting on my harddrives because the dashviews, which take forever to make, are not finished.

In the last few days, you were teased a bit with some progressed meshes, e.g. the 924 SCCA, the 997-2 GT3 RS or the 993 GT1 street version. These cars and more will be released in near future. Dashviews might follow some day as kind of patch, but no guarantee on that.

Best regards,
Freak-DS

I just don't believe there will come angry comments on your future cars like: crappy car ,no dash ,Freak releases unfinished cars.

It's actually very nice to inform us (HS fans) about these things, you don't have to apollogize for it I think.

I can totally understand that.
If every release has its own unique dashboard, then you're basically making two cars each time.

I'm sure everyone who appreciates you guys' work will understand.

you know, it's just sad when you have to break objectives of yourself. But glad to hear that you still appreciate the cars.
Here's some up-to-date-screeenshots of the GT3 RS:

The dashview on those dashless cars is going to be a roof cam in the future. I cannot quite believe that this car actually survived one whole 911-hiatus in project state. This car was started the day Porsche published photos of it, back in 2010.  :-X

Looks great.Since you simplified dashview (roofcam is pretty cool too b.t.w.), maybe you can make a better driver. On the second screen look at his arms.

Is there anybody here doing carp.txt performance files for NFS:HS? I could need some support because I don't quite understand how e.g. gear ratios are being ignored by the game.

Gear speeds are dictated by the values in the "Velocity to RPM" fields. This program might help you: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=FE00B20B7E44F0F3!424&authkey=!AJ-fBGBr_RnDJzo&ithint=file%2c.zip

I've attached a guide that I found quite helpful when modifying CARP files even though it's in many areas still the 'here be dragons' thing for me.
