NFS High Stakes belongs to the very few games of the Need for Speed franchise that allow modified racing tracks and environments.

Some time ago, JimDiabolo, a senior member of the NFS:HS community, started to work on the source code of T3ED - the only track editor available ever for Need for Speed games. Now, he reached a little revolution in track design.

Apart from the fact that JimD already made a copy and paste function, v-road editing, pasting whole track blocks and more possible, NFS:HS track modders will now be able to import objects from external sources and so allow accurate meshes to be made with much less problems.

Today is a special day, because from now on, the Team RSR Forums is going to be integrated in the NFSAddons forums!

In case you didn't know yet, the Team RSR mainly is a project of the NFS:HS modders Cooya! and Freak-DS producing scratchmade addon-cars with a bunch of nice features for NFS:High Stakes today.

Furthermore, there was support provided for NFS:HS, the StockPack and ExpansionPack by JimD and some more. Now, we figured it would be the best to fuse to create a last resort for those classic NFS fans still playing NFS:HS, so this support is going to be continued here.

All hosted content of Team RSR will still be on their site, the addons will be hosted parallely, only the forums were integrated to the NFSAddons forums.

As of January 31st, there is finally a patch available for the PC version of NFS: The Run, which will address several issues that gamers have complained about since the game's release, such as:
-removal of the 30 fps cap
-adjusted the reset behaviour for several tracks
-fixes for gamepad and other controller support
For the full list of fixes and instructions, go here.
As an added bonus, the patch includes the same 9 cars that made up the Signature Edition Booster Pack that was released as DLC for the consoles back in December.

On the same day, EA announced the Italian Edition Pack for NFS The Run on PS3 and X360. This DLC adds seven new Italian cars to the line up, which can be seen in the trailer above, as well as ten new events.

EA once again gave me the opportunity to get an early taste of the next Need For Speed title: The Run, together with representatives from many other NFS communities. I am sorry that I'm so late with my report, as the game will be out in many countries in a matter of hours as I'm typing this, and will be released before the end of the week in the rest of the world. Still, if you want to know more about the The Run and my opinion on it, please click here to read the full story.

Videos that show more and more NFS The Run gameplay are being released on an almost daily basis now, not just by EA themselves, but also by the major review sites like Gamespot and IGN... it would be pointless to link them all, so I''l just pick two that show some parts of the game that haven't been shown before; first above is a new trailer by EA, showing what The Run brings in terms of multiplayer, second one below is by Gamespot, which shows some of the coolest locations in the game (in my opinion), if only because it reminds me so much of old-school NFS.

By the way, sorry to keep you waiting for my hands-on report, I'm aiming to have it up this weekend.

As of today, the demo for Need For Speed is available for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
The demo will feature two cars, the LP550-2 Valentino Balboni and the next generation Porsche 911 Carrera S, and will let you drive on the Desert Hills and Independence Pass tracks that we all have seen in previous trailers.
For more details on where and how to get the demo, please refer to the official NFS: The Run FAQ.
Remember that the demo is only available from October 18th until November 1st!

Meanwhile, here's another trailer showing off some more cars as well as a little more scenery than we've seen until now. Expect the promotion machine to shift up a few more gears as the game's release is less than a month away.
I was invited along with many other representatives from the Need For Speed communities to the EA Studios in Vancouver last week, to get a chance to play an early version of the game. Expect a report with my opinions in a few days.

I know I'm a little late with this, but anyway: the 4th NFS: The Run trailer popped up online earlier this week, showing a McLaren MP4-12C and a Pagani Huayra dueling on the Million Dollar Highway.

A few days before, it was announced that a demo for The Run will be available on October 18th for PS3 and X360; just like last year's Hot Pursuit demo, it will likely only be active for a limited amount of time. Sadly, there won't be a PC demo.
More info here.

Finally, NFS-Planet has published the following minimum and recommended specs for the PC version of The Run. Although no official word on this has come from EA's own channels yet, these system requirements probably won't be far from the truth.

Two interesting NFS: The Run trailers got released earlier today, the first one being the 'official' third trailer for The Run, called "Buried Alive" showing main character Jack battling an Audi R8 and dodging avalanches at the same time.
The second, is a demonstration video from the presentation at Gamescom in Germany, giving you a quite intense first-person impression of the 'avalanche' race from the official trailer, and showcasing a little bit more what the Frostbite engine can do for the next Need For Speed game.

Following up shortly on last week's second trailer, the Limited Edition video shows us the exclusive cars for the LE, with the much-anticipated new Lamborghini Aventador, the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and the 2011 Porsche Carrera S (the latter being only a blur, as the real car hasn't been presented yet). We also see a little bit more variation in the scenery.
